While ANP has no plans to endorse anyone for president in 2016, I do feel the amount of attacks on Donald Trump for daring speak the truth and refusing to bow down to the "political correctness" crowd, are over-the-top.
Before going into the details of Trump's latest statements which has everyone in an uproar, let us deal with some of the most common compalints about Donald Trump.
He is brash, crass and some even describe him as obnoxious....... well, folks..... he is a New Yorker! 'Nuff said? (Don't get all outraged New Yorkers, I have a lot of family there and most of them will even tell you it is true!)
His companies have filed for bankruptcy and opponents love to point that out, so let ME point out that he used legal methods to do what was best for his business.
The latest manufactured outrage stems from Donald Trump's presidential announcement and specifically comments he made about Illegal immigrants from Mexico, where he stated “They’re sending us not the right people,” he said, adding: "The US has become a dumping ground for everyone else’s problems.
"They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing their problems,” he said. "They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some I assume are good people but I speak to border guards and they tell us what we are getting."
He promised that is he was elected as president he would build a “great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall".
Let’s take a look at the breakdown of crimes committed by this latest batch of freed illegal aliens. The records show that more than 16,000 were convicted of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Over 9,000 had dangerous drug convictions, 1,075 were convicted of aggravated assault, 426 of sexual assault and 193 of homicide. Additionally, the records show that 1,160 of the freed illegal immigrants had stolen vehicle convictions, 303 kidnapping convictions and 303 flight escape convictions.
Thousands of others were convicted of lesser crimes that are nevertheless serious enough to merit detention if you’re already in the country illegally. Those offenses include extortion, embezzlement, arson, domestic violence, property crimes, larceny, burglary, intimidation, obstructing police, weapon offenses, forgery, obstructing the judiciary and a variety of fraud. Those who take the time to read the entire list may find it difficult to imagine that the government would even consider freeing these offenders.
Rich Lowry over at Politico accurately encompasses the problems Trump refers to:
For all its crassness, Trump’s rant on immigration is closer to reality than the gauzy clichés of the immigration romantics unwilling to acknowledge that there might be an issue welcoming large numbers of high school dropouts into a 21st-century economy. If we don’t want to add to the ranks of the poor, the uninsured and the welfare dependent, we should have fewer low-skilled immigrants — assuming saying that is not yet officially considered a hate crime.
Another thing Trump is correct about was his statement "Sadly the American dream is dead." How about how America appears weak? Or that we let other countries walk all over us? Trump is right and right again!
Or his comment "Our enemies are getting stronger and stronger by the day, and the US as a country is getting weaker and weaker. How stupid are our leaders, how stupid are our politicians to let this happen? Our president doesn’t have a clue."
Yes, right again!
Now we have the establishment on both sides of the aisle trying to explain why Donald Trump's polling numbers are rising, despite their best attempts to attack him.... attributing it to name recognition, the fact that he really did it this time, he threw his hat in the ring, etc..... but how about considering that his numbers are rising because he is the only candidate to date, TELLING THE TRUTH.
Trump may not be the most charming speaker, but look at Obama, they loved his speaking and speech abilities and look at the mess he is causing. How about Hillary who uses a fake accents depending on what crowd she is talking to? Doesn't that just scream "honesty?" Or all the other candidates that are so busy sucking up to the right "crowd," being politically correct, basing their statements on what is polling well that day or week?
Look, I don't know if I would vote for Donald Trump or not, or even if I will vote at all in 2016 considering the whole election game seems to be rigged and establishment decides what candidates we will have to choose from in November 2016, all basically controlled by the same puppet masters, but if people want to go after Donald Trump, they should debate his positions, his platform, his stances on issues, they should not wave him away because he refuses to be politically correct or because he speaks the truth.
In the video below, Donald Trump joined Fox and Friends and was asked if he was concerned about "alienating the Hispanic vote," to which his answer was "whether it costs me votes or not, I don't care, I tell the truth."
What a novel idea.
Our country would be far better off today if all our politicians told the truth as they see it rather than telling the public what they want to hear.
