In September 2014, Barack Obama gave a speech, where he stated his strategic objectives in fighting ISIS specifically highlighting what he considered a "success," spotlighting Yemen. Those words are shown in the video below from March 2015, just months later as the US pulls out of Yemen, forced to evacuate all American forces from their air base, in what Fox & Friends calls a "humiliating failure" on the part of Obama.
CNN reports the US State Department cites the "deteriorating security situation," for evacuating approximately 100 Special Operations forces members. This is not the first setback in what Obama highlighted as his "successful" strategy against ISIS in Yemen, evidenced by the US having to close its embassy in Sanaa last month, after Houthi rebels took over the Yemeni capital.
On Friday, for instance, ISIS purportedly claimed responsibility for bombings at two mosques in Sanaa what, if true, would mark that group's first large-scale attack in Yemen. The claim came in a statement posted on a site that previously carried ISIS proclamations, but couldn't be immediately authenticated by CNN.
Those blasts killed at least 137 people and wounded 357 others, according to Yemen's state-run Saba news agency.
America just got much weaker in that region and as stated in the news segment below, "Iran just got more powerful."
