If These Are The New 'Signs Of The Times' And Not An Aberration, We May Be Closing In Upon A Living Hell

- Grocery Store Customers Shocked By Empty Shelves Best Prepare Now While They Still Can

While we found this July 16th story by Michael Snyder over at the Economic Collapse Blog titled "Due To A Poor Harvest Season, We Are Experiencing Shortages On Many Of Our Canned Vegetable Items" to be concerning, that headline is a direct quote from the notice recently posted in a Kroger supermarket seen below. And while some might think that sign to be an aberration, as Snyder detailed for us within his story and we see in several videos we've embedded at the bottom of this story, similar notices are also being posted in the canned vegetable sections of Wal-Mart stores nationwide.

While those who read ANP and other independent news websites shouldn't be the least bit surprised about these notices now appearing upon grocery store shelves around the nation as we've been reporting upon the potential of food shortages here in America for several months and dating back to the record flooding in America's heartland, those who are not paying attention to what's happening to our nation's food supply could soon find themselves in dire straits with the mainstream media reporting very little upon food shortages and food recalls and only 5% to 16% of Americans being 'preppers'

And while many of these signs popping up in grocery stores across the country have the same 'effective date' of July 2nd through August 9th, should war against Iran suddenly break out and their 'sleeper cells' allegedly long embedded here begin to carry out terrorist attacks that shut down the electrical grid or damage our critical infrastructure or put a halt to movement in this country, shortages to our nation's food supply could quickly spiral totally out of control.

If any ANP reader see any such signs in grocery stores near you or lots of empty shelves where food normally is and you get a photograph of them, please email the photos to tips@allnewspipeline.com and we'll use them in a follow up story. The following excerpt comes to us from Michael Snyder's story titled "Due To A Poor Harvest Season, We Are Experiencing Shortages On Many Of Our Canned Vegetable Items".

I know that this headline is alarming, but it is actually a direct quote from a notice that was recently posted in a Kroger supermarket. And as you will see below, similar notices are being posted in the canned vegetable sections of Wal-Mart stores nationwide.

I would encourage you to examine the evidence in this article very carefully and to come to your own conclusions about what is happening. At this moment, social media is buzzing with reports of shortages of canned vegetables all around the country. But so far, the mainstream media is being eerily quiet about all of this. Is there a reason why they aren’t saying anything?

For months, I have been reporting on the extremely bizarre weather patterns that are causing crop failures all over the planet. But I certainly did not expect that we would already begin to see product shortages on the shelves of major U.S. supermarkets this summer. What I am about to share with you is shocking, but the truth needs to get out.

For those that share my articles on your own websites, I know that all of the images in this article are going to be an inconvenience, but it is imperative that you include them when you republish this article because they tell a story. All of the images are taken directly from Facebook, and they prove that we are now facing a nationwide shortage of canned vegetables.

We have gone ahead and embedded each of those images within this story with a couple of them at the very bottom while in the final two sections of this story, we'll take a look at preparing for what might be ahead with special emphasis on tips to grow our own food in the days ahead, even indoors, using hydroponics and sprouting in a worst case scenario.

Are these food shortages at Wal Mart's and other grocery stores across America just an aberration or another 'sign of the times' that we're now living within, times complete with earthquakes all across the planet, 'wars and rumors of wars', numerous deadly pestilences now striking down people in America and elsewhere around the world and catastrophic weather striking our 'breadbasket' and food production systems all across the planet?

As Haaretz had reported in this July 11th story titled "Revealed: Israel Is Dangerously Unprepared for Global Food Shortages", nationwide emergency meals reserves in Israel suffice just for weeks, to a few months at the most.

Warning within their story that the primary downside facing farmers isn’t the sluggish creep of worldwide warming. It’s climate extremes, equivalent to drought, flood, frost or withering warmth, with 'grand solar minimum' also happening during this same time period that we're witnessing catastrophic flooding in America's 'breadbasket' and now several different volcanic eruptions sending towering columns of ash into the atmosphere, there's never been a better time to prepare.

The following email was recently sent to Steve Quayle by one of his readers.

ALBANY OREGON:Mom, it's happening. U were right. Just left Walmart. They have bare spots all over the shelves. Lots of them. Limited choices on random other non food items too.

Hi, Steve

I thought I’d pass along a text I just received from my daughter. She and her husband and son live in Albany, Oregon, which is about in the middle of the Willamette Valley.

“Mom, it's happening. U were right. Just left Walmart. They have bare spots all over the shelves. Lots of them. Limited choices on random other non food items too. They rearranged, I think, to make it look full but it wasn't. I've been going there a long time. I can see the difference. I pointed it out to Chris, who must've had tunnel vision. He stopped to look around & finally noticed how low in stock the shelves are. Plus I noticed an odd thing, mom. The majority of the regular sized stuff, food or not, wasn't available. It's been jumbo/super sized. From t.p to grapes. Even though we might've not been able to afford the extra food we got today. I bought stuff like rice & beans etc. What I saw today gave me a lump in my throat & an invisible weighted feeling that hasn't left yet. “

I think she may be waking up! ...better late than never, hummm? You remain in my prayers - May the Lord Jesus bless you and your ministry mightily, Lani

Back on March 19th, BBC put out this story titled "What Happens When The Food Runs Out" within which they warned just how fragile our nation and the world's food supply is, warning our modern society relies upon complex, modern supply chains for food. How would we cope if they were to suddenly collapse? Actually a great question that almost every prepper has aksed and attempted to answer themselves, that story described a very real life nightmare.:

It happened almost overnight. Rešad Trbonja was an ordinary teenager growing up in a thriving, modern city, one which only a few years earlier had hosted the Winter Olympics. Then on 5 April 1992, the place he had called home was suddenly cut off from the outside world.

What he – along with almost 400,000 other inhabitants trapped inside Sarajevo by the Bosnian Serb Army – could not guess was that it was the start of a nightmare that would last nearly four years. In the Siege of Sarajevo, ordinary residents trapped inside the city would go about their lives to a daily thump of artillery and crack of sniper rifles. Even simply crossing the street or queuing for bread would become a life-threatening experience as the soldiers on the hills surrounding the city took pot-shots at the local populace.

But while the bullets and shells fired into their city were a constant threat, Trbonja and his neighbours faced another, quieter foe from within: hunger.

“The food began to run out almost immediately,” recalls Trbonja, who was 19 years old at the time and now teaches school children about the war in Bosnia. “The little bit of food in the stores went pretty quickly and many of the shops were looted. A cupboard and a fridge at home doesn’t hold very much when you're feeding a whole family, so it didn’t take long for everything to be gone.”

With what happened then a warning to all of us all across the planet about just how quickly things could spiral out of control in even less than a worst case scenario, what can we do to make sure our families don't suffer through similar fates?

only_9_meals_away_if_that.png

While it has long been argued that 'civilization' is only 'nine meals away from anarchy', with that statement suggesting that should SHTF and TEOTWAWKI fully arrive in America, we'll have 3 days before things get totally out of hand if life doesn't return to normal before then, numerous recent events prove that it won't take anywhere near that long for things to spiral out of control once people realize that the power won't be coming back on, the grocery stores won't be restocked and a 'lights out scenario' had become the 'new normal'.

So as Susan Duclos had reported in this ANP story back on May 29th, should some very worst case scenarios come to pass, with this Spring's flooding in the Midwest decimating many crops, with millions of calves lost during the flooding, along with the recent barrage of tornadoes leaving a path of destruction from Kansas to Pennsylvania, along with the recent news of Asian "pig ebola" sending "shock waves through the global food chain," we have seen and written a number of prepping pieces encouraging Americans to prepare, many focused on emergency survival food, but eventually even that would run out as the long term effects of food shortages started affecting production. So, from that story.:

While a significant supply of emergency food may last a few months, a year or maybe, for those that have been prepping longer,  more, long-term survival will depend on the ability to grow your own food indoors year-round.

ANP reached out to Steve Quayle, who has been a proponent of prepping since before prepping became a "thing," to ask what the most ignored or under-addressed aspect of prepping was in his researched opinion, and received back some of the best prepping tips we have ever heard.

Below we will delve into the most important factors of survival that we believe are not addressed enough.

We'll start with sprouts, often described as a "miracle food" as they are healthy and nutrious, offer vitamin, mineral, amino acid and protein boosts, are affordable, requires no soil (perfect for apartment preppers with a limited amount of space), and offer a large variety, sprout seeds, beans, legumes or grains, and more.

The information on sprouting is out there if one knows what to look for and the easy process "involves germinating seeds and legumes, and then eating them raw," so they don't even have to be cooked, and most can be added to soups, stews, salads, among a number of other foods.

In researching sprouts  we found that they can be grown in simple mason jars, or sprouting trays that barely take up any room and some sprouts can be ready to eat within a week. (Note - Some  can take 10-20 days to harvest)

That story by Susan then went on to look at using hydroponics to grow our own food.:

Hydroponics is a method of growing nutritious sprouts and other greens and vegetables that
doesn't require soil. While researching this method, we were amazed to see how many different herbs, vegetables and greens can be grown using a hydroponics system. Lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach and much more can offer decent yields, with no messy soil or the need for a full outside garden, and they can be grown all year round.

While the systems themselves range from larger hydroponic growing systems, to smaller ones for those that take up much less space, we found the majority of them to be relatively inexpensive.

The great part of being able to grow sprouts, vegetables, fruits and greens indoors using hydroponics is that one is not limited by season or weather and can be harvested more rapidly than traditional gardening. The best part is using non-GMO seeds and growing your own food, you always know exactly what is in the food you are eating and how fresh it is.

And for those who feel they don't have the time to grow your own food before SHTF, long term survival food is as close by as an internet order, some of which can be delivered to your doorstep the very next day.
