Radical Bernie Internet Troll Army As Bad In 2020 As They Were In 2016 As More Staffers Promote 'Extreme Action' - Spam Attacks The New Harassment Method Of Choice?
In 2016 Bernie Sanders' online supporters were vitriolic, attacking anyone that disagreed with Sanders and supported Hillary Clinton and were quite annoying by all accounts. It was so bad that during Sanders' 2020 campaign, back in February 2019, reports showed that Sanders had to send an internal memo out telling supporters to not do it again! Basically it warned against "bullying and harassment of any kind."
It appears they are simply ignoring that and harassing individuals that are critical of Sanders anyway.
As we have seen and reported recently, multiple Bernie Sanders' campaign workers have been caught on undercover camera by Project Veritas journalists, speaking about armed revolution, burning journalists in the street after dragging them out of their buildings, guillotines for the rich, and gulags for conservatives, among other shocking declarations, to which the Sanders campaign not only refused to condemn or denounce, but also kept those same people on staff.
[Update] On Tuesday, Project Veritas released another undercover video showing additional staffers promoting "extreme action" and property destruction, and that video has been added to the bottom of the article.
• Some progressive activists who declined to back Mr. Sanders have begun traveling with private security after incurring online harassment. Several well-known feminist writers said they had received death threats. A state party chairwoman changed her phone number. A Portland lawyer saw her business rating tumble on an online review site after tussling with Sanders supporters on Twitter.
• “Politics is a contact sport,” said Bakari Sellers, a former South Carolina State legislator who supported Ms. Harris in the Democratic primary. "But you have to be very cognizant when you say anything critical of Bernie online. You might have to put your phone down."
"There’s going to be a blowback, and it could be sexist, racist and vile." In recent days, he said, one man sent a profanity-filled private message on Instagram, calling Mr. Sellers, who is black, an “Uncle Tom” and wishing him brain cancer.
• When Mr. Sanders’s supporters swarm someone online, they often find multiple access points to that person’s life, compiling what can amount to investigative dossiers. They will attack all public social media accounts, posting personal insults that might flow in by the hundreds. Some of the missives are direct threats of violence, which can be reported to Twitter or Facebook and taken down.
More commonly, there is a barrage of jabs and threats sometimes framed as jokes. If the target is a woman, and it often is, these insults can veer toward her physical appearance.
• For some perceived Sanders critics, there has been mail sent to home addresses — or the home addresses of relatives. The contents were unremarkable: news articles about the political perils of centrism. The message seemed clear: We know where you live.
As many ANP regular readers know, the other day, the day after the article about the Bernie staffer talking about guillotines for the rich, there was major spam attack here at ANP, from dating trolls.
We had some laughs about it in the comment section as Stefan and I spent the whole day, deleting and banning each new name, new IP address and user name, to clean up the comment section from spam and trolls.
Many readers thought it ended that first day.... it didn't as the screen shots below show, Stefan just decided to take one word that was in each and every one of those comments and filter it (ban), so Disqus would automatically slap it in the spam folder, so our readers didn't have to deal with the constant dating trolls.
If by chance a regular readers used the word we restricted we simply go in and approve it immediately.
The reason I mention this online army of women looking for a man to "protect their tender heart," in a piece about crazed Bernie supporters is because hundreds of those now-deleted comments, were made on the piece about his staffer wanting to guillotine the rich, create an armed revolution, and stick conservatives in gulags.
A couple dozen went to the new piece written after that, and a few in Breaking News, but the overwhelming majority of them attacked the Bernie piece.
Note: The idea and purpose was to annoy readers into leaving, but they obviously know nothing about ANP readers because we all had a field day with it all, to the point where our regulars jokingly created their own "ads" (looking at you, insert names here).
SANDERS' SUPPORTERS ARE CERTIFIABLY CRAZY
While I often laugh when a Democrat politician, or Hollywhore celebrity will blame "Russian bots" every time conservatives on social media call them out, especially when a quick look through their timeline shows they certainly are not bots, the dating troll spam attack at ANP were conducted by human beings.
Make no mistake, a human or group of them had to set it all up, creating hundreds upon hundreds of Disqus accounts preemptively in preparation to attack their next target, but the comments came in on top of each other, one right after another, every few seconds.
In 2016, online Bernie supporters would hunt the search engines for anyone writing about Bernie Sanders on that particular day or week, then pass the information around on forums, social media groups and chats, then send their people over to harass and torment their targets.
It appears that they have advanced a bit in technology and now understand how easy it is to create a bot program to do their dirty work for them, freeing them up to hunt down anyone else critical of Sanders.
As I pointed out in a previous piece: Sanders may not be responsible for the actions of others, but it is very clear that something about him attracts certifiable crazy people.
I was going to find a video that spoke to the insanity of many Sanders' voters in 2020 and in 2016, but why embed an opinion piece when I can show voters and real Sanders' voter, and let them witness said insanity for themselves.
Please let us know in the comment section how much of this video you could make yourself watch...OH, LANGUAGE ALERT!
[Update] Second video is Project Veritas' new release showing two additional Bernie staffers promote "extreme action" and property destruction.
