Democrats Are Violating Article I Section 8 Of The US Constitution And Punishing US Citizens By Forcing A Prolonged Govt Shutdown Over Funding Health Care For Illegal Aliens

By S.E. Gunn, PhDAll News Pipeline

On October 2, 2025, the White House published the article Democrat Shutdown Hurts Families, Veterans, Workers Across the Country illustrating how the Democrat's actions in forcing a shutdown (by voting against the very same Continuing Resolution they already approved months ago to allow the government to operate through September 30, 2025) is affecting the Citizens of our great country.

Remember that, although the Democrats will tell you the Republicans have the "majority" in the House, Senate, and Presidency; it takes a "super majority" to pass legislation. That means 60 out of 100 Senators must vote "yes" to pass any legislation; but the "majority" only represents 53 out of 100. So, at a minimum, 7 Democrats are responsible for the shutdown (you pick which ones) because that is how many "yes" votes from Democrats are needed to now reopen government. The House already passed the CR with the "super majority" vote. And the Democrats previously voted "yes" on the very same CR just months ago! So this is a deliberate act on the part of Democrats to take control of the government. Thing is, now that they've done this, President Trump and his Administration now have much more leeway to remove even more people from the Executive Branch.

The Democrats are forcing 'essential workers' and military service members to work without pay until such time as a minimum of 7 Democrats relent, sign the CR, and return to negotiating the Federal budget (per their US Constitution Article I Section 8 obligations which they swore an oath to uphold discussed below). Granted, the workers will receive back pay; but, how many paychecks in a row can you miss before your personal financial situation collapses. With 63% of "middle class" families not able to afford a $500 unexpected expense and 42% are living from paycheck to paycheck, I think we will find out very quickly just how bad things will become. According to PlanWell Financial Planning, the 2025 Federal Employee Holidays and Pay Period Calendar shows the first pay date essential workers & military service members will miss falls on October 10, 2025 and the next will be October 24, 2025. Could you go a month without a paycheck?

On September 30, 2025 President Trump signed the Notice Continuation of the National Emergency With Respect to the Situation in and in Relation to Syria which was sent straight to the FR and published October 2, 2025. In this notice, the President has determined that the situation in Syria endangers civilians and threatens to undermine the peace, security, and stability in the Middle East. Therefore, the national emergency declared in EO 13897 signed October 14, 2019, is continued for another year.
