If we look at the definitions of both Vampirism and Cannibalism we note that one focuses on the consumption of blood while the other deals with consuming flesh, yet a recent spate of attacks where no blood consumption was involved but biting was, is being referred to as "vampire-like" attacks rather than cannibalistic attacks.
Cannibalism: the eating of human flesh by another human being
Jeremiah 19:9 - "I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another's flesh during the stress of the siege imposed on them by the enemies who seek their lives."
The most recent spate of attacks occurred in New Zealand’s North Island, where in three different incidences there are reports of women going around biting other people, in one case a women bit a mans neck so hard her teeth cut through an artery. In another incident a woman was arrested after allegedly "chomping on a woman’s ear," with the damage bad enough that it required medical attention. These attacks followed a previous attack where a violent family encounter resulted in another report of someone being bitten. (Source)
In the report linked above a police spokesperson described these rash of attacks as "a little bit weird," with another report from Breitbart stating the police "said the mounting number of biting incidents isn’t a coincidence."
A quick search shows us that elsewhere, reports of "cannibalism" and biting incidents is have been in the news with increasing frequency over the last decade.
In Edmenton, Canada, we see a report from December 2015 of a woman acting strangely, trying to strangle a dog and biting another women, while in October 2015 a British DJ was attack by what was described as "growling cannibal" that savagely beat him and bit his face. (Video below)
In July 2015, In Peoria, IL, a woman climbed through another woman's window and attacked her, biting her back multiple times and her forearm when she attempted to fend her attacker off.

Donna flipped over to defend herself. But Red, striking as fast as a viper, bit her on the forearm.Tired of all those teeth, Donna managed to wiggle away and flee the residence. She ran a block east, to a house in the 1600 block of South Westmoreland Avenue.
There, Donna asked the homeowner to borrow his phone to call police.Officers arrived to witness swollen bumps on her left temple and right forehead, plus a bite mark on an forearm and multiple bite marks on her back. Police photographed the injuries before an ambulance took Donna for treatment at a Peoria hospital.
It isn't just random reports of this type of behavior that has us asserting cannibalism is on the rise as we have previously reported examples of terrorist groups forcing parents to consume the flesh of their children as heard in Congressional testimony by by Chairman of the Yazidi Human Rights Organization, Mirza Ismail, who stated "I met mothers, whose children were torn from them by ISIS. These same mothers came to plead for the return of their children, only to be informed, that they, the mothers, had been fed the flesh of their own children by ISIS. Children murdered, then fed to their own mothers."
It sounded like the most far-fetched propaganda claim - a Syrian rebel commander who cut out the heart of a fallen enemy soldier, and ate it before a cheering crowd of his men.
The story turned out to be true in its most important aspect - a ritual demonstration of cannibalism - though when I met the commander, Abu Sakkar, in Syria last week, he seemed hazy on the details.

"It looks like you're carving him a Valentine's heart," says one of his men, raucously. Abu Sakkar picks up a bloody handful of something and declares: "We will eat your hearts and your livers you soldiers of Bashar the dog."
Then he brings his hand up to his mouth and his lips close around whatever he is holding. At the time the video was released, in May, we rang him and he confirmed to us that he had indeed taken a ritual bite (of a piece of lung, he said).
We are rapidly approaching a point in time where the fictional "Soylent Green" is becoming reality and reports of cannibalism are becoming the norm.
Ezekiel 5:10 - "Therefore fathers shall eat their sons in your midst, and sons shall eat their fathers. And I will execute judgments on you, and any of you who survive I will scatter to all the winds."
