Preparing For The Worst Natural Disaster In History - How Everyone In America May Be Impacted When The Cascadia Subduction Zone Rips Apart - Full Cascadia Rising Exercise Scenario Document Here
With even a movie written about it, almost everyone has heard of the San Andreas fault in California though up until recently, the 700+ mile long Cascadia subduction zone further north had been the 'quake-maker we'd never heard of'. Sitting quietly without a massive quake for over 316 years since an earthquake on January 26th, 1700 caused a tsunami an ocean away in seaside villages in Japan and at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean where the North American plate meets the seabed, Cascadia went viral recently when we learned the 'really big one' could hit without a moments notice and when it did, tens of thousands of people would likely be killed with twice as many injured as an oceanwide path of destruction lays in its wake.
We're well aware that the White House recently held a huge meeting to prepare for a future Cascadia quake and the Department of Defense is concerned enough about it that they will be participating in a massive drill later in June. Since we were also told that there is no way to predict when the next 'big one' will hit, we wanted to take a look at some of the reasons why nearly everybody in the country may be impacted by a Cascadia quake, even those on the East coast...a full continent away.
On ANP, we've published many stories about what can happen when the electricity goes out for a lengthy period of time and whether via earthquake, EMP from the sun, cyber attack, attack upon the electrical grid or something else catastrophic, most Americans are completely dependent upon the grid and any long-term power outage can lead to the unthinkable. With banking systems and businesses now nearly completely dependent upon the internet and electricity to do business, any kind of outage that goes nationwide immediately impacts everybody who is still plugged into the matrix.
We're also told here that the human response to a Cascadia subduction zone quake will be the largest response to any natural disaster in US history and as we see in the photograph below and learn in the linked story, the military and the DOD will be heavily involved in both the coordination and the response. From June 7th through June 10th, agencies from all across the government will be taking place in the massive Cascadia Rising drills.
While a New Yorker magazine story from July of 2015 told us that if a Cascadia quake strikes, 'everything West of Interstate 5 will be toast', we also learned that Cascadia is now 'locked, loaded and ready to fire' but, unlike those living in small villages on Japan's coast back in 1700 on a dark winter night, those living in 2016 America may have some notice of impending doom....though not much.
We also take a look below at several earthquake/tsunami simulations for a massive Cascadia quake as well as taking a look at what happened in 1700 when a Cascadia quake caused a tsunami in Japan as seen in the 1st video below. Showing us what happened the last time a massive quake struck that region, we see that a tsunami struck much of the land areas in the surrounding 'ring of fire' as a countless number were killed back then. Just think of the damage that would be caused now with millions more living on the planet and our infrastructure nearly completely dependent upon electricity.
As we're also told here, the big problem with the Cascadia subduction zone is the North American plate sits atop the Pacific plate and the Pacific plate will move up under the North American plate and in a sideways 'sheering' fashion as seen and explained in the photograph below. The scenarios which are outlined below photograph share several different viewpoints on a massive Cascadia quake scenario and none of them are good.
A massive earthquake that would lay waste to thousands of homes and buildings, devastate the power grid and energy infrastructure, and even do things like causing the edge of the continent to drop by as much as 30 feet and liquefying solid ground.
A mega-tsunami that would arrive onshore across the Northwestern coast within 15 minutes of the earthquake's strike, creating a "700-mile-long liquid wall" that would render the region "unrecognizable."
The deaths of 13,000 people, or perhaps many more, as well as more than 1 million left homeless, and the need to provide food and water for more than 2 million for perhaps months to come.

The state is “like an eight-and-a-half-month pregnancy, due any time now” for a major earthquake, Althea Rizzo, geology hazard coordinator for the Oregon Office of Emergency Management, said this month.
The Pacific Northwest is due for a continent-rending earthquake. Experts believe the odds of a Big One happening in the next half century are about one in three, the odds of a Very Big One roughly one in ten, and that, in either case, we are disastrously unprepared.
Let us not forget that the Cascadia Subduction Zone sits directly along the Ring of Fire, and the Ring of Fire has started to become much more active in recent years.
In addition, if the region starts to become more seismically active there is also a very real possibility that we could see a full-blown eruption of Mt. Rainier, which has been described as “the most dangerous mountain in America“.
Let us hope that we have as much time as possible before our nation has to deal with such calamities, but the cold, hard truth is that we are certainly not helping matters by acting so wickedly.
If we continue to do the same things that we have been doing, it is only a matter of time before the judgment of God comes to our land in a major way. We are killing millions of babies, harvesting their body parts and auctioning those body parts off to the highest bidder. To many Americans that may seem like “old news”, but I assure you that this is not “old news” to God.
