Public distrust of the traditional media has been on the rise for a decade according to the latest Gallup polling numbers with the "trust" numbers remaining historically low, as other reports show that perceived media bias has also been on the rise with 70 percent believing the media is "intentionally biased," but the root of the problem actually goes much deeper than what they admit.
For years we have seen the rise of the Internet blamed, then the rise of social media, then Alternative Media or Independent Journalism if one prefers that term, but the rise of all the aforementioned can be directly attributed to the corruption within traditional news outlets, not just the blatant bias but the refusal to offer all the information available to the public in order to let them make their own determinations, do their own research and come to their own conclusions.
When I started writing, straight politics, my reason was because when I visited online Hell Stream Media (HSM) sites, they would refer to documents, reports, intelligence, they would inform us what was important (in their eyes!), what we should be worried about, what we should ignore, but they rarely would link to the actual documents themselves and allow the reader to look at the same information and come to their own determinations...... but when I visited blogs, while they too would offer their own "spin, they would link to the originating material so that readers could agree or disagree dependent on what they found to be relevant.
I wanted to be part of that..... to offer everything and anything that is available so readers could access all the information and make informed opinions rather than being braindead sheep led to the slaughter by journalists that believe they knew what was important and what wasn't.
A perfect example which ANP highlighted back in May of 2015 was when Bob Schieffer made a stunning admission in his commentary about his retirement, where he stated "We now don’t know where people get their news, but what we do know is they’re bombarded with information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Most of the information is wrong and some of it is wrong on purpose. It is our job, I think, in mainstream journalism to try to cut through this mall of information and tell people what we think is relevant and what they need to know. That is the job of the journalist and I have to say it’s harder and harder."
That ladies and gentlemen is why we are seeing headlines such as "The shrinking impact of mainstream media," from outlets such as The Hill or "While media rages, Trump sees path to victory," from Washington Examiner, as just two examples. Both articles use Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump as an example of traditional medias decline, as each new controversy has the Hell Stream Media declaring his candidacy over, finished, dead... yet he continues to rise in the polls.
I would pose the theory that part of Donald Trump's rise is directly related to the media trying to destroy him, spending so much ink on the attempt that the "sheep" that used to allow themselves to be led on a leash where the media wanted them to go, are now deliberately doing and wanting the exact opposite of what they HSM tells them they should want. Doesn't hurt that Trump refuses to bow to them and their demands of political correctness!
THE FALL OF THE HELL STREAM MEDIA
While they continue to make everything about Trump, the fall of traditional media comes from the corruption within.
From the devastating affects of Fukushima on the Pacific and sea life, to the downward spiral of the economy, to very real danger of World War III with Russia and perhaps China over Syria, to the Muslim terrorist invasion of the US, and much, much more, we see the Hell Stream Media lying, refusing to report, and basically becoming nothing more than Washington's mouthpiece instead of questioning them and holding them accountable.
THE RISE OF ALTERNATIVE MEDIA
According to a recent poll conducted by the British company ICM Research, 60 percent of Americans and Europeans would prefer non-MSM coverage of International News. The poll was conducted between March 20 and April 9, with 1,000 people covered each country, being Greece, United States, United Kingdom, Germany and France.
The reason for such a dramatic rise in Independent Journalism is clear from the Sputnik headline about the ICM poll, which states "More People Turn to Alternative Media Due to Distrust in Mainstream Outlets."
ATTACKS ON ALTERNATIVE MEDIA SITES DIRECTLY RELATED TO WASHINGTON LOSING CONTROL OF THE NARRATIVE
Recently Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report joined Alex Jones and explained the establishment is moving to shut down the free speech rights of its opponents, where he was quoted by InfoWars with the following statement:
“I had a Supreme Court Justice tell me it’s over for me,” Drudge told the Alex Jones Show earlier this month. “They’ve got the votes now to enforce copyright law, you’re out of there. They’re going to make it so you can’t even use headlines.”

BOTTOM LINE
Expect the attacks against Alternative Media to intensify as Washington attempts to wrest control of the narrative back to what they find acceptable because as Alternative Media continues to force the Hell Stream Media to address topics Washington would prefer remain under the radar, forcing them to bring them to their readers, albeit with Washington's spin, the pressure and attacks have increased exponentially with no end in site.
Make no mistake, this is a war against Americans that wants all the information, that want the right to learn, to research and to make their own determinations, and right now the mainstream aka Hell Stream media is losing, but we have seen attacks against those we call friends, against other Alternative Media outlets, against ANP, and I would lay odds that they are all originating, bought and paid for, by Washington.
When you try to access your favorite sites and one by one they disappear, you will know the end is near, whether it comes in the form of an economic collapse, WWIII, the dollar downfall - whatever the "event" they are planning - they won't want you to know about it until it is too late to stop it..... if it isn't already.
