Only six days after the Election bang heard around the world, and still over a month before President-Elect Trump takes office, and already the battles are being won, and promises are being kept.
CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN VOTERS
NAFTA AND TPP- As part of Donald Trump's Contract with the American Voter, which is embedded at the bottom of this article, the section labeled "Seven Actions to protect American workers," includes his intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205. That Article states simply "A Party may withdraw from this Agreement six months after it provides written notice of withdrawal to the other Parties. If a Party withdraws, the Agreement shall remain in force for the remaining Parties."
Immediately after Trump won the election, reports indicated that both Mexico and Canada had signaled their willingness to open dialogue with Trump in regards to NAFTA, fearing that if the U.S. withdrew under Article 2205, they could be completely shut out of the U.S. market. As President, Trump would not need Congress to withdraw from NAFTA, whichwent into force in 1994 under Bill Clinton and basically eliminated tariffs between the U.S. and Mexico as well as made it easier for U.S. firms to invest in Mexico, hence many of our manufacturing jobs eliminated from the U.S.
The second action listed under the same category in Trump's Contract with the American Voter, was that he would announce our withdrawal from theTrans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Once again, immediately after the election, Democratic Senator Charles E. Schumer,who is expected to be the incoming Senate minority leader, told labor leaders that the TPP would not be ratified by Congress. This was followed by multiple reports stating the Obama administration gives up on thePacific Trade Deal as GOP leaders indicated they would not consider it in a lame-duck session.
IMMIGRATION- Another part of Trump's Contract with American Voters deals with immigration, and according to Trump's CBS interview, his immediate plans are to deport illegal aliens that have committed crimes (other than just crossing into America illegally), while working to secure the border, then working with experts to determine how to deal with the rest.
Much of what Trump wants to do can also be accomplished with or without Congress, because immigration is part of national security, therefore any President has wide discretion.
While Trump would need funding from Congress for more Border patrol agents, he needs nothing from Congress to simply direct theDepartment of Homeland Security and ICE to ramp up on deportations. Furthermore, according to USA Today, "The number of refugees accepted by the U.S. each year is set exclusively by the president," and "A president has very broad, unilateral discretion to determine which refugees those fleeing war and other threats to their safety are admitted into the country."
Key Quote:
Presidents have the power to bar access to the U.S. to specific immigrants or entire classes of immigrants. That power is laid out in the Immigration and Nationality Act, which allows a president to block would-be immigrants if they are deemed "detrimental to the interests of the United States."
OBAMACARE- Another topic in the Contract is Obamacare, and we saw reports immediately after the election that Congress had already pledged swift action, but dismantling the most egregious portions of Obamacare while keeping parts such as the pre-existing clause, will take work. Dr. Ben Carson has been quoted offering his help.
"I think the replacement obviously must come first and it must be something that is very appealing and easy to understand. And then, only then, would you dismantle whats in place."
The mainstream media who did everything in their power to prevent Donald Trump from winning the election, while admittedly helping Hillary Clinton, are now panicking. Who can forget CNN anchorChris Cuomo stating on national television that "We couldn't help her anymore than we have. You know, she's just got a free ride so far from the media and we're the biggest ones promoting her campaign?"

Now the mainstream media is starting to get over their shock at Trump winning the election as it starts to recognize that their campaign against him, might come back and bite them in the butt.
The New York Times, which I am not linking to but if you want to verify my following assertions, the article title is "Where Will Trump Stand On Press Freedoms?", asserts that "the future will hold some very grim days, not just for news reporters but also for the American constitutional system that relies on a free and strong press," if Trump "keeps up the posture he displayed during the campaign all-out war footing."
WAIT, WHAT????
Who declared war on who during the primary season, then into the presidential campaign season? Who attacked Trump and his supporters, labeling them racist, sexist, xenophobics, Islamophobics, and a whole host of other names. It was the media that was exposed as colluding with the Clinton Campaign. It was the media that provided negative coverage 91 percent of the time in covering Trump after he won the GOP nomination. Five reporters from the NYT itself were part of the "off the books" get togethers with Clinton campaign staffers.
The whole NYT piece stinks of desperation and panic. A message to the writer, Mr. Ruttenberg - You reap what you sow. Get your own house in order because "we the people" don't trust you anymore.
Moving right along, The Hill reports that the press are already complaining (Read: whining) "Trump isn't adequately informing the media about his decisions as president-elect, calling it a violation of practices meant to ensure access to and transparency around the leader of the free world."
Here is a list of their complaints:
Trump did not allow reporters to travel with him to Washington on Thursday for meetings with President Obama and leaders in Congress.
His team never allowed a so-called pool of reporters and photographers to travel on his plane during the campaign.
Every modern president and president-elect has traveled with a pool, but news organizations have thus far failed to convince Trumps advisers to immediately adopt the practice.
The White House, and not Trumps team, made arrangements to have a pool of journalists cover the president-elects meeting with President Obama in the Oval Office.
Newsflash for the press pool - Just because every modern president and president-elect" has done something, doesn't mean subsequent ones have to. There is no law saying Trump has to offer you access to follow along behind him so that you can once again misrepresent everything he does, misquote him, and attempt to "spin" each moment according to your own bias.
Other complaints coming from the press pool are that "The Trump team has not provided a daily schedule of its activities, unlike the White House and previous presidential transitions," and no news briefings, as they lament "The early days of a presidential transition can be messy and disorganized, but president-elects and their top advisers have typically held media briefings anyway."
See above newsflash.... Trump owes you nothing but contempt and quit whining about what other presidents and president-elect's have done because if you have not figured it out yet, Trump is a whole new ballgame boys and girls, and your antics have been duly noted by Trump, his campaign and his supporters, so you will find no sympathy from that quarter.
As a Trump supporter, I am going to say that to me, the panic and whining from the press, the same people that verbally abused Trump and his supporters throughout the last year and half, is a major WIN for Trump!
TRUMP APPOINTMENTS
President-Elect Donald Trump's choices for Chief of Staff and Chief Strategist give a clear signal, right off the bat, of how Trump intends to run the nation, choosing Reince Priebus, an insider that knows the congressional players, who to talk to and what to do to push Trump's goals forward in Congress, alongside of Stephen Bannon, former Chairman of Breitbart News, chosen for his contrasting status as an outsider, meant to represent Trump's base, which is highly anti-establishment.
Democrats and the liberal media are having an absolute conniption fit over the Bannon choice while Trump supporters see it as a move to make sure they are represented in the Trump administration, while thePriebus choice is causing some concern from die-hard Trump supporters even understanding a Trump administration will need the help of Congress to implement much of his agenda.
While the liberal media is howling about Bannon being a "white nationalists," Priebus addresses the controversy in an interview seen below, as well as clearly depicts how both choices outline exactly how President-Elect Trump is bringing together all factions in order to run an administration that can function successfully where Trump's key goals can be accomplished.
This is a point I have made throughout the campaign, even before Trump chose Mike Pence as his Vice Presidential pick, everyone in politics is an "insider," part of the establishment, but using that status to implement Trump's agenda, Trump definitely being an outsider with no political experience, is the only way to navigate a system set up with checks and balances as our Constitutional Republic is structured.
BOTTOM LINE
From NAFTA to the TPP, to Obamacare to immigration, President-Elect Donald Trump is already seeing success. No one expected everything to fall into place at once when Trump took office, but to see the direction things are already moving in, gives us a glimpse into how his administration will be able to hit the ground running when he is sworn in.
Many of Trump supporters had their own list of priorities, and while no one can keep all the people happy all the time, it seems that Trump is showing from his latest interview to recent appointments, that he is prepared to not only lead but to do so in a reasonable manner that will not jam up Congress, and to move forward where he can accomplish the most in the shortest amount of time.
With all that said, Trump has not taken office yet, so the jury is still out.... but from what I am seeing so far, I have hope.
