When the COVID-19 pandemic first hit, while Independent Media was telling readers/followers to stock up on food, medical supplies, gloves, masks and sanitizers, the media was screaming about a shortage in toilet paper, and the more they screamed it, the more Americans emptied the shelves, while ignoring the fact that no one would need toilet paper if they couldn't eat.
Then the food shortages started, with many stores putting some of the same limits on meats and other products as they did for toilet paper.
With politics dominating the news at every turn because 2020 is a presidential election year, the MSM has started largely ignoring the food and other product shortages, in favor of the latest gaffe, comment, action or campaign blunder.
MSM outlets have billions of dollars, they should be able to keep up with both issues, as they both are important, especially with some states backtracking on reopening their businesses, schools, bars, and restaurants.
Trying to practice what we preach, ANP, along with other Independent Media sites, have been trying to keep up with both issues, and others, despite not having the resources the MSM has access to, but in researching for this piece after reading about the continuing miles-long lines at food banks in Texas, we came across something even more disturbing than just the meat and food shortages.
Actually came across more than one seriously concerning issue.
Goldie had been stabbed in the chest, according to police. After bleeding to death, the horse’s backstrap, and front and hind quarters were removed — cuts that lead police to believe Goldie was killed for her meat. Police discovered the two latest killings Saturday. The owner called police after noticing the animals were missing, and that fencing along their property had been cut. The horses were found half a mile away, butchered just like Goldie. Two more horses have been reported slaughtered in nearby jurisdictions, Pearland police says. One on May 22, the earliest known incident, and another June 29.
Heartbreaking in more than one way.

SHORTAGES IN MORE THAN JUST FOOD
While we will discuss the continuing food shortages and store limits on certain products, along with finding items still in stock for delivery, I would like to highlight something else I found when searching for "shortages 2020."
We knew about the food, and the coin shortages, both of which continue to this very day, but the trickle down effect has hit a number of other areas and products.
Walk into any Home Depot or Lowe's stores these days and there is a good chance you will be struck by what you don't see: merchandise. Many of the shelves lack products, and what the stores do have is displayed in a way to make the racks seem more full than they really are.
Evidently Amazon sells lumber as well as others items we have previously linked to... who knew? Better yet, it is still in stock.
The impact of coronavirus lockdowns has made a shortage of cans for beer and soft drinks in the US more acute. Beverage can manufacturers were already building new capacity to meet rising demand at the beginning of the year, but the projects have been interrupted by travel restrictions as consumption of canned drinks at home…
Something to keep in mind is that other industries depend on aluminum cans for packaging as well, such as canned fruits, vegetables and meats, etc.
The reasoning given behind the beverage can shortages is the mandatory closing of businesses that usually order in bulk, leaving consumers to purchase more canned beverages for home consumption.
The same exact thing is happening with canned goods. Shoppers, forced to eat more meals at home, are stocking up on canned goods as well as other items, which in turn is putting pressure on the supply chain.
Notice less canned goods stocked at the grocers? Where there used to be for, five rows of product, with more behind the front row, now only has the front row or is only two deep? Empty spaces throughout the store for different products?
We cannot state this enough: Prepare early and then you will not be stuck with bare cubbards, forced to hit food giveaways or food banks when times get hard, or jobs are lost, as seen in Texas.
Make no mistake, I am not blaming Texans for their situation, but had they been prepping for past few years, they would not be worried where their next meal is coming from right now.
The MSM is responsible for that because unlike Independent Media, they waited until the shortages began to start warning people to stock up.
Too little, too late.
Appliance shortages: "Trying to buy a freezer? National appliance shortage has many on waiting lists."
Residents are reporting that refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers are out of stock with a months-long wait for orders across the region. Some are finding orders made in spring being cancelled as retailers grapple with the lack of supply. Others are being told outright that it’s going to take much longer than usual to order and install appliances. “It’s like coming to work with handcuffs on,” David Tarpley, a sales representative with Sargent Appliance in Clinton Township, said. “We had someone come in this weekend who wanted a white side-by-side fridge the same day. We laughed. If we ordered that today, it might be here by the end of August.”
Freezers seem to be in higher demand that anything else mentioned by way of appliances, but never hurts to look through the available appliances' search page to see if there is anything else needed to prepare for round two of lockdowns.
We cannot help much there as it is hard to find online, but readers are encouraged to share resources to help each other stock up on ammo. Always a good idea to be prepared to protect your stock of emergency items.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic was listed as a pandemic, Independent Media highly recommended people stock up on gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, toilet paper and paper towels. Readers did so, so they were not freaking out and panic shopping when the MSM finally deigned to let them know there was an issue and to stock up.
If there are to be more lockdowns, and in some states they have already delayed fully reopening, then now would be a good time to restock your supply.
AS always, readers should feel free to email me at wakeupamerica.spree@gmail.com with any items you are having trouble finding locally, and we will attempt to find them online for you.
BOTTOM LINE
Americans that get the majority of their news from the establishment media are usually the last to be told to stock up, creating an atmosphere of fear, which in turns has them panic shopping, emptying shelves, and so some, forced to get food from giveaways and food banks.
Independent Media readers fared much better during the first lockdowns, and by restocking, or just topping off supplies, they will do so again.
Also it bears noting that the shortages, the limits on the sale of some meats and other items, will not be disappearing for quite a while, because in many cases, the food is no longer there to be processed as many ranchers and farmers had been forced to destroy their crops and kill their livestock because they couldn't get it processed.
Below the last video is a list of items that are still in stock. Items linked in previous articles that have become unavailable have been removed from the list.
[Editors Note] If any product above sells out, please contact ANP so I can remove them from the list.
