A curious verse in the New Testament has spurred the imaginations of many writers and some say, has led them far astray from what the writer intended. Here’s the verse:
Mt 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
If you read the verse in context it goes on to say the people will be living normal lives and totally unaware of what is about to happen when without further warning the Lord returns in the clouds. Other writers however (and they seem to make a persuasive case) go a lot farther than what we consider “normal.” They maintain we need to consider more of the conditions present in the days of Noah. Many books have been written that link the above verse to another rather avoided passage in the Old Testament that tells us that just before (and also after) Noah’s Day, giants roamed the earth. That particular teaching is found in Genesis 6:1-4.
Ge 6:1 ¶ And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose, 3 ¶ And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.4 ¶ There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
There are two basic camps and a lot of argument regarding what Genesis means, one school holding that the “sons of God” were actually the sons of Seth (Adam’s 3rd son) because, they say fallen angels would not be able to mate with human women citing Matthew, Mark and Luke, all teaching that angels don’t marry, nor are they given in marriage. Therefore, they conclude the “righteous sons of Seth” married the fallen daughters of Cain and that’s why men thought about evil “continually.” (Ge 6:5)
On the other hand, many modern students and writers say, “No, the meaning is plain.” And point out that in several other verses “the sons of God” are obviously referring to angels. So the debate increases in both intensity and tempo. This writer can see both sides but believes the more literal, modern interpretation is probably closer to the truth. In case that view is true (fallen angels mated with human women) what are the ramifications? Are we going to be invaded by an army of giants in the last days seeking out human women to take as mates? If so, are there signs today it is actually happening? Here’s an intriguing comment about it taken from a website called Escape All These Things.:
Just as with the rapture timing question, not everyone agrees on what the Nephilim were. Just as the majority of Christians believe in a pretrib rapture, I'd bet the majority of Christians doubt the nephilim really are giants or that the "sons of God" who parented them are angels. Just like the idea of a post-trib rapture, it's too scary for the average Christian to believe that God would allow such ghastly horrors as evil angels to roam freely and create freakish monsters.
If you go with the fallen angel theory you have entered a world where the connections to another realm can be as numerous as threads in a cobweb. There are dozens of credible researchers who are traversing the world looking for clues of our departed giants and apparently are having no trouble cataloguing such pointers by the score. There are many film crews unearthing clues in South America, North America, the four corners of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado and the numerous Indian ruins in that area. Teams are also visiting different sites in the Eastern Hemisphere, in particular Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Italy. Researchers Timothy Alberino and Steve Quayle in their film series “True Legends” also report they have also encountered stiff resistance by the Catholic Church in their explorations looking for evidence of the existence of giants. L.A. Marzulli also has produced a film series called “The Watchers.”
2Sa 21:20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
Are there giants walking around today? The Bible says “and after that,” and we know Joshua encountered a race of giants when Israel returned to the Promised Land after wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. There are also apparently giants alive today because one military team in Afghanistan apparently had to kill one in 2002 whose body was subsequently flown back to the United States, only to vanish in the bottomless black hole called the Smithsonian. There are many stories about it and here is a link to a video showing an interview with one of the soldiers part of the team that killed the monster.

The debunking website that calls itself “snopes” tries to discount the story but as usual comes across as an unconvincing globalist mouthpiece.
When you study Genesis Six, usually quoted as 6:1-4 (but to get the sense of WHY the Almighty chose to destroy it all, you also need to include verses 5-7)
Ge 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 ¶ And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
So we see why God thought it necessary (only evil continually) to engulf the entire earth in a flood that lasted for a year and a week, it becomes believable that global destruction was the only way to clean up our DNA and give us humans a fresh start. Even then, God is His mercy gave mankind another 120 years to clean up their act before He moved to eradicate the polluted humans by a universal flood. A flood by the way, that completely re-formed the topography of the earth laying down thousands of feet of sediments with perfectly smooth joints between layers, consistent with very short time periods between layers.
For those who scoff at a global deluge, just consider the sedimentary mountains that cover more than half of our land area and ask yourself a simple question: If it took “millions of years” to lay down these formations, why aren’t there erosional features such as gulleys or canyons between layers?” The absence of such marks are clear evidence of rapid sequential layering, rather than slow deposits over long periods of time which by necessity, would have produced evidence of erosion.
So as we march on down toward our date with destiny, men will continue to delude themselves, choosing to believe the evolutionist lies rather than accepting the simple biblical truth. We are a recently created people. Evolution is a lie and those who choose to believe it have been deceived, refusing to examine the evidence for a young earth without a pre-conception of “millions of years.”
In addition to actual skeletons found all over the world there is an abundance of newspaper evidence. In the 1800s it was common for publications of the day to publish first hand accounts by people who had discovered ancient gigantic bones with many of them exhibited in the carnivals or fairs of the day.
Add to that, there are Indian (particularly the Anasazi) pictographs scattered across the world (in abundance in the American southwest) with many showing giant figures alongside normal sized men, and also pictographs of six digit giant hands and feet. One prominent display can be found on the highway between Moab and Monticello, Utah, as well as many near Mesa Verde, Colorado and different New Mexico ruins like Chaco Canyon. Did giants roam the earth before and also after Noah’s Flood? Yes they did and it seems their pollution of the human race was at least part of the motivation for God to cleanse the earth of such. At one time every school child was familiar with the story of David and Goliath but nowadays some churches are probably supplying crying rooms for the giant fans.
In spite of the obvious danger, scientists today are reportedly busy in their laboratories striving to once again bring forth such monstrosities on the earth. As it was in the days of Noah it may well be again, not too far down the road of our present world.
This is scary stuff as multiple labs across the world are experimenting with both plant and animal life, creating chimeras (which are a blend of two different sets of DNA found in one animal or plant). Can laboratory newly created chemeric giants be far behind? Mankind seems bent on its own destruction and the day of reckoning, judgment by God cannot be far behind.
Ro 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
