Shortly after the 6 minute mark, John clears up a great misperception about damage to many methods of transportation if an EMP strikes: If a motor vehicle IS NOT RUNNING when the EMP strikes, there will be NO DAMAGE to that vehicle we are told. In fact, he also tells us that if the vehicle you are driving IS running, it will likely only sustain minor damage to the electrical system and should allow you to get back home or wherever you are going. John then gets into the bad news; the oil refineries will be unable to pump any more gas for a very, very long time.
John gets into harsh realities at the 16 minute mark by telling us that many experts are warning that an EMP strike on America, whether natural or via warfare, is a WHEN and not an 'if' and that within the first several days, weeks, months and year, hundreds of millions of Americans could die due to our complete dependence upon the existing infrastructure, a loss of which immediately sets society back over 100 years.
At the 19 minute mark John takes a strange call from a person who claims that the government is installing devices into our roadways that will allow them to CAUSE an electrical magnetic pulse on the highways, causing every vehicle to be shut down immediately. While John argues against that possibility, claiming that it will also shut down the government's ability to do what they need to do while bringing traffic to a standstill, John also brings up several reasons why the government would like to have such a tool while also telling us a couple of govt vehicles with armed men parked upon the sides of the roadways would allow them to accomplish the same result.
