Mapping The Connections Between A Designated Domestic Terror Group And The MSM: Reporters From Liberal Outlets Busted Working With Dangerous Antifa Members

By Susan Duclos - All News PipeLine

Dr. Eoin Lenihan, who studies Curriculum Development, International Education and Online Extremism, and authored "Let's Teach! : A Guide for New and Innovative Educators," mapped the online social interactions of of 58,254 Antifa Twitter accounts and found that journalists from liberal publications such as Huffington Post and The Guardian, worked hand in hand with known Antifa members.

Dr. Lenihan published his results, with screen shots, graphs and examples of the working relationsip between the journalists and the known, self-identified Antifa accounts, via a Twitter thread, showing the connections, and the fact that at least one journalist from Huffpo was used to nationally dox (release personal information) of those targeted by Antifa members, well before law enforcement investigation found those people either innocent or guilty.

ANTIFA VIOLENCE CLASSIFIED AS DOMESTIC TERROR BY DHS, FBI

Before getting into those connections that Dr. Lenihan exposes, a brief look at who and what Antifa is.

Antifa , short for "anti-fascist" groups use violence to suppress the free speech of anyone they disagree with ideologically, meaning they call themselves anti-fascist but use the same fascist tactics of those they claim to be against. They label all individuals that disagree with their philosophy as "fascist," and claim that violence against those individuals or groups is justified and "necessary."

In a confidential 2016 joint intelligence assessment by DHS and the FBI, Antifa's activities were formally classified as "domestic terrorist violence."

Previously unreported documents disclose that by April 2016, authorities believed that “anarchist extremists” were the primary instigators of violence at public rallies against a range of targets. They were blamed by authorities for attacks on the police, government and political institutions, along with symbols of “the capitalist system,” racism, social injustice and fascism, according to a confidential 2016 joint intelligence assessment by DHS and the FBI.

While the examples of Antifa violently attacking people are too numerous to detail in one article, a prime example can be seen below as Berkeley middle school teacher Yvette Felarca attacks a man participating in a permitted neo-Nazi rally in 2016, which she was later charged with felony assault and misdemeanor inciting a riot, after her actions were caught on camera. That case is still going through the court system.

MAPPING JOURNALISTS CONNECTIONS TO ANTIFA

While we have often seen members of the mainstream media defending Antifa (yes, you CNN!) and giving a platform to known Antifa supporters, Dr. Lenihan's long thread detailing the close relationships between journalists from liberal outlets and known Antifa members is the most in-depth mapping that has been done to date, proving that members of the liberal press are actively communicating with Antifa members and helping them in numerous ways.

First, Dr. Lenihan's description of the mapping process with his graphs showing his work:

We mapped the social interactions of 58,254 Antifa affiliated accounts on Twitter based on an initial seed of 16 self-identifying and verifiable Antifa accounts (and Mark Bray who chose not to confirm if he is a member of Antifa but whose book makes a solid case for inclusion).

Note: Bray is the author of Antifa: The Antifascist Handbook, and donated 50 percent of his profits to the Antifa International Defense Fund.

More from Lenihan's thread:

We reduced the dataset to 1.65% of all 58,254 accounts - leaving us with 962 accounts. These were the 1.65% most connected Antifa and Antifa associated accounts on Twitter. Each had a minimum of 8 connections within the initial dataset, most having many more. Here I just want to focus on those Twitter verified accounts that made it into this dataset of the most connected Antifa and Antifa associated accounts on Twitter. Here you can see them highlighted in green.

The point here is the Doctor did his homework and an in-depth analysis. He then went on to provide examples of account that self identify as Antifa, before detailing the connections with the liberal journalists and the type of working relationship they apparently formed.

Below will detail what we found to be the most egregious examples, but readers are encouraged to go through the entire thread (all on one page at ThreadReader) to highlight what they feel is the most concerning in the comment section below.

For example, Twitter verified senior reporter for HuffPo, Christopher Mathais, who claims in his bio that he covers "far right, disinformation, and hate," spread the online doxxes (Antifa's revealing of personal information) of members of Identity Europa.

Via Dr. Lenihan:

At the time of writing he had no idea of their innocence or guilt and as of his pinned tweet, the matter is still only under investigation. How he came to dox these individuals before they were afforded any due process is interesting...

Antifascist news outlet @UR_Ninja leaked discord servers from an Identity Europa server in April and Mathias, took them from there. It's a common theme. Mattias lets Antifa doxers do the heavy work, he does the national level doxing.

Dr. Lenihan also highlights another of Mathais' reports, showing a screen shot of the HuffPo headline under Mathais' byline, which claims they are outing a "Prominent white supremacist," which was an EMT in Virgina, proudly boasting "now the state is investigating him." He named the man, claimed he ran a neo-Nazi podcast comparing black patients to animals.

The problem is that the state's investigation cleared the man of any wrong doing,  yet Mathais along with his Antifa network, doxxed the man before the investigation was even completed, forever tainting him with the false reports.

Dr. Lenihan describes the process:

What happens here is that Mathias harvests info from his Antifa network to cast serious allegations against individuals with potentially career shattering consequences and, through doxing, opens up the real chance of violence and serious harm against them...

I dislike white supremacists & fascists. There is no place for them in society. The problem with Matthias' approach is that apart from having a poor conviction rate against the people he doxes, he's relying on doxes & info from people who's definition of fascist is questionable.

Note, via that long thread: "Mathias is the most connected journalist in the entire dataset. He has an incredible 14 degree range of connections within the dataset. That means he is in the top 0.15% of Antifa and Antifa associated accounts."

Which brings us to the next data point. Identity Europa has been labeled an extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, a groups that regularly labels conservatives  and religious groups as "extremists," simply because of their conservative or religious ideology. the SPLC recently had to pay $3.375 million to Maajid Nawaz's Quilliam Foundation, after wrongly defaming him as an extremist."

Interestingly, another journalist among the top 2 percent with connections to Antifa groups online, is chief investigative reporter for the SPLC Matthew Hayden.

Dr. Lenihan also communicated with two defectors from a doxing collective who said a HuffPo writer offered cash for doxxes.

Here the doxer who claimed he has an @HuffPost journalist on call admits that the individual they are doxing is not a white supremacist or fascist but they'll give it to the HuffPo writer because it have been incentivised.

They provided him of screen shots of private messages, names blocked out, which is why the specific writers are not identified by Lenihan.

DoxinfoAntifa2.jpg

A @HuffPo writer incentivised Antifascist doxers to provide him with the doxes of Nazis. The doxer admitting here in DMs provided by a member of the group, clerly states they had no Nazis so people they had a grudge against will do.

Notice how the eager doxer states that "we got a major publication on his ass" after clearly stating the person they doxed isn't a Nazi. I can't confirm which HuffPo writer incentivised Nazi hunting but there's at least one whose bylines are all extended doxes.

Readers are encouraged to read the entire thread from Dr. Lenihan.

BOTTOM LINE

Liberal media is not only defending, justifying and trying to protect violent Antifa members and groups, but we now see that in many cases, they are actively using them as "sources," and even worse, doing Antifa's heavy lifting nationally to spread hate against conservatives.

Why on earth are writers for liberal outlets using a group whose activities are listed as "domestic terrorist violence" by the FBI and DHS, as their sources?

Perhaps this is one of the reasons that liberal outlets over the past year has seen some going bust, while others have been forced to dramatically reduce their costs and laying off employees.
