A massive fireball streaked across the sky on Thursday evening, seen clearly in Buenos Aires, and also spotted in parts of Brazil and Uruguay, resulted in a Twitter hashtag of #CieloVerde which was immediately shared over 55 thousand times according to Vocativ.
Described as "turning the night skies green, Argentina media called it a "passage of a meteor" that caused the phenomenon.
Incredibly, the sky of Buenos Aires for a few seconds, dyed green , due to the passage of a meteor that broke through the clouds to cause this phenomenon only, a lucky few were direct witnesses. As was the case of journalist, Eddie Fitte , who shared his experience through Twitter:
