Media Week Of Hell: Wapo Sued For $250 Million By Covington Kid,  FBI Investigating Jussie Smollett For Fake 'White Powder' Letter After His Arrest For Hate Hoax

(Two huge media fails: Covington Catholic student, Jussie Smollett 'hate' coverage)

By Susan Duclos -  All News PipeLine

On Wednesday we saw the 38 page Sandmann lawsuit, where the family of Nicholas Sandmann, the MAGA hat wearing Covington Catholic student that was maliciously brutalized by the media, which resulted in threats of violence and death against Covington Catholic students, is suing the Washington Post, the first of many outlets, celebrities and high profile social media users, for a whopping $250 million. Substantial compensatory damages in an amount not less than Fifty Million Dollars ($50,000,000.00) and punitive damages in an amount not less than Two Hundred Million Dollars ($200,000,000.00). The $250,000,000 being asked for is the exact amount Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos paid to buy the Washington Post.

The lawsuit is embedded lower down in the article.

On Thursday I watched the brutal Chicago PD press conference, along with the question and answer period afterward, where the Chicago PD Superintendent Eddie Johnson blasted not only Empire actor Jussie Smollett for staging an "attack" against himself in order to claim that MAGA supporters jumped him at 2 am in the morning while he was strolling back to his apartment from getting a Subway sandwich, used racial and homophobic slurs against him, and put a rope around his neck, but the superindent also blasted the liberal establishment media for giving more attention to the Smollett fake hate hoax than they do legitimate Chicago murder victims.

The full press conference is embedded at the bottom of this article.

The commonality between the two stories is the media's abject failure in investigative reporting, and how they instantly push every narrative without any type of fact-checking, that negatively impacts conservatives and Trump supporters, which is also mentioned in the Sandmann family lawsuit against Washington Post. On page 2, it states "The Post ignored basic journalist standards because it wanted to advance its  well-known and easily documented, biased agenda against President Donald J. Trump (“the President”) by impugning individuals perceived to be supporters of the President."

THE HELL THE MEDIA IS IN RIGHT NOW IS SELF-INFLICTED

As many already know, the Covington Catholic students were accused by the media, led by the Washington Post, of "surrounding" a Native America elder, who was described as a "Vietnam veteran," "mocking him," and "taunting him." The media used a selectively edited small clip taken from a nearly two-hour full video, which was released by the time the media started writing their "MAGA supporters bad" narrative.

In the lawsuit, the lawyers for the Sandmann family, since the media made him the face of those Covington Catholic students,  accuse Washington Post of "modern-day form of McCarthyism by competing with CNN and NBC, among others, to claim leadership of a mainstream and social media mob of bullies  which attacked, vilified, and threatened Nicholas Sandmann (“Nicholas”), an innocent secondary school child."

The lawsuit also accuses the post of "wrongfully targeted and bullied Nicholas because he was the white, Catholic student wearing a red “Make America Great Again” souvenir cap on a school field trip....." It lists multiple stories from Wapo, even after the full video, which showed the students did not support the Indian man, he approached them, they did not mock or taught him, and the man was a veteran but not a Vietnam veteran.

Everything the media reported, and continued to report was patently false, as was concluded by a third party investigation firm for the Covington Diocese.

Attorney Alan Dershowitz, Harvard Law school professor and a self-admitted Hillary Clinton supporter has read the lawsuit and says the Covington Catholic student has 'reasonable case' against Washington Post.

"I'd be interested to see how the case unfolds. I mean they're asking for a lot of money, I don't think that's going to be taken too seriously," he said. "But I do think that they have a significant case and it will be interesting to see how the Post defends against their reporting in the case."

"It's important to air this issue out in the public, and one of the functions that a suit like this has is to lay it all out in the public," he continued. "The media has to be responsible for their reporting particularly when you have kids who have no ability generally to defend themselves against media reporting."

Sandmann attorney L. Lin Wood has subsequently said that over the course of the next two years, there are possibly hundreds of other entities, including journalists, other news outlets, celebrities and other social media users with a high amount of followers, that also slandered, defamed, and in some cases threatened the Covinton Catholic students, and they would be filing lawsuits against a high number of them.

Read the full 38 page lawsuit embedded below, before we go on to the bombshell news of Smollett's arrest, and the news conference which revealed much more about what Smollett did, how he did it, and why, including that the investigation into the fake "white powder"  letter is being handled by the FBI.

Sandmann's lawsuit  on Scribd

Jussie Smollett was arrested after he surrendered himself to the Chicago PD in the early morning hours on Thursday. He is charged with felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report on January 29, 2019, claiming he was the victim of a hate crime attack against his person.

For over two weeks the media hammered home the "attack," based on nothing but Smollett's claim, blaming white Trump supporters that Smollett said yelled "This is MAGA country," pushing the false narrative that Trump supporters are racist and homophobic. Democrat politicians jumped on to the narrative claiming it was a "modern day lynching," with two high level Democrat politicians, Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff later deleting their tweets which were sympathetic to Smollet.

During the press conference the Chicgo PD held on Thursday, a number of additional facts were added to the saga, as the superintendent took the opportunity to blast the media for their coverage, and Smollett for wasting department resources on a hate hoax.

They walked the media, and the public through the time line of the police investigation, including the hunt for the two persons of interest, which happened to not be white Trump supporters, but black friends of Smollett, who admitted to police after they were arrested, that the whole event was planned and paid for by Smollett himself.

We also learn the police think the cuts on Smollett's face were self-inflicted. The threatening hate letter that arrived at Fox Studios for Smollett was also arranged and sent by Smollett. Smollett was also foolish enough to pay the two Nigerian brothers by check, which the police also have evidence of. The motive according to the PD was Smollett felt was "dissatisfied" with his salary from the Fox show Empire, and the letter (that he sent!) didn't garner enough attention, so he staged the attack.

One of the most interesting points I noted during the press conference came during the question and answer time towards the end, when the Superintendent was asked about the investigation into the hate letter sent to Smollett, the answer was "That's the FBI's investigation, So CPD doesn't comment on the FBI's investigation.

That can be seen at around the 17:40 minute mark in the video below.

I found that to be interesting because while staging the fake attack against himself, Smollett is getting what amounts to a slap on the wrist with the felony disorderly conduct charge, which will likely result in no prison time, despite the potential of a three year maximum sentence, but the letter which included a "white powder," later found to be crushed Tylenol, via the U.S. postal service, is a federal investigation and as previous examples indicate, that could carry heavier penalty.

In the case of Daniel Frisiello, who sent threatening letters with "white powder" to Donald Trump Jr. and a number of other people, the U.S. Attorneys Office for the State of Massachusetts, described the potential penalty as "The charge of false information and hoaxes provides for a sentence of no greater than five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors."

On Thursday, February 21, 2019, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa announced the sentencing of Mondell V. Olson, who mailed a "powder" letter to Nevada schools. He was was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison to be followed by three years of supervised release for the offense of false information and hoaxes, or mailing a ‘powder letter’ to the Nevada Schools.

Should the Feds want to make an example of Smollett, he could very well be facing federal prison.

BOTTOM LINE - THE MEDIA MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE

Smollett may very well be professionally ruined, and could be facing actual jail time, if not from the staged attack, than the "powder letter" hoax mailed to Fox studios, but what about the media?

Time after time we have seen them jump on fake hate hoaxes, all because it fit their bias and the narrative they want to push, humiliated by their knee-jerk reactions to a MAGA hat, or any mention that the "crime" was perpetrated by a MAGA supporter, without bothering to do even the basic amount of investigating, yet they continue to claim they are the victims when they are accused of bias, fake news, and being the enemy of the people.

Some in fact, are still defending Smollet, such as CNN's Don Lemon who claimed on Wednesday that staging the attack, lying to police, and going on television to lie to the American people, was "not his fault," because he may have gotten bad advice. Why is Lemon so upset? Not because they were all conned by Smollett by giving them a narrative they couldn't resist running with, but because now that Smollett has now been arrested "Sean Hannity is going to eat Jussie Smollett’s lunch every single second. Tucker Carlson is going to eat Jussie Smollett’s lunch every single second. The President of the United States is going to eat his lunch.”

He is more upset Trump supporters were vindicated than he is about Smollett's hate hoax.

The only way the establishment media is going to ever regain any type of credibility, is to clean the slate, start mass firing every single journalist that produces fake news..... and we know that isn't going to happen, so the public must hold them accountable by turning them off.

Both set of Lemon's statements are below, other than a 40+ minute clip of the entire segment, I couldn't find them in one clip, so the two very short clips below, show both his claiming it isn't Smollett's "fault," in the first clip, and the references to Hannity, Carlson and the President is shown in the second clip.
