Throughout recent history experts have continued to warn that California is overdue for "The Big One," and while advanced technology still cannot predict exact dates, it hasn't stopped some experts from trying and while those date setters have been wrong, their predictions, their studies, and their determination that portions of California will be "toast" when it does occur, are all similar because according to historical data..... it is going to happen.
In September it was Professor David Schwartz, president of the Seismological Association Harvard University who issued a red alert to the United States Geological Survey predicting a massive Earthquake would hit the territory of North America. His prediction was for the end of September and while that never materialized on the dates he believed it would, the research showing the San Andreas Fault and the Cascadia subduction zone now have the same levels of stress that led to the great MEGATERRE MOTO happened in 1700, still applies.
Also in September 2015, after the 8.3 magnitude earthquake hit Chile, a chilling statement was made by FEMA director Kenneth Murphy about the vulnerabilities for cities along the West Coast if the Cascadia fault line gets stoked by the earthquake, leading to the worst disaster, as he asserted "Our operating assumption is that everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast. This is one time that I'm hoping all the science is wrong, and it won't happen for another thousand years."
"While this area is susceptible to a lot of danger, scientists are clear that we can take some measures to address it."OSSPAC estimates that in the I-5 corridor it will take between one and three months after the earthquake to restore electricity, a month to a year to restore drinking water and sewer service, six months to a year to restore major highways, and eighteen months to restore health-care facilities. It's a major fault line. It's going to produce a very major earthquake. The response to that should not be blind panic or obliviousness. You're better off being prepared than sticking your head in the sand," said Kathryn Schulz, journalist and writer of "The Really Big One," according to KGW.
FEMA Director Murphy isn't the only one that has warned of California's vulnerability and the dire consequences and aftermath of a massive Mega Quake striking, as we are reminded of Dr Lucy Jones, a science adviser for risk reduction for the U.S. Geology Service in late 2013, who made it very clear that "Southern California, particularly Los Angeles, is not ready for the major impact of a high-magnitude earthquake shifting the San Andreas fault."
Dr Lucy Jones, a science adviser for risk reduction for the U.S. Geology Service, said this week. "We are risking the ends of our cities."
Jones' remarks came during a lecture to the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, during which her lecture, "Imagine America Without Los Angeles," painted a horrifying picture of the state's future, reports CBS affiliate KCAL9. h
The consquences of what will happen after "The Big One" are not in dispute as every expert agrees they will be devastating.... it is the timing that is in dispute, while all agree California is overdue, historically speaking, for what is coming, no one truly knows when it will happen.
With that said, the timing of the latest warning coming from London-educated nuclear engineer Dr Mehran Keshe, who says North and South America will "split" and mega tsunamis could "strike America and Asia killing 40 million people", 20 million of them on the west coast of the U.S. alone, in conjunction with the latest headlines of nearly 200 earthquakes shaking San Ramon Valley in California.... in one day, should have people sitting up and taking notice and more importantly, preparing.
Iranian-born Dr Keshe, who runs the Keshe Foundation, claims a series of quakes between 6 and 8.3 magnitude in the last month were the beginning of the mega quake, which he claims could come any time between now and next autumn.
Directly after the 8.3 magnitude earthquake hit Chile, Dr. Keshe clarified, expanded on and explained statements he had made prior to that Chile earthquake and although that video was deleted shortly after it was published, portions of it have been captured and republished..... shown below.
