Memphis Has A Known Crime Problem So President Trump Is Activating The NG To Help Solve It, VP Vance Hosted The Charlie Kirk Show, Patriot George Ross, And More
On September 15, 2025, the White House published the article Memphis Has a Crime Problem - and Residents Agree blaming failed Democratic policies for Memphis having the highest rate of violent crime in the country. Although I think there is an excellent argument for some of the other cities not reporting crime or reporting reduced charges skewing their crime statistics, like DC was accused of doing. The article goes on to quote residents saying they are grateful the NG will be in their city. The article also lists 31 crime headlines between June 12, 2025 and September 15, 2025. On September 15, 2025, President Trump signed the Memorandum Restoring Law and Order in Memphis addressed to the Secretaries of Treasury, War, Health & Human Services, Housing & Urban Development, Transportation, Homeland Security; Attorney General, Administrator of Drug Enforcement, US Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee; and the Directors of United States Marshals Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives, and Homeland Security Investigations. Section 1 explains the background of the need to address crime in the City of Memphis, Tennessee.
Section 2 creates the Memphis Safe Task Force with the objective to end street and violent crime through promotion and facilitation of hypervigilant policing, aggressive prosecution, complex investigations, financial enforcement, and large-scale saturation of law enforcement officials in besieged neighborhoods. The Chair of the Task Force will be appointed by the Attorney General.
Section 3 mobilizes the NG. Under section 502 of title 32 USC (required drills and field exercises) , the Secretary of War shall request of the Tennessee Governor that the Tennessee NG be made available to support public safety and law enforcement operations in Memphis.

Trump Restores Law and Order in Memphis further explains that the goal of the memorandum is to make Memphis safe again through establishing the Task Force, activating & providing specialized training to the TN NG, and deploying the NG in coordination with State Governors to support these efforts. The President, The TN Governor, TN Congressmen and women, and the residents of Memphis all know that law and order needs to be restored in order for Memphis to be made safe again. All of this is part of the overall directive from President Trump to Make America Safe Again using Federal resources, in addition to State, County, & City resources, to stop the violence plaguing our country.
