Was Newsweek's Recent 'Coming Pole Flip' And 'Planet-Wide Blackout' Story A Solemn, Ominous Warning To Prepare For TEOTWAWKI Or 'Utter Codswallop'?

Are They Conditioning Us To Expect A Global 'Grid Down Scenario'?

In this new story over at Ready Nutrition that Steve Quayle linked to on his website on Friday, Jeremiah Johnson reports NASA has finally admitted to a long-time concern of those paying attention: the Earth’s poles may be closing in on shifting. And while some have long called a possible pole flip on Earth a 'tinfoil hat conspiracy theory', Johnson's story uses this Newsweek story as his source, a story which reports such a shift could be absolutely devastating, unleashing a combination of powerful space particles, like unfiltered solar rays, cosmic rays and ultraviolet B rays that would smash through our battered ozone layer and lead us the way of the dinosaurs.

While also reported within the Newsweek story was that historically, our planet's North and South magnetic poles have flipped approximately every 200,000 to 300,000 years, the story goes on to report that it's been about 780,000 years since the last known flip, putting us overdue for one by nearly 500,000 years or more.

Also warning that such a flip could lead to a cascading, massive blackout across the planet, the Sun reports that some experts are concerned that parts of our planet Earth could be rendered uninhabitable by the reversal, causing total chaos and starvation though Science 2.0 reports that claim is a bunch of useless hype and no such chaos will be forthcoming.

And while devastating earthquakes continue to strike our planet while the 'ring of fire' roaring suggests that our planet is still going through tectonic changes, have websites such as Newsweek and Science Alert fallen for 'utter codswallop'?

From the Science 2.0 story attempting to debunk the potential catastrophe, a debunking attempt we see below that actually helps to CONFIRM many of the points that are emphasized within the Newsweek and Science Alert stories.:

NO NO NO - A Magnetic Pole Flip Will Not Make Parts Of Earth Uninhabitable

This has been running in numerous sensationalist press stories and other outlets with less careful journalists. It’s all based on a story in Undark by a journalist promoting their new book. And it is full of nonsense, utter codswallop. (British Slang for rubbish!)

Here is the original story: The Magnetic Field Is Shifting. The Poles May Flip. This Could Get Bad. (Undark)

This is written by a journalist who has written a good historical book - she got a review in Nature. But the science in this article is appalling. The author just isn’t a scientist and has misunderstood some of her material sadly. Articles like this scare vulnerable people and I have had numerous PM's from people having panic attacks about it over the last few days.

There are many serious errors in the article.

While the author of the debunking Science 2.0 story  goes on to claim that such a reversal is still likely 100's of years away, he also suggest that studies of previous reversals show the main risk is increased UV as a result of the ozone layer damaged by repeated solar storms. Warning that such a thing would mean that we'd need to wear more sunblock cream on sunny days, the author of the story then helps to confirm why others are so concerned.:

The risks from solar storms are always present, whether it’s a magnetic reversal or not. The main risk of a solar storm is of GPS satellites glitching for hours, recovering once it is over - and of power cuts. We used to think that the power cuts could be severe and cost getting on for a trillion dollars and risk power cut for months or longer.

And while the author believes that such glitches in our electrical grid would only last hours, reporting that our electrical grid is much more resilient than many think, Science Alert reports some experts believe that the worldwide blackouts caused by such solar storms could last for decades.  From their story.:

Without functioning electric grids, we couldn't use cell phones, household appliances, and so much more. The sudden blackouts would have hospitals scrambling for backup power sources, putting countless lives at risk.

GPS technology would also be compromised, affecting everything from military operations to our ability navigate our cars.

Additionally, we are becoming more reliant on technology by the day, with autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence (AI), and other innovations all advancing rapidly.

By the time a pole switch did take place, these innovations could be a regular part of our daily lives, furthering the potential for disruption.

It's true that we live in an age where data rules all. From how we communicate to how we get around to how our governments and critical facilities run, it all comes down to how we send and store data, so if the world's satellites are damaged or rendered nonfunctional, life as we know it could forever change.

With the Science Alert story also reporting that "our planet's poles have been switching for millions of years and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future", we completely agree with their conclusion:

The best thing we can do is prepare now so we're ready the next time it happens.

And while we'd never suggest anybody lose any sleep over waiting for that to happen, if we prepare as Jeremiah Johnson suggests in this Ready Nutrition story then we'll not only be preparing for the kind of solar storms that may or may not ever come in our lifetimes but will also put ourselves and our families in a better position to survive a nuclear war or an EMP.

Former Green Beret Johnson suggests we read Cresson Kearney highly recommended book “Nuclear War Survival Skills” as we'll be killing two birds with one stone with nuclear tensions with North Korea, Russia and China already high.

And while according to this recent National Geographic story about the potential magnetic flip for the Earth "we're not all dooomed", they also go on to report that there is some fascinating science behind the reports that the Earth's poles may soon flip. From the National Geographic story:

So there’s nothing at all to worry about? Not exactly.

It’s true that when the poles do reverse, Earth’s magnetic field could get weaker—but its strength is already quite variable, so that’s not necessarily unusual, and there’s no indication it will vanish entirely, according to NASA. Why? Because it never has.

However, if the magnetic field gets substantially weaker and stays that way for an appreciable amount of time Earth will be less protected from the oodles of high-energy particles that are constantly flying around in space. This means that everything on the planet will be exposed to higher levels of radiation, which over time could produce an increase in diseases like cancer, as well as harm delicate spacecraft and power grids on Earth.

So there we go again with warnings of our power grid potentially being harmed and as we've long warned on ANP, America's total dependence upon electrical power and our electrical grid is absolutely our biggest achilles heel.

As Susan Duclos reported on ANP back on June 30th of 2017an unpublished internal FEMA report has finally been obtained via an FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request, which highlights the extent of damage a major solar storm, what they call the "100 year geomagnetic storm," would do to critical infrastructure in the U.S., including "Significant power grid collapses," which "could require 4-10 years to fully restore."

Codswallop? Or are we simply being conditioned to expect a massive, grid down scenario?

Whether due to an electromagnetic pulse attack, a cyber attack upon our electrical infrastructure or catastrophic solar storms that take down the grid for an extended period of time, a long-term outage of electrical power here in America would quickly wreak havoc nationwide as unprepared Americans suddenly realize food doesn't magically appear in stores for us to purchase for our next meals.

With all experts in the field agreeing that a flip of the Earth's magnetic poles is long overdue, we're told one thing we should watch out for is the behavior of animals, particularly birds, which use their own 'internal GPS systems' in flying and long distance migration. In several recent stories sent to ANP by a concerned reader, we learn of hundreds of birds simply falling out of the sky in Utah as also heard in the final video below.

birdpocalypse.jpg

As WYFF in Draper, Utah reported on Feburary 1st, more than 200 birds fell from the sky and onto the street in a Utah city.

“It’s one of the rarest things I’ve ever heard of,” Sgt. Chad Carpenter with the Draper City Police Department told KSTU.

“As I was driving, these birds were just falling out of the sky,” said Draper resident Lacey Brown. "They were just falling out of the sky like leaves."

Many were bewildered to see the small birds, called starlings, hitting the pavement.

“You’ve seen that black cloud as it’s flying all over the place. Well, that’s a starling group and they call that flying tandem or murmuring,” Carpenter said.

Experts say this is a technique starlings use to stay warm during winter and to defend against birds of prey.

Pictures of the bizarre event spread like wildfire on social media, and some suspected aliens were to blame or the flock was poisoned. “No aliens, no cloaking device,” Carpenter said, “No poison, it was just one of those freak things where the birds were just flying along, crashed into the side of a large vehicle and boom."

And while one such recent incident isn't proof  we're approaching a pole flip and 'conspiracy theorists' were having fun claiming that a UFO attack was responsible for the incident, it's clear that our planet is still going through monumental changes as 'Earth changes' have been happening ever since the planet was formed.

Yet that itself is why one reason we can count on more such continuous Earth change in the days, weeks, months and years ahead with a pole shift guaranteed in our planets future, though maybe unlikely within our lifetimes.

And while this recent Express story warns of coming chaos and potential blackouts for decades from a coming pole flip, a much more likely scenario might see many of the same results delivered via different methods, any of them potentially bringing about immediate TEOTWAWKI with most Americans still completely unprepared for such a natural or mad-made catastrophe.
