While it is totally understandable that much focus has and continues to be on the tragic and devastating Vegas shooting on October 1, 2017, as to how and why it happened, with much speculation as to why investigations are not bringing about satisfactory details, as well as other events dominating the news cycles, we have also seen conclusive proof, with soulless liberals celebrating an event that left over 50 dead and 500 injured in Vegas, spewing vitriol and implying that "conservatives" were the concert attendees therefore they deserves to be slaughtered, that there is widening gap in this country between those that love it, despite the political flaws, and those that have nothing but contempt for the very nation they live in.
Nothing has highlighted that gap more publicly that the NFL anthem protests where players using the opportunity offered them by living in America to make multi-millions of dollars each year, decided to "kneel" during the national anthem played before the game, and the public's reaction to them, which in my mind ties directly into that widening gap we have been witnessing.
NFL 'KNEELERS' VERSUS AMERICAN PATRIOTS
On Sunday, October 8, 2017, Vice President Mike Pence attended the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers game, stood along with those in the stadiums for the National Anthem, then noted that certain players decided once again to kneel, which prompted the VP to walk out of the game, then offer a statement via multiple social media messages, explaining why.
"I left today's Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem." - VP Pence, October 8, 2017.
VP Pence then followed it up with a statement, which he also tweeted, saying ""I left today's Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem. At at time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don't think it's too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem. I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem."
Since the beginning of football season we have noted massive backlash against the NFL, and specifically the NFL "kneelers," including significant drops in viewership on television, and a dramatic drop in ticket sales, with the latest shock polls showing that in the past four weeks, the NFL has lost 31 percent of their core fans, as well as dropping from the second favorable sport in the U.S., to the least favored sport, in just a one month time frame, all because of the NFL kneelers.
As a side note but worth mentioning, is some have reported that the player that started this whole fiasco back in 2016, Colin Kaepernick, who has not been signed on to a team since last season ended, is now indicating that if some team in the NFL will sign him, he will stand during the anthem. Those reports from multiple outlets seem be in question as Kaepernick appears to be denying those reports. He has not issued a statement, but he has been noted to be retweeting other people that are saying he would not stand during the anthem, according to the Daily Mail.
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." - Colin Kaepernick, 2016
The NFL, siding with the "kneelers" against President Trump after he called them out for disrespecting the flag and the nation, seems to have boxed themselves into a corner, with reports now coming out that at least one team playing on October 8, 2017, had been given a choice, either stand for the anthem, or stay in the locker room, yet no one has publicly named which team was given that choice.
Siding with the kneelers, which represented only a small percentage of actual NFL players, was a bad business move, and shows that the NFL leadership has literally no clue who their core base is..... so lets make this VERY easy for them by noting in the image below, of VP pence and his wife standing for the anthem at the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers game, but more critically, shows those in the stadium, regular fans and ticket buyers, all standing as well.
First rule of business.... don't offend your core customers. Second rule of business... when you have offended the majority of your customers, FIX IT, don't double down on your original screw up.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
This isn't all about football or the NFL, but the anthem protests have been the catalyst for a mass awakening, it all highlights part of the bigger picture of separating out those that hate America and what it stands for, from those that love America and what it stands for, even if they don't always agree with the decisions of the country's leaders. The NFL issue just put a large spotlight on those that hate America, literally drew a proverbial line in the sand and woke millions of patriotic Americans up to exactly how many reside in America, yet appear to hate the country itself.
American patriots have a message for those people: Leave if you don't like it here.
What is very interesting about this whole NFL issue finally becoming the "red line," is that people like Democratic politician Maxine Waters keeps telling people to "stay woke," with the direct implication being that liberals finally "woke" up after President Trump was elected, but since President Trump highlighted his disgust at the NFL "kneelers," and the NFL responded by basically spitting on the very flag that represents this nation, it is now the other side that has 'woke," millions upon millions that have ignored how deep the divisions have become, are suddenly standing up and slapping the America haters down.
Well "Auntie Maxine," the other side has now "woke" en masse, and America haters are about to see why it is best sometimes to "let sleeping dogs lie."
Below is one of the best take downs of the NFL kneelers I have seen to date by a man who absolutely loves America.
