To listen to the likes of Bernie Sanders, one gets the impression that a New World Order or as he calls it, Democratic Socialism, isn’t such a bad thing. Everyone would get free education, free housing, free food, free transportation, in fact, free everything you could possibly need. Sounds like Utopia in our time! And why not?
We live in an age of computerized knowledge, so education should be just the touch of a button away. We have automated everything, so why should we have to sweat 8-10 hrs. a day, 5 days a week? Let the computers and the machines do the work! Star Trek showed us how all we had to do was tell the computer we want a gourmet meal, and it would instantly arrive steaming hot, ready to be consumed! We should be able to spend our day touring the galaxy, or at least our own planet until “warp drive” is invented.

Utopia certainly sounds great! It sounds like DisneyLand without the cost of the tickets. Everyone would be dressed in the finest clothes, and there would be automated restaurants without any waiting lines. We all would have access to so many great things, there would be no need for thieves, because they could simply request anything they wanted and they would get it. Money would cease to exist, because there would be nothing to use it on. Imagine pants without bulging wallets making holes in them every time you sit down.
Transportation in Utopia would be available, again for free, on the newest and fastest train systems that are green machines that have absolutely no harmful emissions! Your home would not have a garage, since individual transportation would immediately arrive at your door, once beckoned, and whisk you away to any destination you wish, for free! Yes, Utopia is a Wonder to Behold!
Imagine, if you will, being able to access the brightest minds in the entire world, just by turning on your computer! Every 30 minute lesson brings you ever closer to that PhD you’ve dreamt of in a field that will make you the pride of your family and social group! Of course, there will be no need for a PhD, since Jobs/Work will be a thing of the past. Education will be for personal satisfaction only. Free, of course! Imagine an education majoring in Stellar Contemplation which will give you the background to spend endless hours watching the night sky while you mentally estimate the distance between galaxies and whether there might even be life in them? Would there be poor creatures so unevolved that they still read books?

All we have to do to attain Mr. Sanders’ Utopia is to attain World Peace! (Sound familiar?) Then we need to invent farm vehicles that do not need fuel, and can run by themselves so we can automate farming, and feed the world. We will need to tear down all the fossil fuel burning buildings so we can clean up our atmosphere. (Computers like cooler environment) Of course, we will have to build a national, interconnected, automated, clean energy, high speed, train system. Next, since ships burn fuel oil, we will have to, at least, take the engines out and replace them with clean fuel (not invented Yet).
All this sounds like a monumental undertaking, especially since the United States seems to be the only country capable of attaining these goals, but with the leadership of our newest Congressional Elected Official, we should be able to reach our goal in ten years or less! Or so she says! Perhaps we should make a special amendment to the Constitution to lower the age requirement for President to, say 30 yrs. old so she can run (and win, of course) in 2020! Just Imagine, -- Utopia by the year 2030! I can’t wait!
