It certainly didn't take long for Internet liberals over at Twitter to start raging, melting down, and threatening yet another boycott of the New Yorker publication after they announced one of the headliners that would interviewed at the New Yorker Festival would be former executive chairman of Breitbart News, former White House Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon.
Fascist!!!!!! They scream, while threatening to cancel their subscriptions and totally boycott the New Yorker if they do not cancel his appearance, thereby suppressing his speech on their platform...... which actually is quite "fascist" of them, since forcible suppression is directly out of the fascism playbook.
The outrage machine already has two terms trending at Twitter, Steve Bannon and New Yorker Festival, with liberals yelling about Nazis and white supremacists, which Bannon is neither, and in fact, denounces both in the first video at the bottom of this article.
Like him or hate him, his is simply an opposing voice to the New Yorker's far left liberal bent, but liberals are willing to eat their own, time and time again, just because they cannot handle seeing or hearing any opinion that doesn't fit squarely into their own ideology, to the point where they are so self-UNaware they are literally acting like fascists while slinging the label at Bannon.
Bannon was never my favorite, but let me tell you something, I have never heard him demand squelching another person's opinion or speech. So, who exactly is the intolerant fascists?
I simply have no clue how angry liberals can maintain the level of perpetual outrage and vitriol, on an hourly and daily basis, without completely having a mental breakdown, although witnessing some of the unhinged rants being seen over this issue, I would argue some already have broken with reality and probably should be fitted with a straight jacket..
Not one of the rants where they are calling Bannon everything from a racist to a Nazi, do they bother to provide any examples, or proof of their assertions, they obviously feel no need to.
Even more puzzling is how liberals are actually harassing the huge list of progressive liberals expected to headline, by trying to get them to pull out, which logically makes no sense because if all the liberals pull out, the only voice heard would be Bannon's, unless of course the New Yorker caves to the liberal Twitter mob and cancels his appearance.
Notice in the last tweet shown above how the user cc'd the Sleeping Giant's twitter handle. Since they are always so quick to scream the word "dog whistle," lets just say that is their dog whistle, as Sleeping Giants is known for organizing online mobs to harass advertisers into pulling their ads on conservative websites, and now, they want Sleeping giants to target a far left liberal website and publication, because they have one "conservative" name on the list of headliners to interview.
LAST WEEK'S LIBERAL OUTRAGE AND BOYCOTT BACKFIRED SPECTACULARLY
Last week liberals were completely beside themselves over the fact that the California based In-N-Out Burger, a fast food eatery with locations in a limited number of states, and one that enspouses Christian beliefs, donated $25,000 to the California Republican Party. The eatery is known for donating to causes and groups from both sides of the political aisle, but the fact that they DARED donate to the CA GOP, set off a chain of calls to boycott the burger joint...... and it didn't go well.
In fact, it backfired spectacularly as conservatives made it a point to make sure their locations, especially in California, were bursting at the seams, and posted dozens of images, including from Republican politicians that decided to buy In-N-Out Burger feasts for their entire staff.
A couple of months ago ANP reported on how the owner of the Red Hen Restaurant had kicked White House Press Secretary and her whole party of diners out, because the snowflake and her employees didn't want to serve Sanders because she worked for president Trump. Some reports claimed that the owner then followed the Sander's party, minus Sanders because she went home, to another restaurant, to protest their very presence.
All three localities met and decided to pull together emergency funds to increase digital marketing and spread positive messages of the area, especially Lexington, which brings in the largest number of tourists.
Rockbridge Regional Tourism agreed to spend an additional $5,000 per month from the office’s emergency fund from July through September.
The tourism office receives 0.8 percent of the lodging and meals tax collected from each locality. About 20 percent of its annual budget, which is around $800,000, is put into a reserve for emergencies.
Typically the money is saved. But each locality agreed the region was in desperate need of positive coverage after The Red Hen incident.
Director of Marketing Patty Williams said the area is still feeling effects from the controversy — the tourism office received a letter Thursday from a family in Georgia who said they would never come back to the area because of what happened. And during the immediate aftermath of the incident, the tourism office received thousands of phone calls and emails.
“For a town our size, it was a significant impact,” Williams said.
For the record, it was the restaurant owner's right to serve or not serve whoever she chose, but by making a political statement by refusing service to someone simply because of their politics or who they work for, it is also the right of the public to decide they don't want to visit a town that promotes a business that lets intolerance rule.
Liberals don't seem to care if they eat their own, if they damage a product like the New Yorker Magazine which almost exclusively caters to far left liberal progressives, if the outlet dares interview someone liberals don't approve of.
In the case of In-N-Out Burgers, the original boycott was called for by the California Democratic Party chairman Eric Bauman, of a business that has been around California for 70 years. His liberal intolerance encouraged people to boycott a business, one that pays significant taxes in California, which in turn would have hurt the state itself.
Each and every day on social media, we see outraged liberals complaining about "beards being racist," or someone daring to quote a conservative (*GASP), etc..... I could go on all day. The anger, the vitriol where a simple civil conversation devolves into them shouting insults, hurling accusations out at conservatives the second they cannot counter an argument, is quite telling as to where political discourse is at right now.
A special present to the rage junkies below: A portion of Bannon's latest Australian interview.
NOTE TO READERS: ANP Needs Your Help. With digital media revenue spiraling downward, especially hitting those in Independent Media, it has become apparent that traditional advertising simply isn't going to fully cover the costs and expenses for many smaller independent websites.
