Yet another discovery was made recently showing history as we know it, that we have been taught, is not reality.
A 12 meter Monolith, made of limestone, dating back over 9,300 years (give or take a couple hundred) has been discovered at the bottom of the Mediterranean in the Sicilian Channel between Tunisia and Sicily. According to the Journal of Archaeological Science the Monolith "was cut and extracted as a single stone from the outer rectilinear ridge situated about 300 to the south, and then transported and possibly erected. From the size of the monolith, we may presume that it weighs about 15 tons," the study states.
This new discovery has forced "scholars to rethink the technological know-how of ‘primitive’ hunter gatherers," for a variety of reasons. The "unusual" holes drilled into the Monolith as well as regular shape have researchers asserting this was man-made and not a natural anomaly, according to the study's principal authors Emanuele Lodolo and Zvi Ben-Abraham.
The study states that manufacturing, moving and erecting a monolith of such size required careful cutting work, extraction techniques and transportation. Such skills had not been previously associated with such an ancient people.
“The discovery of the submerged site in the Sicilian Channel may significantly expand our knowledge of the earliest civilisations in the Mediterranean basin and our views on technological innovation and development achieved by the Mesolithic inhabitants.”
The nearby island of Malta is home to a series of mysterious megalithic temples. These have been tentatively dated to some 5600 years ago.
The oldest known structure is at Gobekli Tepe, in south-eastern Turkey. Carbon dating places the hewed stone structures — including 200 pillars weighing up to 20 tons — to be about 11,600 years old.
This latest discovery adds to the mystery surrounding ancient civilations and archeological discoveries such as the one mentioned above, the Gobekli Temple, "regarded as an archaeological discovery of the greatest importance since it could profoundly change the understanding of a crucial stage in the development of human society." In recent history findings have shown that modern day human beings could simply be catching up to the ancient technology of the past. Consider the the fact that Romans discovered nanotechnoly over 1,600 years ago.
(The glass chalice, known as the Lycurgus Cup because it bears a scene involving King Lycurgus of Thrace, appears jade green when lit from the front but blood-red when lit from behind)
The fact is, scientists and researchers claim many of advanced technology found from ancient times continues to be labeled unexplained, or a mystery, unless you consider that there were ancient "beings" with incredible technology in prehistoric times, far advanced from what human beings can do today.
