72 Arrests Wasn't Enough, Turkeys Pardoned, Proclamation For Thanksgiving Day 2025, Patriot Martha Dandridge Custis Washington, And More

By S.E. Gunn, PhD -All News Pipeline

On November 25, 2025, the White House published the article72 Arrests Wasnt Enough Democrats Let Him Burn Her Alivewondering how many more innocent Americans will be victimized as Democrat politicians continue to push their "soft-on-crime" policies around our nation. The article brings to our notice an incident in Chicago that occurred on the "L" train. A 72-time-arrested-and-released career criminal (including 8 felony convictions & 7 misdemeanors) attacked a 26-year-old woman by dousing her in gasoline then chasing her screaming through the train car. He then set her on fire. The criminal is walking free while his victim is fighting for her life with horrific burns. He is free because of the no-cash-bail policy signed into law by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and celebrated by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. The criminal was set free on 'electronic monitoring' that the criminal consistently violated with no consequences leading to his setting an innocent on fire. In response, President Trump will continue taking back our streets/cities from the savages who are terrorizing them as well as from the Democrats who keep setting these savages free to harm more innocents.

On November 25, 2025, President Trump officially pardoned Gobble & Wobble, the White House Turkeys, with a full, absolute, and unconditional pardon to both turkeys (although Gobble was the one officially 'on stage' for the granting of the pardon).

On November 25, 2025, President Trump signed the proclamationThanksgiving Day, 2025citing the 1789 proclamation by our first President, George Washington, as the first National Day of Thanksgiving in which President Washington declared:

. . . the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.

President Lincoln, in the middle of the Civil War, asked the Nation to join in unity for

. . . a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.

From the pilgrims who settled our continent to the patriots who won our independence on the battlefield, to pioneers who tamed the west, and the warriors who have preserved the freedoms we experience today, we give gratitude. We give recognition and thanks to GOD for the abundant blessings we have received.

. . . As we prepare to celebrate 250 glorious years of American independence, this Thanksgiving, we summon the faith, resolve, and unflinching fortitude of the giants of American history who came before us. We vow to build a future that echoes their sacrifice. Above all, we offer our endless gratitude to Almighty God for His love, grace, and infinite blessings.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Thursday, November 27, 2025, as a National Day of Thanksgiving. I encourage all Americans to gather, in homes and places of worship, to offer a prayer of thanks to God for our many blessings.

Freedom is not the burden of soldiers alone.
It belongs to all of us.
My duty is done. Yours is not. Carry it well.

Since George Washington proclaimed the first National Thanksgiving Day, I thought I would introduce his wife, Martha Washington as today's Patriot.

Martha Dandridge (Curtis Washington) was born on June 2, 1731. She was born on Chestnut Grove, a tobacco plantation, in New Kent County in the Colony of Virginia. She was the oldestof 8 children, 4 of whom survived to adulthood. Martha may also have had an illegitimate half-sister born into slavery and an illegitimate white half-brother.

Martha was educated in the manner of a woman of the upper class. She was trained at home in music, sewing, household management, and other domestic skills. She developed a lifelong passion for literature. Her education was inferior to that of her brothers' as expected in the time. She was an accomplished equestrian. Martha grew to a total of 5' tall (most women of that time were 5'2"). She was described as attractive with a lively personality, strong-willed, charming, socially adept.

Martha met Daniel Parke Custis (1711-1757) in 1749. They married on May 15, 1750, moving into his plantation on the Pamunkey River. They had 4 children, only 1, John Parke Custis, lived to adulthood. Daniel died in 1757, when Martha was 26. She inherited 1/3 of his estate (their 2 surviving children receiving 1/3 each).Patsy died in 1773 at age 17. John died from camp feverduring the Revolutionary War in 1774.

Martha married George Washington on January 6, 1759 at the Custis plantation. They had no children. They moved to Williamsburg, Virginia when George was a representative in the House of Burgesses. They then set up their household at Mount Vernon.

In the beginning of her marriage, Martha focused on the household where she knitted, oversaw the making of clothes, and learned to cure meat in their smokehouse. The family entertained almost daily hosting their visitors for both dinner and longer stays. Martha's inherited wealth enabled George to turn Mount Vernon into a profitable estate.

When George became a General in the Revolutionary Army, it was the longest that he and Martha had ever been separated. Missing her husband, she would join him at the winter encampments providing aid for soldiers including clothing and supplies. She would spend from 6 to 9 months at each encampment. To assist her husband more directly, she entertained wives of officers and visiting dignitaries. In winter 1775-76 she was at Cambridge Headquarters and from 1777-1778 she was at Valley Forge. In March 1776, after the British retreated from Boston, they left behind an outbreak of smallpox. Martha chose to be vaccinated against smallpox in Philadelphia. In total, Martha spent over 5 years with the soldiers during winters out of the 8 1/2 years of the war. She was often known as "Lady Washington" due to her graciousness to soldiers and citizens alike.

Martha retreated to Mount Vernon when the war ended in 1783; however, her retirement was short lived because her husband, George Washington, became president of the US in 1789. Martha joined George, first in New York City (the first capital) and later in Philadelphia (the second capital). Although she was a 'reluctant' First Lady, she hosted weekly social events (called levees) hosting dignitaries, diplomats, and citizens. Striking a careful balance between being First Lady and a retired lady, Martha unknowingly set the standard for subsequent First Ladies. She took great interest in the lives of veterans welcoming them at special receptions, giving the money, and interceding on their behalf for pardons.

In 1797, after 2 presidential terms, Martha & George retired from public life to Mount Vernon. George died in 1799. Martha burned their private letters to maintain their privacy forever.

Martha died from "severe fever" on May 22, 1802 at age 70. Both she and George are interred at Mount Vernon where George had created a plain tomb for them.
