The propaganda war has reached the point of being absurd now as ANP ran accross some internet chatter over an article found at a website called "News Daily- Ukraine Daily News," which claims that "The head of the Kremlin press service said that in the event of a military coup Putin is ready to launch a nuclear attack on Moscow," according to the Google translation of the actual article. (Translation seen here and original link found here - Screen shot below)
The Claim
"Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to launch a nuclear attack on Moscow, if the situation in the near future does not stabilize, the head of the Kremlin press service Dmitry Peskov.
New threats by the opposition caused panic in the Kremlin, it refers to the nouveau paramilitary units operated by the opposition. President expects military aggression and ready to give a fitting rebuff to the enemy, both outside and inside the country.
If the opposition Sealy try a coup with military power, the president does not rule out the possibility of using nuclear weapons against the rebels. "- Writes the Russian TV channel LifeNews
Ukraine Daily News Updates
The site then offers two updates, one supposedly from what they call their "Russian colleagues from NTV," stating they had misunderstood the head of the press service of the Kremilin and that they meant "the use of nuclear weapons against the opposition, but not just in Moscow, and perhaps in other cities," and then they claim to cite "Dmitry Kiselev, director general of the Russian International News Agency "Russia Today", on its French-speaking resource fr.sputniknews.com," stating they confirmed the original statements.
Desperate Propaganda On The Part Of Ukraine
There are a variety of reasons we are calling this whole report "desperate propaganda," on the part of Ukraine and those supporting Ukraine, starting with multiple translation searches of the articles on fr.sputniknews.com, with none of them confirming the report, contrary to it's assertions, although it is possible I missed the exact article.
While not listed "officially," as a news site, they do have an Alexa ranking of 1,143 in Ukraine and 4,472 in Russia, as shown in the screenshot below.
The war is heating up and as shown in the video below, the hypocrisy of NATO and the US condemning Russian military manoeuvers while at the same time conducting their own large scale war games in the Baltic states and creating a “line of troops” across Eastern Europe, makes it clear that this type of propaganda is for the sole purpose of creating tensions with Russia against Putin.
