There Is Something Wrong With Joe Biden - Democrat Operatives And Conservative Pundits Are Asking Legitimate Questions About Biden's Health

CNN analysts, some of the same ones that offered endless speculation about President Trump's mental health, his diet, his liking for diet cokes and two scoops of ice cream, and numerous other health-related issues, are now highly upset by anyone that questions 77 year old, former Vice President Joe Biden's health, saying the questions are "crossing the line."

On June 10, 2019, The Hill detailed how the Biden campaign was accusing Fox News personalities of "spreading rumors" about Biden's health. The Hill cited a Daily Beast report:

Fox News host Sean Hannity and Fox Business host Lisa "Kennedy" Montgomery have discussed Biden’s health on the air multiple times. On a May 29 broadcast of “The Five,” Kennedy compared Biden to 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, saying Democrats are quietly talking about Biden’s health, The Daily Beast reports.

“If you talk to Democrats, who are working for different campaigns, all of the aggressive gossip whisperers — and this is where the action is happening in terms of opposition research — it’s people having a few drinks at a bar and whispering, ‘You know there is something wrong with the former vice president,’” she said. Last week, Kennedy said Biden’s staff should keep their candidate “off a main stage” because he says “stupid things and he slurs,” adding that Biden “does look very tired.”

Hannity, who has used the nickname “Sleepy Joe” to refer to Biden, also called the former vice president “tired,” adding “he does not have the energy for this.”

In a statement to The Daily Beast, Biden campaign press secretary TJ Ducklo said, “These are baseless lies meant to stoke fear in their viewers. It has no place in our public discourse, and anyone amplifying it bears some responsibility for giving it legitimacy it most certainly does not deserve.”

Other liberal blogs jumped into the fray, with far leftist Slate headlining with "Fox News hosts amplify baseless rumors about Joe Biden’s health," as they write "Fox has brought up Biden's health on at least four occasions, echoing similar attacks on Hillary Clinton in 2016."

Before moving along, let me remind readers those "attacks" on Hillary Clinton were very real questions about her health when images clearly showed that she couldn't even make it up short set of steps without the help of two of her security detail.

Remember this?

It appears that liberal writers also forget the whole passing out in public and having to be carried into her van, during the 2016 campaign season.

Questions about Hillary Clinton's health were not "attacks," but actual reporting about her physical fitness as she was running to hold the highest office, the Presidency of the United States.

Now, back to Joe Biden and his physical fitness for that same position.

DEMOCRATS ARE ALSO QUESTIONING JOE BIDEN'S FITNESS

So four days ago, liberals were up in arms over Fox News personalities questioning Biden's health, and yet on June 13, 2019, Politico, hardly a bastion of conservative thought or reporting, reveals that those Fox News personalities are not the only ones worried about Biden's health, energy levels and stamina, but that Democrat operatives are are skeptical as well, calling him "the 78-year-old elephant in the room."

Via Politico:

In overt and indirect ways, questions about the former vice president’s age and vigor are increasingly surfacing within his own party, fueled by the former vice president’s relatively light campaign schedule and attempts to limit his public exposure. If elected, Biden would be 78 upon entering the White House — making him the oldest president ever to take the office.

“It’s the 78-year-old elephant in the room,” said Miami-based consultant and pollster Fernand Amandi, who consulted for the Obama-Biden campaigns in 2008 and 2012 and is unaffiliated with any 2020 campaign.

“There is no question that what has propelled Vice President Biden to clear front-runner status is his unparalleled experience in contrast to his primary counterparts, but am I hearing gargantuan concerns among Democratic insiders about Biden’s advanced age, which is the very byproduct of that experience derived from a lifetime of public service? Absolutely, yes.”

One specific sentence from that Politico report caught my eye, as they cite one of their sources about the Biden campaign stating outright they are "easing him in and we’re not going to tire him out because the fact of the matter is that we don’t have to."

While Biden's age isn't the issue, per se, because I have known 90 years olds with more stamina than some 50 year olds have, his stamina is very much a concern, and it isn't just conservatives worried about it.

LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS ABOUT BIDEN'S HEALTH

While the President has nicknamed Biden "Sleepy Joe," and many on the internet still use the "Creepy Joe," nickname, there are also other questions that need to be asked after some very obvious "gaffes," that could very well be indicative of something more serious going on.

For example, last month Biden told donors that  "Margaret Thatcher" is concerned about the United States under President Trump. Thatcher died in 2013 before Donald Trump was even part of the political scene. Biden later claimed he meant to say British Prime Minister Theresa May instead of Thatcher, and called it a "Freudian slip."

Biden also has backtracked on the Hyde Amendment, which he had championed for over 40 years and voted for back when he was in the Senate. He did this just two days after reaffirming his support for it.

On May 1st,  Biden mocked President Trump for calling China a threat, stating "China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man. They can’t even figure out how to deal with the fact that they have this great division between the China Sea and the mountains in the east, I mean in the west. They can’t figure out how they are going to deal with the corruption that exists within the system. I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they’re not competition for us."

By June, Biden did a complete 180, now saying "We need to get tough with China. China poses a serious challenge to us, and in some areas a real threat."

Flashback 1998: Joe Biden almost died after suffering a brain aneurysm while serving in the Senate. According to his wife Jill Biden in her upcoming autobiography 'Where the Light Enters,' she recounts "Our doctor told us there was a 50-50 chance Joe wouldn't survive surgery. He also said that it was even more likely that Joe would have permanent brain damage if he survived. And if any part of his brain would be adversely affected, it would be the area that governed speech."

According to the Washington Examiner, the surgeon that saved Biden's life back then, now says that Biden is "totally in the clear," and jokes "Joe Biden of all of the politicians in Washington is the only one that I’m certain has a brain, because I have seen it."

Just last year Biden was forced to cancel an event where he was due to campaign for Democrats in Illinois, due to an undisclosed medial issue, citing "doctors orders not to travel." (Source- ABC News, August 2018)

Some are even wondering if he has dementia.

Biden himself has stated that if he were to run for presidency, questions about his health were fair game and "totally legitimate."

Biden himself agreed last year that “it's totally legitimate” for people to ask questions about his health if he decides to run for president, given his medical history -- which has included brain surgery in 1988.

“I think they're gonna judge me on my vitality,” Biden told “CBS This Morning.” “Can I still run up the steps of Air Force Two? Am I still in good shape? Am I – do I have all my faculties? Am I energetic? I think it's totally legitimate people ask those questions."

While campaigning can be gruelling, running the country is far more so, and it is legitimate to wonder if Joe Biden is up to the challenge.

BOTTOM LINE

Despite liberals howling over the audacity of Fox News personalities to dare question Biden's stamina and health, Democrat operatives are also publicly expressing their own concerns.

Considering Biden's first campaign speech where he mispronounced words, stuttered and stammered and even slurred his words on occasion, these are questions the media themselves should be asking.
