In my anger, I am not blind, and in my fear, I am not afraid of telling the world how I feel. There is so much waste, we buy and throw away, buy and throw away and never share with the needy. We live a privileged life with plenty of food, water, and shelter. We have watches, computers, televisions sets and on and on.
I am only a child, yet I know all the money spent on war was spent on finding environmental answers, ending poverty and finding treaties what a wonderful place this earth would be.
Parents should be able to comfort their children by telling them everything will be alright, it’s not the end of the world and we are doing the best we can. But I don’t think you can say that to us anymore.”
Interesting words are they not? And if most of the people today read those words the thoughts would go, the person calls the second coming of the Virgin Mary Greta Thunberg.
In truth, these are the words spoken by the daughter of a Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki who at the time was 12 years old. They were spoken to the plenary session of the UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. It was considered at the time one of the first instances of using a child to “shame” the world to follow the socialists’ environmental cause.
It is an attempt to use the naive anxiety of a child’s’ youth to continue the manufactured falsehoods to create an army of child lemmings following the pull of the environmental catastrophe industry. They do not understand the history of the climate hoax has a far-reaching past. They are never told that Al Gore declared that the poles would be ice-free by 2015. Since that time, there has been record snowfall not only at the poles but throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Gores declaration of snow being a thing of the past has been shown to be a lie, with snow in the Sahara, the Middle East, and even the Canary Islands.
Everyone has seen the polar bear on the small piece of ice that has been used to declare polar bears were dying off. The picture has been proven not to be representative of actual facts, but the polar bear population has exploded. The running joke is that there were 8 to 10,000 polar bears that would die off because of global warming and only 25 to 30,000 exist today. And the term global warming is no longer valid, Starting as global cooling that was going to kill us all, it became global warming and has now shifted to climate change because the warming never happened. In fact, global temperatures have remained with a two-degree range since 1950. Why was it changed to climate change now? It is with the use of climate change that natural weather of any form (hot-wet-cold-dry) could be attributed to “climate change”.
And in the 1970’s it all started with acid rain. Those of you too young to remember, Google 'acid rain': and read of the dire consequences we were told we were facing then. Environmental activists have been trying to scare the world with the catastrophic damage to be done for decades. They want to scare people into submission and use those ignorant enough not to think for themselves and research the lies they are being told. They scare our children through indoctrination that there is a climate monster looming in our future. The level of anxiety among the children worldwide has led to a massive uptick in depression and even suicides amongst those 12-19.
Citizens are starting to wake up not only in our country but in others as well. 2018 was a defeat on overpriced carbon taxes that do nothing to help the environment. In Ontario, Canada, The "cap-and-trade fiasco" went to a resounding defeat as nothing more than a redistribution of wealth that would solve nothing. In Australia, a liberal socialist power base crumbled after attempting to pass a carbon dioxide bill. In the United States, Washington state tried to pass a carbon tax bill that was rejected for the second time in two years.
In France, French President Emmanuel Macron attempted to raise taxes on fuel was met with the fierce resistance of the population. The tax on gasoline and diesel was summarily scrapped in December. In the United States far-left progressive socialist Democrats can expect a similar response to the “Green New Deal” debacle that they are attempting to force on the populous.
The green activists continue to push the debunked “97% consensus” lie on the world. Real science continues to question, expresses skepticism, investigates further the evidence before it. The agreements reached must be tested against actual evidence. The evidence of climate change is at best scant. Numbers and outcomes have been manipulated to meet the criteria of the environmental activists in the past and will continue to be so. In the next column, I will examine some of these dichotomies of the reason that are forced into the subject of climate change and attempt to determine where the real science lies in the area of climate change.
