The Trump administration, via the Department of Health and Human Services, has a draft memo that the MSM got ahold of, which proposes to "establish a legal definition of sex under Title IX," where gender is determined "on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable," as reported by NYT, and other outlets have picked it up and run with the official "spin."
"The sex listed on a person’s birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person’s sex unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence," the memo states, according to the Times.
The spin can be found in the how the NYT phrases such a "drastic," yes, that is what they call it, proposal, by claiming this action would "roll back recognition and protections of transgender people under federal civil rights law."
Hmmmm...... what "protections" would this roll back? Perhaps the Obama era determination that men, those born biologically male, with a penis, are "protected" to use the same restrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms with biological females, those born with a vagina and vice versa? If that is a "protection," then yes, it should be rolled back.
The "comfort" of one person should never determine the "safety" of another. There is a reason bathrooms have the boy/girl or men/women signs on them.
Or the "protection" for men to "identify" as a woman, then be allowed to join professional sports competition, against woman biologically born as women, using the inherent superior physical strength to win said competitions?
The example shown above is a recurring theme being seen in the world of sports, where biological men, using their transgender status to join women's competitions, setting records, in weightlifting, cycling, and other sports.
According to the LGBT community, or as some now refer to it as the LGBTQQIP2SAA: (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, pansexual, two-spirit (2S), androgynous, and asexual), it is only "fair" to allow those that "identify" as the opposite sex to be allowed to compete, despite the inherent physical differences between men and women.
There is a reason that in the world of sports there are womens divisions and mens divisions, and this push by liberals and the LGBT community to blur the lines between males and females based on what someone wishes to "identify" with, is patently unfair to women and men that are biologically born with either a penis or a vagina and are very happy to stay that way.
If they truly do not wish to compete according to their biological gender, than perhaps it is time for sports officials to create a third division just for transgenders. That would be the fair thing for all.
LGBT COMMUNITY AND LIBERALS ARE TRIGGERED
The NYT framing of the topic gave liberals and the LGBT community their talking points and off and running they were, triggered and claiming "The Trump administration reportedly wants the government to revoke civil rights protections from transgender people," as the liberal website Vox claims in their headline.
Splinter takes it a step further, blaring out "Trump Administration Wants to Obliterate Transgender Civil Rights Protections," while LGBT activists scream "Insulting, Inhumane, and Unacceptable," with TowerLoad Gay News claiming that "Trump Plans to Legally Abolish Transgender People."
It is basic biology. Most people are either born with a penis and sex chromosomes (XY), which means they are the male gender, or they are born with a vagina and sex chromosome (XX), which means they are the female gender. A very small percentage are cases of XX males or XY females, or other anomalies, but those are the exceptions and not the rule.
BOTTOM LINE
I am not the morality police, and if a man wants to dress as a woman, or even get his "dangly's" snipped and get pumped full of hormones, have at it. Or if a woman wants to get testosterone, and dress as a man, more power to them.
The law should always be applied equally to all people, but to demand extra rights, extra "protections" than what every other American gets because one chooses to make changes to their bodies, is not fair to the majority of the nation's occupants.
If this HHS proposal is implemented, it will not be rolling back anything, it will not be stripping anyone of "protections," it will simply be getting back to basic biology and using scientific biology when applying official federal policy.
That is how it was before Barack Obama started trying to offer extra rights, (more than others Americans have) to a group of people based on what they want to be rather than what they were born as..... that is not civil rights as those triggered groups are claiming, that is stripping rights away from some of us, to give additional rights to others.
