Over 93% Drop In Illegal Border Crossings And Repatriation Of Criminal Illegal Aliens To Their Country Of Origin As We Honor The US Border Patrol's 101st Anniversary

By S.E. Gunn PhD - All News Pipeline

On May 27, 2025, the White House published an article Illegal Crossings Plummet in San Diego Sectorstating:

As illegal border crossings plummet, U.S. Border Patrol announced a soft-sided migrant processing facility in the San Diego Sector constructed under the Biden Administration has been dismantled after a 96%+ decline in illegal crossings along the sector. The increased border enforcement is accompanied by the Trump Administrations efforts to arrest criminal illegal immigrants throughout the nation. Meet a few of the sick criminal illegal immigrants arrested just over the past weekend:

  • Kevin Estuarde Hernandez, an 18-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala, was arrested in Boston. He is a suspected 18th Street Gang Member who was involved in a shooting between his gang and MS-13.
  • Jose Antonio Deras, a 45-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was arrested in Denver. He has pending charges for four felony counts of sexual assault on a child with a pattern of abuse. A judge ordered him removed from the country in 2009.
  • Eduardo Sanchez-Hernandez, a 32-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, was arrested in Newark. He has pending charges for sexual assault of a minor under 13-years-old.
  • Litzy Janel Saavedra, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, was arrested in New York City. He has a conviction for third-degree felony rape.
  • Carlos Torres Valdovinos, a 46-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, was arrested in San Francisco. He has a conviction for felony oral copulation of a child.
  • Jose Barrios-Bello, a 35-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, was arrested in Salt Lake City. He has a conviction for distribution of meth and has previously been removed from the country.
  • Misael Delgado-Carlos, a 35-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, was arrested in Houston. She has a conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and has previously been removed from the country.

The Migration Policy Institutehas published a Profile of the 2019 Unauthorized Population of 169,000 individuals for San Diego County, California (the most recent I could find) showing:

  • 70% were born in Mexico
  • 32% have been in the country 20 years or more
  • 52% are between the ages of 25 and 44
  • The Male:Female ratio is 1:1
  • 58% have no children while 34% have at least one US-born child under 18
  • 35% have never been married and 14% are married to a US Citizen
  • 51% are enrolled in a school
  • 20% have a HS diploma or equivalent
  • 33% have between "some college" to a graduate or professional degree
  • 42% do not speak English or not speak it well
  • 73% speak Spanish at home
  • 64% are employed
  • 43% are at or above 200% of poverty level
  • 42% have no health insurance
  • 20% are homeowners

Can someone tell me how 64% of ILLEGAL ALIENS have JOBS? How 43% of them are at least 200% above poverty level (meaning that a single individual makes more than $31,300 per year)? And these are 2019 numbers. They DO NOT COUNT the tens of millions of illegals let into this country by the Biden/Harris Administration between 2021 and 2025.

Also note that the MAJORITY (52%) were between the ages of 25 and 44. We call this age range MILITARY-AGED. The institute did not break down how many of this majority were male and how many were female. Regardless, WE have females in our military services, why shouldn't they?

Once we get to the point where the illegal alien members of the terrorist-designated gangs are removed. What happens to the US Citizens who are members of those same terrorist-designated gangs, cartels, cults, organizations? Will they be deported to CECOT like the rest of the gang members even though they are US Citizens?

US Customs and Border Protection(CBP) has a history almost as long as the history of our country:

Jul 31, 1789: U.S. Customs Service was established by Congress and noted its role as the progenitor of numerous federal bureaus and agencies. The Customs Service closed with the dawn of CBP, but its commissioner became the leader of CBP and the majority of its staff and responsibilities came to CBP. Customs Collectors reported to the US Department of the Treasury. The monies levied [which we now call TARIFFS] saved our Country from bankruptcy after the Revolutionary War and ensured its independence.

Mar 3, 1891: The Immigration Act of 1891 established a separate Superintendent of Immigration within the Treasury Department. Its inspectors joined Customs at US ports of entry.

1904: Mounted watchmen of the U.S. Immigration Service patrolled the border in an effort to prevent illegal crossings. Their efforts were irregular and undertaken only when resources permitted.

Aug 20, 1912: The passage of the Plant Quarantine Act of 1912 created agriculture inspectors who joined the activities at US ports of entry.

1915: Congress authorized a separate group of Mounted Guards, often referred to as Mounted Inspectors. Most rode on horseback, but a few operated cars and even boats. Although these inspectors had broader arrest authority, they still largely pursued Chinese immigrants trying to avoid the Chinese exclusion laws.

1918: Supervising Inspector Frank W. Berkshire wrote to the Commissioner-General of Immigration expressing his concerns about the lack of a coordinated, adequate effort to enforce immigration and customs laws along the border with Mexico.

May 28, 1924: Congress passed the Labor Appropriation Act of 1924, officially establishing the U.S. Border Patrol(USBP) for the purpose of securing the borders between inspection stations.

1925: USPB duties were expanded to patrol the seacoast. Customs, Coast Guard, and USBP began to collaborate to enforce Prohibition laws.

1939-1945: During WW2 customs officials searched ships, checked passports, combatted smuggling, and recovered stolen property.

1945-1991: The Cold War brought a renewed focus on protecting the country from illegal arms trafficking, money laundering, and prohibited drugs.

1969: Beginning of the Customs Aviation Program.

1973: Beginning of the Customs Marine Program.

1999: The Aviation & Marine programs were combined into the Air and Marine Interdiction Division of CBP.

Mar 1, 2003: US CPB officially became a component of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The mission became ANTI-TERRORISM while still protecting America's agriculture.

Jan 17, 2006: the Office of Air and Marine was officially established incorporating the Air and Marine Interdiction Division into the new Office.

Oct 15, 2006: The Office of International Trade is established to consolidate trade policy, program development, and compliance measurement functions into one CBP office.

Today, May 28, 2025 marks the 101st Anniversary of The United States Border Patrolfor which President Trump issued the following Proclamation:

For 101 years, members of the United States Border Patrol (USBP) have courageously served as guardians of our sovereignty and protectors of our homeland against invasion, aggression, and violence. Every day, Border Patrol agents selflessly risk their lives to repel the flow of deadly drugs, weapons, criminals, and terrorists many of whom come to our shores from jails, prisons, and mental institutions in far-flung countries across the globe. On this anniversary of the United States Border Patrol, we honor every agent for their honorable service and pledge to support them in their mission to keep Americans safe.

For decades, the USBP has maintained the thin line between order and chaos. Unfortunately, the last administration in an extraordinary act of deception and betrayal, imported an army of unvetted illegal aliens, including violent criminals, thugs, gang members, and terrorists from the darkest and most dangerous parts of the world. Their arrival over the last 4 years ushered in record-shattering levels of immigrants illegally coming into our country while at the same time depleting resources and draining the morale of our incredible USBP agents.

The tide turned on January 20, 2025. One of my first actions as President was declaring a National Emergency at the southern border of the United States, which provided additional authority to the Department of Defense to support the Federal Governments response to the crisis. I also designated cartels and other transnational organizations, such as Tren de Aragua and MS-13, as foreign terrorist organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists in order to end their campaign of violence and bloodshed on our homeland. Additionally, I have resumed our border wall construction, reinstated the Remain in Mexico policy, halted the practice of catch-and-release, ended asylum for illegal border crossers, deployed thousands of American soldiers to defend and protect our borders, and implemented the largest deportation operation in the history of our country.

Within my first 100 days in office, daily border encounters dropped 95 percent, and migrant crossings declined by an astounding 99.99 percent. In March, our Nation saw the lowest monthly number of border encounters in recorded history and fentanyl traffic fell by 54 percent compared to March of the previous year. Also in my first 100 days, my Administration arrested more than 150,000 and deported more than 135,000 illegal aliens. Under my leadership, our USBP agents are not only receiving the resources they need to do their job but also the respect they have earned and deserve and our work is only just beginning.

As we celebrate 101 years of the USBP, we honor the thousands of patriots who dedicate their careers to defending our borders and upholding the rule of law, even in the face of grave danger and tremendous risk. Above all, we pay tribute to every brave soul who has perished in the line of duty while proudly serving our Nation. In their memory, and in honor of their beloved family members, we pledge to empower the USBP to safeguard the American homeland today, tomorrow, and beyond.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 28, 2025, as a day in celebration of the 101st Anniversary of the United States Border Patrol.

This change, in both the number of illegal border crossings and in the support of the USBP, had me wondering if the recruitment numbers had risen since President Trump re-took the Office of the Presidency as they did for the Armed Services. The simple answer is "YES" they did. The USBP publishedQuarterly numbers confirm highest U.S. Border Patrol applicants in agency historywriting on May 13, 2025:

Since President Donald Trump took office, U.S. Border Patrol has seen an unprecedented surge in interest in its mission, making it the most successful four-month recruitment stretch in the agencys history. Its not a coincidence that January received the highest number of USBP applicants ever recorded since the agencys founding.

From January to April 2025, USBP received 34,650 applications, representing a 44% increase over the same four-month period in 2024. This historic spike in applicants is a direct reflection of the renewed national commitment to border security under the leadership of President Trump, the Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The continued surge in applications speaks volumes about the pride and purpose Americans see in joining the U.S. Border Patrol, said U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks. We thank President Trump and Secretary Noem for their leadership and commitment to strengthening our workforce and mission readiness.

The increase in applicants also underscores the publics confidence in this administrations strong enforcement priorities and the sense of purpose Americans feel in answering the call to protect the homeland.

Recruitment gains are also being driven by enhanced outreach, targeted hiring incentives, and growing interest among veterans and law enforcement professionals who bring mission-ready experience to the frontline. Securing the border will continue to be this administrations top priority.

This increase lends credence to the notion that Legal US Citizens are fed up with the influx of illegal aliens and want them removed from our country! Now if those activist judges and leftist politicians would start acting in favor of the US Citizen instead of the illegal aliens, we'd be much further along in ridding our country of those who violate our laws!
