DOJ Jumps Into The Anti-Trust Covid-19 Censorship And Deplatforming Case Where Big Media (TNI) Colluded With Social Media Giants To Prevent Alternative Views From Being Discussed Online
On Friday, July 11, 2025, the United States Department Of Justice website put out a press release informing the public the DOJ had filed a 22 page Statement of Interest in a suppression of viewpoint case filed in May of 2023 by Childrens Health Defense and other plaintiffs, for colluding with social media giants to prevent alternative viewpoints on covid-19, and surrounding issues, from being discussed publicly.
Many may remember that individuals were blocked, banned, suspended, and many deplatformed on multiple social media websites for daring to question the official "narrative" surround a variety of issues, including vaccines, lockdowns and Covid-19 origin theories, which later were proven true.
Previously we have see the Biden regime exposed for "coercing" and encouraging online censorship, in rulings by federal courts.
All NewsPipeLine and other independent media websites were included in that censorship as Google and YouTube, owned by the same parent company, demonetized alternative news websites, as well throttling our reporting from search engine results.
In the case we are discussing today we find out it wasn't just the the Biden White House colluding with social media giants, but also the TNI.
TNI is a recently formed, self-proclaimed industry partnership joining together some of the worlds largest legacy news organizations, including the Washington Post, the Associated Press, Reuters and TNIs founder, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), as well as the biggest Big Tech platforms including Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Microsoft for collusively censoring online news. The TNI exists to, in its own words, choke off and stamp out online news reporting that the TNI or any of its members peremptorily deem misinformation. TNI members have targeted and suppressed completely accurate online reporting by non-mainstream news publishers concerning both COVID-19 (on matters including treatments, immunity, lab leak, vax injury, and lockdowns/mandates) and U.S. elections (such as the Hunter Biden laptop story).
The defendants in this lawsuit are the BBC, The Washington Post, the Associated Press, and Reuters
In the press release the DOJ makes it clear they are siding with theChildrens Health Defense and other plaintiffs against TNI, stating that it is the position of the Trump DOJ that "antitrust laws protect viewpoint competition in news markets."
When companies abuse their market power to block out and deplatform independent voices and protect legacy media, they harm competition and threaten the free flow of information on which consumers depend, said Assistant Attorney General Abigail Slater of the Justice Departments Antitrust Division. This Antitrust Division will always defend the principle that the antitrust laws protect free markets, including the marketplace of ideas.
The 22 page PDF is embedded at the bottom of this article, but we will highlight a few specific quotes from thestatement of interest from the Justice Department.
On page #6, under the Interest of the United States portion, the DOJ counters the claim by TNI that suppressing competition in the marketplace of ideas . . . is not a cognizable antitrust injury," by asserting that Americans "vitally depend on viewpoint competition in the marketplace of ideas to limit the abuse of market power and ensure the free flow of information."
The plaintiffs contend the following:
According to the complaint, it targeted claims that, e.g.: COVID-19 was manmade, manufactured or bioengineered; COVID is no more dangerous to some populations than the seasonal flu; face masks, mask mandates, and social distancing do not prevent the spread of COVID; and immunity from getting COVID is more effective than vaccination.. And as a result, Plaintiffs, who supplied non-mainstream viewpoints on these and other issues, allegedly were censored, shadow-banned and de-platformed from posting on websites like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
TNI claims they are "an industry information-sharing partnership . . . aimed at identifying harmful disinformation."
The problem there is that much of what the media, social media and Biden White House claimed was disinformation, was later exposed as being truthful and not disinformation at all.
An example of this was the lab leak theory, which many Independent Media reported as the likely cause and origin of Covid-19, and were censored and deplatformed, and demonetized for at the time, yet years later the then-FBI Director Christopher Wray admitted that a lab leak was the likely cause and origin of Covid-19.

The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan, Wray told Fox News.
The disinformation in that case was not coming from those that questioned the media's official narrative, but rather the media itself.
Another example, this one in the arena of U.S. Politics, was the Hunter Biden laptop story, broke by the New York Post, who were then blocked from spreading the news far and wide on social media, with the media's official narrative being the laptop story was "Russian disinformation." That news was suppressed until after the 2020 election, in order to benefit Joe Biden.
After the election, the same media entities that protected Joe Biden during the campaign phase of the 2020 presidential election by claiming the Hunter Biden laptop story was "Russian disinformation," finally started reporting on stories proving the only disinformation pushed onto Americans regarding the laptop, were from the mainstream media itself, collectively.
There are many more examples, but those show the importance of allowing discussion, facts, and documents that are contrary to the MSM official narrative.
That is why this case against TNI, and the DOJ's statement of interest, is so important.
BOTTOM LINE....
While it cannot undo the harm that was suffered by Independent media, and in fact all Americans, that the media and social media colluded to keep in the dark with fake claims of disinformation, it can set judicial precedent by holding the TNI, and every partner involved with TNI, accountable so truth cannot be suppressed by social media at the behest of the U.S. government, or MSM outlets, in future events of importance.
Proving in a court of law, even if it must go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, that it breaks anti-trust laws for the MSM, and social media to collude to suppress accurate and truthful information, just because it goes against their preferred narrative, will go a long way towards getting information to the public, fostering discussion about topics the MSM would prefer no discussion be had, and preventing the monetary losses websites such as ANP suffered for years.
