Despite living on the streets of Sarasota, Florida for years, a former United States Veteran only wants to find his son, a son he lost 15 years ago to social services. Even though aGo Fund Me page has been set up for former US Marine Donald (Boone) Gould that has already raised over $13,000 towards helping Donald get a roof above his head, a car, and possibly helping him to finish his music theory degree, the thing that would bring him the greatest joy and healing would be to find his long lost son. ANP has put in a request to find out more info on Donald's son but as of this moment, we only know that his son turned 18 on August 24th, 2014, making his birthday August 24th, 1996. His family used to live in Michigan.
Proving once again the amazing and overwhelming power of the human spirit to heal, the homeless former US Marine who has been living on the streets for almost 10 years has absolutely dazzled millions of people in the last several days with his piano playing at an outside street piano in Sarasota, Florida, which was caught on video by a bypasser who later posted the video to facebook, only to reach over 4 million views and growing fast, while reaching over a million already on the recently added YouTube video seen below.
Back in 1998, Donald's wife died and he quickly admits, "he lost it" and ended up addicted and on the streets. He also lost touch with his 3-year old son when social services took him. He'd love to get back in touch with his son, who would be 18-years-old now, but he has no idea where he is. We're hopeful that our readers will be able to help us find him.
The video below of Donald playing Styx song "Come Sail Away" has gone megaviral and Donald shares his life story with local news in Florida in the 3rd video below in which he tells us what's REALLY important in his life, being reunited with his son. In the 2nd video, Donald is interviewed by a couple of his new found 'fans' in the street.
While he only hoped to get a little bit of change in his baseball hat, a local Sarasota bar is considering offering him a job playing the piano bar for them while Donald tells us about sleeping under the stars every night, unless, of course, it's raining. Meanwhile, millions around the entire world have been brought to tears by the amazing video below. Thank you Donald for the reminder that we are all human. There but for the grace of God go we.
I'm sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea I've got to be free, free to face the life that's ahead of me On board, I'm the captain, so climb aboard We'll search for tomorrow on every shore And I'll try, oh Lord, I'll try to carry on
I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory Some happy, some sad I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had We live happily forever, so the story goes But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold But we'll try best that we can to carry on
A gathering of angels appeared above my head They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said They said come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me
