While the media often attempts to protect Antifa, justifying their violent tendencies, while defending them as "anti-fascists," despite the fact that they use violence to silence those they disagree with politically, which is fascism at its core, Saturday's display by Antifa completely destroyed the media narrative.
ON ONE SIDE THE END DOMESTIC TERRORISM RALLY
Watching coverage from both sides of the event, via live streams, we noted the participants of the "End Domestic Terrorism" rally sing the star spangled banner, pray, then request authorities open the Hawthorne Bridge to allow them to go to the east side to a secondary location, and to de-escalate the situation by further separating the two groups, which local law enforcement did before closing the bridge again, although Antifa members did try to follow them over to the other side.
The actual "End Domestic Terrorism" rally began at 2 pm ET, and ended at 3 pm, before they prayed and sang the national anthem as seen above, then they marched across the bridge to enjoy their BBQ, with no violence whatsoever, despite the media's claim before the event that police were preparing for violence over a "far-right" demonstration, without informing their viewers the expected violence was due to the "counter-protest" by Antifa groups.
With the rallygoers gone, antifa and counterprotesters, who vastly outnumbered the right-wing group, stayed in the park and spread out into the downtown area.
Often ignoring police commands to stay on the sidewalks, the antifa members marched around and engaged in small confrontations with individuals who were perceived or proclaimed to be against antifa. One case resulted in police using pepper balls and arresting a man on the counterprotest side who had advocated for fights throughout the day.
Below the quoted section above, the piece provides multiple Twitter embeds with video, with descriptors of the videos. The descriptor are below, readers can click to Washington Examiner to see them.
DC Examiner reporter Julian Rosas describes the scenes represented in the video clips:
• Antifa pushes a guy out of the park, don't know why. As they push him out, antifa uses umbrellas to block reporters cameras. At one point, the guy in the dog mask briefly turns his attention to me. And just so we're clear: I did not do or say anything to these people. They came up to me and started the confrontation.
• Antifa pushing another person out of the park, calling him a Nazi.
• A pepper ball is used by police as they make an arrest, the guy who was threatening me earlier.
• BREKAING 🚨 ANTIFA chases conservative protestors through Portland streets They sprayed pepper spray, assaulted multiple victims including a young girl, tasered a teenager Riot police on the scene, protestors on the ground cheered cops to jump off and kill themselves.
Protesters also taunted police, with some calling African American officers "Uncle Tom" and shouting, "Where's your cabin?"
At one point, two buses carrying members of the American Guard, which the Anti-Defamation League describes as a white supremacist group, were stopped in traffic. Noticing their "Antifa = terrorism!" sign, the masked protesters began attacking the bus, throwing objects and banging on the sides. The door to one bus was eventually opened, and fighting broke out.
The buses were able to drive away, but not before multiple windows were smashed.
Below YouTuber Red Shark Intelligence manages to capture some of the highlights from beginning to end, from the peaceful "End Domestic Terrorism" rally, to the police trying to keep the two groups separated, to Antifa's violence after the massive police presence dwindled.
BOTTOM LINE - TIDE TURNS AGAINST ANTIFA
One of the best signs that Antifa is losing support, even from some hard-core liberals online, comes from Andy Lassner, executive producer of “The Ellen Show,” described by Twitchy as "a reliable progressive voice on Twitter (that we often ridicule)," who has finally had enough of Antifa, declaring "You don't represent me. Go home."
Within three hours, after pro-Antifa radical liberals ripped into him, calling him a facist himself, Lassner deleted his tweet and replaced it with his liberal credentials, stating "I detest Trump. He and his entire family blocked me for a reason. It should go without saying, I hate proud boys, Nazis, & fascists. I don’t think violence is the best response to violence. I wasn’t great at saying this. I suck at this sometimes. I deleted my original tweet."
Despite the deletion of the tweet, the importance of it appearing at all cannot be overstated, because if a hard core radical liberal progressive like Lassner is sick and tired of Antifa's violence, then imagine what moderate Democrat voters are thinking as they see video after video of Antifa attacking people for no other reason than their political ideology is different from Antifas.
Remember, recent reports have shown that "The outspoken group of Democratic-leaning voters on social media is outnumbered, roughly 2 to 1, by the more moderate, more diverse and less educated group of Democrats who typically don’t post political content online, according to data from the Hidden Tribes Project."
The media cannot protect Antifa anymore because no matter how many times they create a media spectacle of a "far right" rally, the images, videos and optics of the actual events show the violence is coming from one place.... the Antifa goons and even the media's biased coverage ends up proving that to Americans watching.
