Was The Torching Of Notre Dame Cathedral A Message From God? This Ominous Sign Comes As The Future Of Civilization Stands At Its Most Consequential Crossroads

- Promises of a 'Worker’s Paradise' usually deliver concentration camps and doomsday

By Dr. Peter Vincent Pry - All News Pipeline

The burning of Notre Dame Cathedral during holy week before Resurrection Sunday shocked the western world, briefly uniting our deeply divided house, temporarily bringing together all political factions, races, classes, sexes and genders, all of us, in grief over destruction of a great icon of Christianity and Western Civilization.

850 years ago, when Notre Dame was built, Medieval minds, who saw messages from God in everything from comets to a fallen sparrow, would interpret destruction of a great cathedral as an ominous sign, a warning from Heaven.

Surely, if people from the Age of Faith who raised Notre Dame could see 850 years into the future, could see what we have become, the great conflagration destroying God’s house would be no mystery to them.

The Age of Science boasts Reason has triumphed over Faith and God is dead. Christianity is hounded from the public square, is silenced, or worse mocked and despised, in our schools, modern art, and entertainment.

Christianity and its child Western Civilization are thought so shameful among “intellectual elites” they would brainwash us into their new faith that is secular humanism, replace Christ with Marx, suborn individualism to collectivism, replace thought with “group think”, confuse the just society with “social justice”, and abandon free markets and free nations for the tyranny of socialism and globalism.

Small wonder God burned the great cathedral Notre Dame!”, or so would say Saint Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, and Moses too.

Secular humanists, who grieve with us over Notre Dame’s burning because of great historical and artistic treasures lost, would do well to join us in also reflecting on the cathedral’s conflagration, if not a message from God, then as symbolic of the destruction of Christianity—the greatest treasure of Western Civilization.

The burning of Notre Dame can do great good if it becomes a “teaching moment” and starts a conversation about the future of our Civilization, that now stands at its most consequential crossroads.

Is Mankind better served by reviving, or at least understanding, Judeo-Christian values that built and sustained Western Civilization for 2,000 years, until the 20th Century--or by the new “religion” of secular humanism that worships false science and the technocratic state, that dominates society and governments in the 21st Century?

History has already answered this question—in favor of Moses and Christ.

The USSR was officially atheist, rejected the existence of God, persecuted Christians and Jews, but worshipped Marxism, effectively a secular humanist religion that pretends to a “scientific” understanding of history and human nature. The Soviet Union tried unsuccessfully to break humanity’s God-given love of freedom and individualism to build a selfless “New Soviet Man” who would identify with the collective and live only to serve the State.

The USSR’s experiment killed 30 million Soviet citizens in purges, many times threatened the West with a thermonuclear World War III, and ultimately in 1991 self-destructed because of its own spiritual, philosophical, and material contradictions.

Nazi Germany is another example of secular humanism producing a hellish dystopia. Nazis elevated racism to a secular religion, rationalizing the Holocaust and the breeding of a master race of Aryan supermen as logical extrapolation from scientific theories about race, genetics, and eugenics popular in the early 20th Century. Adolph Hitler was Nazism’s secular God.

60 million people died in World War II.

Totalitarian Communist China and North Korea are both living examples of secular humanism producing monstrosities that oppress their own people and threaten the freedom and very existence of other nations.

China and North Korea are officially atheistic, denying the existence of God. Both subscribe to Marxism and its false science about the inevitable victory of their forms of socialism. Both reject that Man has God-given natural rights, and endeavor to replace individualism and freedom with slavery to the collective and the State.

In North Korea, Kim Jong-Un is God, armed with nuclear missiles.

In the long historical struggle over whether God and the Ten Commandments or Man and “Science” should be the North Star of Western Civilization, Russia may have given the last word to a machine. Moscow plans to deploy 32 Poseidon “doomsday machines”.

Poseidon is an Artificially Intelligent nuclear-powered robot, each armed with a 100-megaton warhead, 10,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. It will roam the oceans, evading and hiding from hunter submarines, perhaps for months or years, until ordered to detonate, raising tsunamis, 100 meters high, that will render the populous U.S. coasts, and perhaps much of the world, radioactive wastelands.

Poseidon is what happens when secular humanists and technocrats are in charge.

Western secular humanists and socialists will vehemently protest they have nothing in common with the USSR, Nazi Germany, Communist China, North Korea, or Poseidon—even as they embrace atheism and Marxism, shout down and mock the religious, and pretend to subscribe to objectivity and “science” in order to achieve “social justice.”

All totalitarian movements start this way, promising a Worker’s Paradise, delivering concentration camps and doomsday.

I hope they can rebuild Notre Dame Cathedral. Let us hope and pray for the resurrection of God’s law and Christ in the hearts and minds of men.
