The inflation numbers for December 2022 are out, and once again being hailed as "lowering" inflation with a 6.5% annual reading, with the MSM once again boasting of how the numbers are "in line with expectations."
The core categories, plus other items with notable year-over-year price changes above that 6.5% that are rarely are addressed by the national media, includes eggs, fuel, butter & margarine, airfare, lettuce, utility, public transportation, frankfurters, white bread, roasted coffee, dairy and related products, electricity, tools, hardware and supplies, and poultry.
The year over year numbers themselves for the aforementioned products are a kick in the gut, with eggs seeing the highest price spike at 59.9% since December 2021. Butter and margarine 35.3%, lettuce has risen 24.9%, frankfurters come in at 18.2% higher than at the same time the year before, white bread 17.7%, roasted coffee 15.5%, dairy & related products 15.3%, & poultry comes in at 12.2% more than at the same time the year before.
But hey, no worries, "overall" inflation is down to just 6.5%. They say that like it is good news that you are paying "only" 6.5% more in December 2022 than you did for the same products the year before.
The nation need not worry because the 6.5% was expected! It really does not matter that you are paying 6.5% more in December than you did last year at this time, because it isn't the 7%+ from November!
Never mind your wallet, that doesn't count. Forget the fact that you pay more to get less at the grocery store, that is of no concern......to them.
Ok, enough sarcasm.
Because we have awesome readers that take the time to snap images, upload them and send them on over to us, we can show a real time look at what it looks like on for products that allegedly went down from December 2021 to December 2022
According to the same CNBC report, beef and veal went down by 3.1%. On January 20, 2023, we received an email from Arizona, with an image showing the price for a prime rib steak, on sale as a manager's special at 30% off.
Safeway, Queen Creek, Az
$28.19 for less than a pound. $29.99 per pound.
So that is what it looks like to see prices go down? Only goes to show how very much they rose the year before.
We have been warned that due to the inability to feed cattle, many ranchers have been forced to sell before their cows have calved, meaning no youngsters for those, leading to warnings of future beef shortages and prices hikes.
Similarly, two-thirds of ranchers and livestock farmers reported selling off animals, with average herd sizes expected to be down 36%, the poll showed. The biggest herd declines are in Texas (down 50%), New Mexico (43%) and Oregon (41%), showing the wide geographic distribution of the distress.
Poultry, frankfurters, and other pork products, are still seeing inflation, so might as well just stock up on whatever meats you can, because this issue isn't going away in 2023.
During a time of systematic, 'big tech' censorship and widespread institutional corruption, truth-seeking media and alternative vi ews are crucial, and EVERY little bit helps more than you could know!)
NINE MEALS FROM ANARCHY.....
In America, other than the great Waffle House brawls, or other fast food restaurants that see costumers fight just to fight, we haven't yet seen what happens when people cannot feed their families and what happens.
In Pakistan over the last month, which we haven't near enough about from our national media, people are literally fighting over bags of wheat.
The videos below should be a wake up call as to what can, and will, happen here or anywhere, when the masses cannot feed themselves or their families.
There are plenty of other videos but some are "age-restricted" by YouTube and can only be seen at the platform. I did look at other video platforms, but couldn't find them using their search functions.
The point here is people will do what they have to do, whether steal food or fight for it, to feed their families.
Americans are already feeling the effects of a global wheat shortage due to the Russia/Ukraine war, so as we have pointed out multiple times, stocking up on wheat berries and graining your own flour, is something that Americans really need to lean how to do for themselves.
A comment from a regular reader aka PipeLiner, shows us clearly that shortages are still with us, just not as prominent as in the early days of the lockdowns and covid "pandemic," mostly because stores have adapted to shelving foods in a manner where empty spaces are not as noticeable, as well as manufacturers cutting back on options.
The reader comment from Kerry Bay:
Back from Walmart. Milk cooler is now only one door wide, instead of five. No Eggs, I repeat, NO EGGS, with signs that said "due to unfortunate circumstances, eggs will be unavailable for the forseeable future". People yelling, fighting and swearing at each other over all kinds of different items. Seemed most everybody there (pretty packed) was buying mainly food and survival supplies. Couple dozen people open-carrying.
Between inflation, lack of options and actual shortages, tensions are rising fast.
Eggs and dairy products, including milk as our reader highlighted above, are items we, and other Independent Media have been warning readers of for months,
Beef while touted as going down is expected to see shortages and massive inflation again as the lack of calves now, mean less meat produce late, showing the entire food system and supply is as volatile now as it was at the in 2021.
Canned goods, produce such as corn, tomatoes and lettuce, are all expected to become scarce or see incredibly high inflation in the coming months.
Dairy products are another category that has seen volatility throughout the past two years and given the amount of news and warnings we are seeing, will no doubt get worse during 2023.
Other countries such as Pakistan are already seeing conditions that lead to fighting, stampedes and desperation because of shortages and unaffordable food prices. The warning signs we are seeing right now, coming from not only farmers of produce, but of ranchers in regards to meats, lead us to the logical conclusion that things are getting worse, not better.
All we can say is what we have said 100 times before, at least....prepare.
