With Restored Cooperation Between Russia And Cuba, The Next Time We Have An American Democrat Leader Start Hostilities With Russia, They Can Hit The U.S. With An EMP From Just 100 Miles Away
As many long time readers know, ANP has never seen Russia, nor its President Vladimir Putin as the "boogeyman" the left has continued to treat him as. A dictator, yes, and not someone we would want to see running the U.S., but still not the cartoon villain Democrats have tried to turn him into.
Granted Russia has been seen that way since long before the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, and during the cold war, but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, and as the decades have passed, most have gone about their lives without much thought regarding Russia, other than RINOs, Democrats and the media that continued to act like Russia is a threat to America's very existence.
Yes, in a direct war between Russia and the U.S., there would be millions of casualties on each side, but during the Biden regimes four years in office, the U.S. has interfered in the Russia/Ukraine war, sanctioned Russia, and Russian individuals, and basically did everything in their power to become active participants in the war by allowing U.S. missiles to be used by Ukraine to attack within Russia.
The Point: There is not any national security interests for America, or Americans, in interfering in a war between Russia and Ukraine.
America and the European Union simply want Russia to remain the boogeyman in the eyes on their citizenry.
Now, with all that said, the Cuban Missile Crisis was a legitimate concern.
After the failed U.S. attempt to overthrow the Castro regime in Cuba with the Bay of Pigs invasion, and while the Kennedy administration planned Operation Mongoose, in July 1962 Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev reached a secret agreement with Cuban premier Fidel Castro to place Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba to deter any future invasion attempt. Construction of several missile sites began in the late summer, but U.S. intelligence discovered evidence of a general Soviet arms build-up on Cuba, including Soviet IL28 bombers, during routine surveillance flights, and on September 4, 1962, President Kennedy issued a public warning against the introduction of offensive weapons into Cuba. Despite the warning, on October 14 a U.S. U2 aircraft took several pictures clearly showing sites for medium-range and intermediate-range ballistic nuclear missiles (MRBMs and IRBMs) under construction in Cuba. These images were processed and presented to the White House the next day, thus precipitating the onset of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Some would say the U.S. precipitated the entire thing by trying to overthrow another government, while others might think Russia should have stayed out of affairs between Cuba and the U.S., the same way the U.S. should have stayed out of the Russia/Ukraine war. Either way, having Russian missiles , and a soviet build up of offensive weapons, just 103 miles away from the U.S, was a legitimate concern for the the U.S.
Note - that number was known as 90 miles, but that wasa measurement used by only large ships at sea.
Within missile range, so it was a concern.

Cubas communist regime will begin broadcasting Russian language courses in the coming months, resuming a Soviet-era practice after 40 years, Russian and Cuban-centric outlets reported Monday.
Some key points below:
In 2024, both nations agreed to have Russian teachers sent to Cuba for the joint development of textbooks in Spanish, in addition to other unspecified educational projects.
Russia resumed its oil shipments to Cuba in 2024 following a year-long pause as Cuba endures a severe shortage of fuel for both the nations vehicles and its barely working power plants.
In July, a Russian delegation traveled to Havana to discuss the construction of a Russian-made oil refinery. Duma Deputy Speaker Alexander Babakov said at the time that Cuba has crude oil, it is logical not to import oil products, but to produce them here, and added that the largest Russian companies could participate here.
Again, let me reiterate that we don't see Russia as the boogeyman under the bed as the media and Democrats (that includes Republicans In Name Only), but Cuba is just 103 miles away from Florida, so seeing Russia create an oil refinery in Cuba, while Cubans will be once again learning the Russian language, we do have to at least consider the national security implications of Russia right on our doorstep.
That could change, unlikely while Trump is in office, but the second a Democrat wins a presidential election, everything Trump is doing to restore relations with Russia, could be wiped out in a blink of an eye.
When that happens, Russia will have a strong foothold in Cuba, just 103 miles away from the U.S. They could bring in anything they want as they supply Cuba with fuel, or while building their Russia-made oil refinery, meaning the next time a Democrat president is in office, and decides to "isolate" Russia again, sanction them or directly involve the U.S. in Russia's business, Russia will be in a position to retaliate, with more than just sanctions.
It would be so easy, when so close, to set of an EMP to destroy our power grids and anything within range that has electronics, with Cuba being their "base" to attack.
Russia might not be the boogeyman others want us to believe them to be, but if pushed too far by a U.S. leader, they could easily become what they are constantly accused of being...our boogeyman.
BOTTOM LINE.....
Americans are fickle, and while many conservatives approve of the actions Trump is taking, even some of them can see 100 actions they like, and will continue to complain about one thing they do not, and Democrats fighting tooth and nail against any action President Trump takes, the 2028 election could very well go back to a Democrat that will reinitiate hostilities with Russia.
Then Russia will just be 100 miles away and able to retaliate before we know the hit is even coming.
