Seven Power Grid Attacks In Three States Over The Past Month Should Be A Wake Up Call - Our Ancestors Could Survive Without Electricity, Could You?

By Susan Duclos - All News PipeLine

Back in June 2021, ANP and a number of other outlets reported that Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm admitted that cybersecurity attacks against our nations grid are "happening all the time."  Prior to that we, and the late Dr. Peter Pry warned of the devastating loss of life that would come with an EMP attack, and/or a prolonged grid down scenario.

Cyber attacks and EMPs are only two grid down scenarios as we have also seen warnings time and time again of physical attacks against the nation's power grids and substations.

A few key quotes via HS Today from April 2021 in a piece titled "Cyber and Physical Threats to the U.S. Power Grid and Keeping the Lights on."

• The National Research Council stated that the U.S. power grid is “vulnerable to intelligent multi-site attacks by knowledgeable attackers intent on causing maximum physical damage to key components on a wide geographical scale.”

• From 2002-2012, approximately 2,500 physical attacks occurred against transmission lines and towers worldwide and approximately 500 attacks against transformer substations.

The point here is we have consistently been warned, by experts, that the U.S. power grid is vulnerable in a number of ways, cyber, EMP, and individual physical attacks.

Jump forward to the first week in December 2022, and we have targeted shooting attacks against two substations in North Carolina which left tens of thousands without electricity "amid freezing temperatures."

Just days later it was reported that five more substations were attacked in Oregon and Washington state in November.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields, discussing the attacks against the North Carolina substations stated "It was targeted; it wasn’t random."

In the Yahoo News article about the event, they have a subsection category of 'A wake-up call to provide better security,' and while that is a critical point, with more than "6,400 power plants and 450,000 miles of transmission lines run across the country," that is much easier said than done.

(ANP EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER: Due to heavy censorship by 'big tech' upon ANP articles, we're running an EMERGENCY fundraising drive. We also want to thank everybody who has donated to ANP over the years. With donations and ad revenue all that keep ANP online, if you're able, please consider donating to ANP to help keep us in this fight for America's future at this absolutely critical time in US history.

During a time of systematic, 'big tech' censorship and widespread institutional corruption, truth-seeking media and alternative views are crucial, and EVERY little bit helps more than you could know!)

A WAKE UP CALL.....

These latest targeted attacks against the U.S. power grid should also be a wake up call to those that haven't been paying attention to the warnings, the reports of the variety of ways the power grid is vulnerable, and are woefully unprepared for a coordinated multi-state attack.

While our ancestors survived without electricity and power grids, these days everything runs off electricity.

Without it, the internet won't run. The internet is used for everything from your home electricity to your phone, to your water. No stop lights when driving. No ATMs  and it might not matter anyway because almost everywhere you shop, without the cash register telling the cashiers what change to give, they usually can't manually count it out.

Give it a few years and places like California which are planning to force their citizenry to use electric cars, will likely come to a standstill.

Hospitals? Nope. Get some books on medicine and treatment at home, and survival.

Communication? Hope you have some walkie-talkies. Entertainment? No video games, television, movie theaters, computers, etc...

Cooking? Solar ovens, wood burning stoves, Sterno

Industries would come to a standstill, the economy would collapse, everything electrical becomes nothing more than junk, life expectancy becomes shorter, no refrigerators or freezers so you better have emergency survival foods. No air conditioning or heat.

Water. Those that drink tap water most definitely will need water in bulk to survive even a short time without electric. Now imagine what you would do if the power outages were indefinite.

Clean clothes? Hope you have a washboard!

The point: We are not nearly as capable as our ancestors, collectively as a nation, and the majority of the U.S. populace would not survive for very long in a prolonged grid down scenario.

NON-PREPPERS WILL NOT SURVIVE SHTF

Most ANP readers are as prepared as their personal situation allows them to be. space constraints and financial situations can and in many cases do prevent some from preparing as much as they would like to

Again, most ANP readers also have family members that simply don't get how fast they would be begging for food,  water or basic necessities, should a long-term grid down scenario occur, and we have been warned time and time again, it will occur. It is not a matter of "if," but of "when" it will happen.

Some would try to help anyone in their family, or even friends in a SHTF scenario, others will state outright that after warning family and friends multiple times, they would not share their preps with those who refused to listen.

Still, if it were their child or grandchild, one would be predisposed to help, no matter the warnings that were ignored.

Why wait?

No matter the budget, there are always items that can be given to non-prepper family members before SHTF.

Whether first aid kits, a generator, bulk water, a bucket or two of emergency survival foods, a small wood burning stove that can be used for heat or cooking.

So many things can be given for Christmas rather than items that would be junk without electricity, or some socks, mittens, jackets, or hats for a birthday.

You can help them be prepared without them even knowing they have "prepping" supplies in most cases.
