President Trump's Department of Energy has once again issued an emergency order, the second in a months time, to reduce the risk of blackouts across South Eastern states, as summer heat is straining an already "fragile" power grid.
In late May, U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, issued an order to "minimize the risk of blackouts and address critical grid security issues in the Midwestern region of the United States," and now in late June, another emergency order to mitigate blackouts by allowing Duke Energy Carolina to run units at maximum capacity in an attempt to protect residents ofFlorida, Indiana, Tennessee, Ohio, and Kentucky, as well as North and South Carolina to keep their lights on.
A recent NERC assessment found that four major grid operators are at an elevated risk of failing to meet electricity demand this summer in extreme conditions. The heat wave radiating across the East Coast is projected to last for a few days, according to multiple reports.
The portion of the report that caught my eye, shows the elevated threat is not just a short term risk, shown below.
The electricity grid needs to be strengthened with more power, particularly from reliable sources like coal, nuclear or natural gas, energy sector experts previously told the Daily Caller News Foundation. Notably, NERCs 2024 report, as well as analysis from Always On Energy Research, have both projected that power shortages could begin in regions across the U.S. in the next few years.
Despite climate change claims pushed every summer by the media and Democrat politicians, the weather is, and always has been, unpredictable, and it might come as surprise to the global warming crowd, summers have always been....hot.
Newsflash to those individuals: Summers will always be hot. Some hotter than others.
The problem here isn't the weather or all the twisted logic the media uses to "explain" why "climate change" is cold in the winter, hot in the summer and there are hurricanes during hurricane season (yes, that is snark), but rather the frailty of the entire electrical grid, which we have seen warnings about the decades.
The grid did not originate with having a population of 340+ million people, and manufacturing parts for transformers, and other critical components, was outsourced long ago.
Without a massive hardening of the U.S. power grids, blackouts in the hottest portions of the summer and the coldest times of the winter, as well as severe weather events which have occurred throughout history, will continue to increase in frequency.
Top off the growing population and the increased power usage across the U.S., with the fact that we were warned by many Independent Media websites that Biden's "aggressive climate regulations targeting fossil-fuel-fired power plants will create widespread electric grid instability and lead to mass blackouts impacting millions of Americans," and these new emergency orders should be a surprise to no one.
The research, conducted in May by the firm Always On Energy Research, concluded that the Environmental Protection Agency's recently finalized regulations are not technologically feasible and will foreseeably lead to the retirement of coal power generation units. Intermittent and weather-dependent green energy sources, such as wind and solar, will replace such retired generators, leading to unreliable conditions, the study found.
The study largely echoes concerns that have been voiced by the U.S. grid watchdog, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation; regional grid operators; and power utility companies. Four regional grid operators that oversee the infrastructure supplying power for 154 million Americans warned after the EPA regulations were first proposed last year that grid reliability would "dwindle to concerning levels" under the regulations. The Edison Electric Institute, the lead industry group representing U.S. electric companies, in late May joined a lawsuit that challenged the EPA's finalized regulations.
Undoing the type of damage that the Biden regime did with their actions is not as simple as rescinding his "autopen" orders, and could take years to undo that mess, and that is on topic of addressing the increased usage year after year.
In this day and age, a long term power outage can cause sickness, death, and chaos will reign as millions of Americans have never learned how to survive without their "smart" devices, or conveniences that will all be rendered useless without electricity
This makes the knowledge that only six percent of Americans have access to a generator, whether it is because they cannot afford it, or they simply are not willing to prepare, extremely disturbing.
So, yes, once again, we recommend making sure to have at least a small generator, solar if possible just because with tensions across the world gas could get very expensive or become limited by shortages should a world war break out.

Another thing to think about if the grid goes down for an extended amount of time, is communicating with your loved ones, family, and friends.
This is something that there is information out there about, but until I was looking, hadn't run across many articles about it.
Below is a few ways mentioned in those articles.
Old School: CB (Citizen Band) Radios -CB has plenty going for it: you dont need a license to operate, it is commonly used near major highways, and in rural areas. However, its power and range is limited by law, and the largely free-for-all mindset that is common among CB users can make it hard to get serious use out of your radio. Sat Phones/Messaging: "The ultimate off-grid communication tool, or at least they can as long as the satellites are still up there." (Source)
A quick note about these. They are more expensive, but in today's world where families are strewn across the country, the long range phone and/or messaging capabilities, can be critical to being able to stay in touch with your loved ones.
Ham and Short Wave Radios: For those that have never looked into these forms of communications, the short version of the differences between the two is the Ham radio users can talk and listen, and shortwave can only listen.
While there may be ways around it, legally, one needs a license to operate a Ham radio, and none for the shortwave if you are only looking to get information, not be able to communicate back.
For those interested, here is a good link explaining the differences between the two.
There are other communication methods, and as always we encourage readers to research and figure out what is best for their own personal needs, but these are tried and true ways that can leave one feeling confident they won't be cut off from the world should a long term power outage his their area, city or state.
BOTTOM LINE.....
The media will drone on with their climate change hysteria over the hottest parts of the summer, as they do during the winter, storm season and any other time they can utilize to push said agenda, what they won't do, is simply help people learn how to mitigate the personal inconvenience power outages can cause them.
Be prepared and be safe.
