President & First Lady Sign TAKE IT DOWN Act Into Law, Director Kratsios Admits US Can Manipulate Time/Space, Introducing Medal Of Sacrifice, And Funding Bill Status

On May 19, 2025�First Lady Melania Trump Joins President Trump for Signing of the �TAKE IT DOWN� Act�that�

focuses on protecting children and families�from online extortion and exploitation through the non-consensual distribution of intimate images and deepfake abuse.

S. 146, the �Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks Act�, or the �TAKE IT DOWN� Act provides for�

criminal prohibition on intentional disclosure of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions and requires covered platforms to remove such depictions, and for other purposes.

The following is First Lady Melania Trump's�speech about the bill:

It�s an honor to join you here today for the signing of the �TAKE IT DOWN� Act�a national victory that will help parents and families protect children from online exploitation.

This legislation is a powerful step forward in our efforts to ensure that every American�especially our young people�can feel better protected from their image or identity being abused through non-consensual intimate imagery or NCII.

Artificial Intelligence and social media are the digital candy of the next generation�sweet, addictive, and engineered to have an impact on the cognitive development of our children. But unlike sugar, these new technologies can be weaponized, shape beliefs, and sadly, affect emotions and even be deadly.

Over the past few months, I have met with brave survivors, deeply-loving families, and caring advocates who know firsthand the emotional and psychological toll of NCII and deepfake abuse.

Elliston Berry stood boldly for change�despite the risks posed to her and her family by speaking out and making her voice heard. Elliston, your voice�and the voices of so many like you�made this bill a national priority.

Many thanks to Members of Congress from both parties for passing this legislation, including Speaker Johnson, Senator Cruz, Senator Klobuchar, Congresswoman Salazar, Congresswoman Dean, and Congressman Guthrie. Thank you all for coming together to prioritize people over politics.

As First Lady, my BE BEST initiative is focused on improving children�s well-being, encouraging kindness, and creating a safer online environment for our youth. Today, I am proud to say that the values of BE BEST will be reflected in the law of the land.

I want to thank my husband, President Trump, for standing with us in this effort. His signature on this new law is not where our work ends on this issue. Now, we look to the Federal Trade Commission and the private sector to do their part.

Today, through the �TAKE IT DOWN� Act, we affirm that the well-being of our children is central to the future of our families and America. Now it is my pleasure to introduce the President. Thank you.

Director Kratsios, later presented a speech at the National Academy of Sciences May 18, 2025, stating:

I speak to you this morning as the President�s Science and Technology Advisor, who has been given three interconnected tasks in pursuit of a Golden Age of Innovation: to maintain American technological leadership; to ensure all Americans enjoy the fruit of transformative advances in science and technology; and, a mission I believe we all share, to revitalize America�s scientific enterprise.

In a speech last month, I explained how America�s dominant position in technology can only be maintained through a strategy of both promotion and protection. Today, I�d like to speak a little bit about our shared mission of furthering scientific advancement.

To empower America�s researchers to achieve groundbreaking discoveries and to reinvigorate our national science enterprise, we must scrutinize our existing approach and recommit ourselves to best practices. That is my commitment to you, but also what I ask of you, to ensure America sets the Gold Standard for science in this century and the next.

Last year in a horrific accident in November the three officers were working to restart one of their motorcycles on the shoulder of a road when they were struck by a SUV. Stuck dead center. And all three perished from their injuries. Essentially they perished immediately. This was a terrible tragedy.

A review of how bills become law in Congress

A bill is a proposal for a new law or a change to an existing law. The idea for a bill can come from a sitting member of the U.S. Senate or House of Representatives or be proposed during their election campaign. Bills can also be petitioned by people or citizen groups who recommend a new or amended law to a member of Congress that represents them.

1. Once a bill is introduced, it is assigned to a committee whose members will research, discuss, and make changes to the bill.
2. The bill is then put before that chamber to be voted on.
3. If the bill passes one body of Congress, it goes to the other body to go through a similar process of research, discussion, changes, and voting.
4. Once both bodies vote to accept a bill, they must work out any differences between the two versions. Then both chambers vote on the same version of the bill. If it passes, they present it to the president.
5. The president then considers the bill. The president can approve the bill and sign it into law. Or the president can refuse to approve a bill. This is called a veto.
6. If the president chooses to veto a bill, in most cases Congress can vote to override that veto and the bill becomes a law. But if the president does not sign off on a bill and it remains unsigned when Congress is no longer in session, the bill will be vetoed by default. This action is called a pocket veto, and it cannot be overridden by Congress.

How the House and Senate�s lawmaking procedures are different:

The Senate and the House have some procedural differences. While both are equal in how they function, only the House can initiate tax and revenue-related legislation. And only the Senate can draft legislation related to presidential nominations and treaties. While the House processes legislation through a majority vote, the Senate does so through deliberation and debate prior to voting.

The White House has been promoting the bill as containing No Tax On Overtime:

Last week, during National Police Week, law enforcement officers visited the White House and voiced their support for No Tax on Overtime�a key part of President Trump�s One, Big, Beautiful Bill. One officer called it �a huge advantage to law enforcement across the country.�

The White House published an article May 17, 2025�The One Big Beautiful Bill Will Crack Down On Illegal Immigration stating:

The One Big Beautiful Bill is a historic piece of legislation that empowers ICE to deport the millions of illegal immigrants that entered under Joe Biden, ensures illegal immigrants do not receive food stamps or Medicaid, taxes money illegal aliens send out of the country, and permanently secures the border.

The Big Beautiful Bill includes tens of billions of dollars in expanded ICE detention and calls for hiring a minimum of 10,000 new ICE agents. The House Judiciary Committee says the bill �provides funding for at least 1 million annual removals, 10,000 new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel, and detention capacity sufficient to maintain an average daily population of at least 100,000 aliens.�

As NumbersUSA said in a statement: �For decades Congress has promised to secure the border and failed to deliver. The House Reconciliation bill delivers on the promise of building the border wall, 10,000 ICE officers, detention beds, historic funding for Customs and Border Patrol and a tax on money illegal aliens send out of the country. The Trump Administration needs this funding to deport illegal aliens, millions of whom entered the country over the last four years.�

Even opponents of the President�s agenda acknowledge that this historic legislation will allow ICE to �ramp up mass deportation operations to a level never before seen in American history.�

Put simply, The Big Beautiful Bill will empower Big Beautiful Deportations.
