Armed Forces Day,

alongside its branch-specific variants often referred to as Army or Soldier's Day, Navy or Sailor's Day, and Air Force or Aviator's Day, is a holiday dedicated to honoring the armed forces, or one of their branches, of a sovereign state, including their personnel, history, achievements, and perceived sacrifices. It's often patriotic or nationalistic in nature, carrying propaganda value outside of the conventional boundaries of a military's subculture and into the wider civilian society. Many nations around the world observe this day. It is usually distinct from a Veterans or Memorial Day, as the former is dedicated to those who previously served and the latter is dedicated to those who perished in the fulfillment of their duties.

President Harry S. Truman"led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country." With the first observance of Armed Forces Day occurring on May 20, 1950.President John F. Kennedy, through Proclamation 3399, whereby he proclaimed Armed Forces Day as a national holiday in May 1961.

Secretary of Defense Louis A. Johnson

announced, on Aug 31, 1949, the creation to honor Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard following the consolidation of the military services in the U.S. Department of Defense as part of a modern U.S. Armed Forces. It was intended to replace the separate Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard holidays, but the separate days are still observed, especially within the respective services. The first Armed Forces Day was celebrated by parades, open houses, receptions and air shows. The United States' longest continuously running Armed Forces Day Parade is held in Bremerton, Washington. The single day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under the Department of Defense.

On 19 May 2017, President Donald Trump reaffirmed the Armed Forces Day holiday, marking the 70th anniversary since the creation of the Department of Defense.On 15 May 2020, Armed Forces Day honored the newly established United States Space Force for the first time.

As Commander in Chief, my highest responsibility is to ensure our all-volunteer military, 2.1 million-strong, is the worlds most lethal fighting force. I have taken bold steps to prioritize military excellence and readiness across every branch of service, ensuring that all active duty, National Guard, and Reserve members who wear our Nations uniform are prepared to deploy, fight, and win against any adversary in any domain. Americas military will soon be stronger and more powerful than ever before. Since November, enlistment numbers for every branch of the Armed Forces have surged recruitment is now the highest it has been in 30 years.

I invite the Governors of the States and Territories and other areas subject to the jurisdiction of the United States to provide for the observance of Armed Forces Day within their jurisdiction in an appropriate manner designed to increase public understanding and appreciation of our Armed Forces. I call upon all Americans to display the flag of the United States at their homes and businesses on Armed Forces Day, and I urge citizens to learn more about military service by attending and participating in the local observances of the day.Proclamation 10762 of May 17, 2024, is hereby superseded.


President Carter signed Public Law95-419 on October 5, 1978 designating May 4, 1979 as the beginning of the first Asian American & Pacific Islander week. Congress amended Public Law 95-419 changing the observance week to the entire month. President Bush signed the amendment which became Public Law 101-283. He then issued a Proclamation (6130) officially declaring May 1990 as the first Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month.

The following year, Pub. L. No. 102-42 was passed unanimously by Congress and signed into law by President George H.W. Bush on May 14, 1991. This law requested that the president proclaim May 1991 and May 1992 as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Months." This law also recognized the significance of May 7 and May 10 in the history of Asian/Pacific Americans. May 7, 1843 is the date on which the first Japanese immigrants arrived in the United States, while on May 10, 1869, the first transcontinental railroad in the United States was completed with significant contributions from Chinese pioneers. In 1992, Congress passed Pub. L. No. 102-450, which permanently designated May of each year as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month.

The EO went on to declare a long list of the Biden Administration's DEI EO's of which Executive Order 14031 of May 28, 2021 (Advancing Equity, Justice, and Opportunity for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders). Wikipedia contributors went on to erroneously claim:

First, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is codified in PUBLIC LAW 102-450. An executive order CANNOT remove or rescind laws. CONGRESS has to act to repeal a law. CONGRESS did NOT act to repeal the law. What President Trump did was revoke the DEI-based rules put in place by the Biden Administration. This is a perfect example of how the left twists the actions of President Trump into something the emotionally inflames their constituents based on false allegations.

Second, President Trump issued a Proclamation on May 16, 2025Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, 2025declaring:

Throughout our history, the United States has been strengthened by the contributions of citizens from every background, united in the shared pursuit of the American Dream. As we recognize Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we celebrate the deep and enduring impact that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have had on our Nation. Forged by hardship and trial, they have never wavered in their contributions toward the advancement of our common destiny.

In the 1980s, Lakshmi and Radhakrishna Chilukuri immigrated from India to the United States and dedicated their lives to higher education. They built a life in America and raised a family, their daughters Usha and Shreya, instilling in them the values of hard work, perseverance, and a love of learning. Their daughter, Usha, now serves as the Second Lady of the United States. Tulsi Gabbard, a native of American Samoa, has dedicated her career to protecting our Republic, serving in the military and now as the Director of National Intelligence. Today, more than 77,000 Asian American and Pacific Islanders heroically serve our Nation in the Armed Forces. Their stories, along with many others, have helped build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous country.

This month, we honor the proud legacy of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and their contributions to the vast constellation of all our national triumphs. They are woven into the fabric of our Republic, reminding us that the American spirit is one of resilience, independence, and relentless pursuit of freedom and opportunity.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 2025 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The Congress, by Public Law 102-450, as amended, has also designated the month of May each year as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. I encourage all Americans to learn more about those of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander heritage and to observe this month with appropriate programs and activities.


President George W. Bush first proclaimedJewish American Heritage Month on April 20, 2006.On February 14, 2006, Congress issued House Concurrent Resolution 315 which stated:

"Resolved ... that Congress urges the President to issue each year a proclamation calling on State and local governments and the people of the United States to observe an American Jewish History Month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities."

The concurrent resolution (i.e., a non-binding legislative measure that lacks the force of law, appropriate when a law is not necessarysuch as awards or recognitions) was passed unanimously, first in the United States House of Representatives in December 2005 and later in the United States Senate in February 2006.According to Library of Congress hosted website, JewishHeritageMonth.gov, May was chosen as the month of Jewish American Heritage Month because of the successful 350th Anniversary Celebration of Jews in America marking the Jewish arrival in New Amsterdam.

Since the time the United States was but a coalition of villages and settlements, Americas Jewish citizens have played an indispensable role in our national story. They arrived as farmers, soldiers, tailors, and merchants, settling quickly and contributing greatly to the fields of law, art, science, and medicine. At crucial moments, Jewish Americans have joined their fellow citizens in working towards Americas unique vision of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The New World allowed those Jewish people emigrating from Europe to freely practice their faith without persecution, for the American experiment offered something providential an escape from every indignity, every abuse, and every tragedy visited upon the Jewish people over their long history.

In my proclamation declaring Jewish American Heritage Month in 2019, I drew from the words President George Washington drafted and sent to the Hebrew Congregation of Newport, Rhode Island, on August 18, 1790, addressing the Jewish citizens of our new Republic. President Washingtons letter contained a blessing, that the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants; while everyone shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree, and there shall be none to make him afraid.

During my first 4 years as President, in the several proclamations I issued for Jewish American Heritage Month, I often had the unfortunate task of contrasting President Washingtons timeless blessing with whatever violent acts of anti-Semitism had occurred in the previous year. Each time, it was an all too painful reminder of the fragility of President Washingtons words.

Then, October 7, 2023, happened, shattering the peace, not only abroad but also at home. Since those horrific attacks, the Jewish community in the United States and around the world has faced an incredible trial, though one that was not unfamiliar in Jewish history. College campuses and city streets erupted into violence. Blood libels were displayed proudly at protests. Those wearing yarmulkes were openly assaulted in the streets. The America that its Jewish citizens felt that they once knew appeared to have shifted completely.

In his letter, President Washington championed a different vision: For happily the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens.

Since the day I resumed my duties as President and following President Washingtons example my Administration has been determined to confront anti-Semitism in all its manifestations. I say that at home and abroad, on college campuses and in city streets, this dangerous return of anti-Semitism at times disguised as anti-Zionism, Holocaust denialism, and false equivalencies of every kind must find no quarter.

We proudly celebrate the history and culture of the Jewish people in America, and we hold that President Washingtons words, though nearly 250 years old, still carry the revolutionary promise of our Republic: that every citizen who demeans himself as a good citizen shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree a covenant added to a blessing.

I believe there has never been a greater friend to the Jewish people than my Administration. We will never deviate from our conviction that anti-Semitism has no place in the greatest country in the world. As the 47th President of the United States, I will use every appropriate legal tool at my disposal to stop anti-Semitic assaults gripping our universities. We will proudly stand with our friend and ally, the State of Israel. I will never waver in my commitment.

1. Its the largest tax cut in American history.

It delivers PERMANENT tax cuts and bigger paychecks. This means an extra $5,000 in Americans pockets with a DOUBLE-DIGIT percent DECREASE to their tax bills. Americans earning between $30,000 and $80,000 will pay around 15% less in taxes.

It funds President Trumps border wall. As a result, 701 miles of primary wall, 900 miles of river barriers, 629 miles of secondary barriers, and 141 miles of vehicle and pedestrian barriers will be constructed along with cutting-edge technology that will secure our homeland for generations to come.

It boosts Border Patrol and ICE agents on the frontlines. It will empower border officials with adequate resources to finally carry out their core mission by funding at least one million annual removals and hiring 10,000 new ICE personnel, 5,000 new customs officers, and 3,000 new Border Patrol agents.

4. It finally modernizes air traffic control.

It fulfills President Trumps plan to completely overhaul the systems that keep Americans flying safely and efficiently. This will allow President Trump to update our air traffic control systems and act where the Biden Administration failed (despite repeated warnings).

5. It ends taxpayer-funded sex changes for minors.

The One, Big, Beautiful Bill restores sanity to government. It prohibits Medicaid funding for gender transition procedures for minors.

So far, the One, Big, Beautiful Bill is being blocked by Republicans.


OnMay 1, 2025 President Trump signed the EO for the ESTABLISHMENT OF THE RELIGIOUS LIBERTY COMMISSIONdeclaring:

Purpose and Policy. It shall be the policy of the executive branch to vigorously enforce the historic and robust protections for religious liberty enshrined in Federal law. The Founders envisioned a Nation in which religious voices and views are integral to a vibrant public square and human flourishing and in which religious people and institutions are free to practice their faith without fear of discrimination or hostility from the Government. Indeed, the roots of religious liberty stretch back to the early settlers who fled religious persecution in Europe, seeking a new world where they could choose, follow, and practice their faith without interference from the Government. The principle of religious liberty was enshrined in American law with the First Amendment to the Constitution in 1791. Since that time, the Constitution has protected the fundamental right to religious liberty as Americans first freedom.

During my first term, I issued Executive Order 13798 of May 4, 2017 (Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty). Pursuant to that order, the Attorney General issued a memorandum for all executive departments and agencies (agencies) titled Federal Law Protections for Religious Liberty on October 6, 2017. The Supreme Court has also continued to vindicate the Founders commitment to religious liberty, including by giving effect to the principle that religious voices should be welcomed on an equal basis in the public square.

In recent years, some Federal, State, and local policies have threatened Americas unique and beautiful tradition of religious liberty. These policies attempt to infringe upon longstanding conscience protections, prevent parents from sending their children to religious schools, threaten loss of funding or denial of non-profit tax status for faith-based entities, and single out religious groups and institutions for exclusion from governmental programs. Some opponents of religious liberty would remove religion entirely from public life. Others characterize religious liberty as inconsistent with civil rights, despite religions vital roles in the abolition of slavery; the passage of Federal civil rights laws; and the provision of indispensable social, educational, and health services.

President Ronald Reagan reminded us that freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. Americans need to be reacquainted with our Nations superb experiment in religious freedom in order to preserve it against emerging threats. Therefore, the Federal Government will promote citizens pride in our foundational history, identify emerging threats to religious liberty, uphold Federal laws that protect all citizens full participation in a pluralistic democracy, and protect the free exercise of religion.

Today, the President signed an Executive Order establishing the Religious Liberty Commission during the National Day of Prayer event in the Rose Garden. President Trump designated the following individuals to serve on the Religious Liberty Commission.

  • Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (Chair). Dan Patrick was first elected Lt. Governor of Texas in 2014 and then re-elected in 2018 and 2022. He previously spent over 40 years in the media as a television anchor, conservative talk show host, and successful radio station owner. Lt. Governor Patrick led the Texas Senate in passing legislation to end the teaching of critical race theory in public schools, abolish DEI practices in our universities, place In God We Trust in the Texas Senate, and add Under God to the state pledge of allegiance. He produced the awarding winning film, The Heart of Texas. That film led him to start a four-year seminary program in Texas prisons in 2011. The program is now the largest in the world. In 2002, long before he was in office, Lt. Gov. Patrick wrote The Second Most Important Book You Will Ever Read, a challenge to read the most important book ever written, the Bible.
  • Dr. Ben Carson (Vice Chair). Rising from poverty to become one of the most renowned pediatric neurosurgeons in the world, Dr. Ben Carson served as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during the first Trump Administration. Dr. Carson is the founder of the American Cornerstone Institute. His most recent book, The Perilous Fight, outlines what needs to be done to restore the foundations of family in America.

  • Rabbi Mark Gottlieb. Rabbi Mark Gottlieb is Chief Education Officer of Tikvah and founding dean of the Tikvah Scholars Program. Prior to joining Tikvah, Rabbi Gottlieb served as head of school at Yeshiva University High School for Boys and principal of the Maimonides School in Brookline, Massachusetts. Rabbi Gottlieb is a trustee of the Hildebrand Project and serves on the Editorial Committee of Tradition: A Journal of Orthodox Jewish Thought.
  • Pastor Jack Graham. Jack Graham is Senior Pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, and author of multiple books, including The Jesus Book: Reading and Understanding the Bible for Yourself. Dr. Graham has served as Honorary Chairman of the National Day of Prayer and has helped lead various national prayer initiatives. From 2002-2004, he served as President of the Southern Baptist Convention.
  • Rabbi Yaakov Menken. Rabbi Yaakov Menken is the Executive Vice President of the Coalition for Jewish Values. He previously co-founded and edited Cross-Currents.com, an online journal of Orthodox Jewish thought and opinion. Rabbi Menken is a fellow of the Amud Aish Memorial Museum, focusing upon the study of modern anti-Semitism, and author of The Everything Torah Book.
  • Bishop Thomas Paprocki. Thomas Paprocki is the Bishop of Springfield, Illinois. He coined the Fortnight for Freedom, a campaign of American Bishops to defend religious liberty. The episcopal board chair for the Catholic Athletes for Christ, Bishop Paprocki has completed 24 marathons and authored Running for a Higher Purpose and Holy Goals for Body and Soul.
  • Bishop Kevin Rhoades. Kevin Rhoades is the Bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Indiana. He currently chairs the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Religious Liberty. In addition to his religious liberty work, Bishop Rhoades sits on the USCCB Committee on Doctrine, ad hoc Committee against Racism, and served on the board of directors for the National Eucharistic Congress.
  • Rabbi Eitan Webb. Rabbi Eitan Webb co-founded the Chabad House of Princeton in 2002, with his wife Gitty and has served as a Jewish Chaplain at Princeton University since 2007. In addition to his service to university students, Rabbi Webb serves on the board of directors of the Chabad on Campus International Foundation and of the Sinai Scholars Society.
  • Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel. Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel is the Executive Vice President of Agudath Israel of America, an American organization that represents Orthodox Jews. In 2020, he helped organize one of the largest gatherings of Orthodox Jews in U.S. history.

  • Josh Blackman. A national thought leader on constitutional law and the United States Supreme Court, Blackman serves as a professor at the South Texas College of Law Houston where he holds the Centennial Chair of Constitutional Law. Blackman was selected by Forbes Magazine for the 30 Under 30 in Law and Policy and is the President of the Harlan Institute.
  • Gerald Bradley. Gerard Bradley is professor of law at the University of Notre Dame, where he teaches Legal Ethics and Constitutional Law. He directs the Natural Law Institute and co-edits The American Journal of Jurisprudence, an international forum for legal philosophy.   • Alyza Lewin. Alyza Lewin is the President of The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law. Lewin is also a co-founder and partner in Lewin & Lewin, LLP where she specializes in litigation, mediation and government relations. Her experience includes criminal defense, civil litigation and anti-discrimination matters. Lewin served as President of the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists from 2012 2017.
  • Kristen Waggoner. Kristen Waggoner is the CEO, president, and general counsel of Alliance Defending Freedom: the worlds largest legal organization advancing every persons God-given right to live and speak the truth.

  • Christopher Levenick. Director of the Program for Civic Renewal with the Connelly Foundation, and the editor-in-chief of Philanthropy Magazine, Levenick has explored religion in the United States throughout his career.   • Sameerah Munshi. Sameerah has courageously spoken out against forcing children to learn radical gender ideology in schools.   • Ismail Royer. Ismail Royer serves as Director of the Islam and Religious Freedom Action Team for the Religious Freedom Institute. Since converting to Islam in 1992, he has studied religious sciences with traditional Islamic scholars and spent over a decade working at non-profit Islamic organizations. Royer has worked with nonprofits to promote peace between faiths.   • RTX is partnering with Emirates Global Aluminum and the UAEs Tawazun Council on a pioneering Gallium project that will help secure and stabilize the United States critical mineral supply chain. By diversifying sources of this essential input for semiconductors and defense technologies, the partnership strengthens Americas supply security, supports high-tech manufacturing, and creates jobs across the U.S. critical minerals and defense industrial base.
  • Qualcomm is expanding its global innovation footprint through partnerships with ADIO and e&. A new Global Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi will focus on AI, data centers, and industrial IoT advancing the UAEs digital transformation while supporting U.S. research, engineering jobs and demand for American technologies. Meanwhile, the collaboration with e& accelerates the deployment of advanced connectivity, edge AI, and cloud computing solutions. Together, these efforts strengthen Qualcomms leadership in critical technologies, fuel U.S high-tech job creation, and bolster Americas economic and national security.
  • Amazon Web Services, e&, and the UAE Cybersecurity Council have launched a Sovereign Cloud Launchpad to accelerate public cloud services adoption in the UAE.
