Thank you to all that have taken the time and effort to offer commentary updates and to those taking pictures and sending them over to us as visual proof to show readers what the MSM isn't showing them.

DISTURBING NEWS ON FOOD INFLATION & FOOD SHORTAGES

Reports are coming out with increasing frequency now that they MSM can no longer hide the truth, although they are still trying their hardest to spin it in a way that protects Dementia Joe Biden from the consequences of his policies like the good little sycophants they are.

On top of all the other issues we have been documenting over the past two years, these newer issues are disturbing to say the least.

Each report details an individual story, but when seen together, the picture is becoming clear: The supply chain crises are hitting critical mass.

Breitbart reports on a new Moody's forecast, which increased another projection made in March by Bloomberg, stating "President Biden’s 40-year-high inflation will cost American households on average an extra $5,520 in 2022, or $460 per month, a Moody’s analysts projected."

The "Bidenflation" has caused Americans to make significant changes to their spending habits:

• 42% are changing how they shop for groceries. This includes opting for cheaper items, avoiding brand names, and buying only the essentials.

• 46% are either dining out less or consciously spending less when dining out.

• 31% are driving less to offset the soaring cost of gas.

• 23% are spending less on vacations or canceling them altogether.

• 22% are taking measures such as canceling subscriptions to the gym, cable, etc.

On June 15, 2022 we saw reports of thousands upon thousands of cattle dying in Kansas, while just days before Smithfield Foods published a press release about closing a Vernon, CA facility, and reducing hog production in the Western region.

SMITHFIELD, Va., June 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Smithfield Foods, Inc. today announced that it will cease all harvest and processing operations in Vernon, California in early 2023 and, at the same time, align its hog production system by reducing its sow herd in its Western region. The company will decrease its sow herd in Utah and is exploring strategic options to exit its farms in Arizona and California. Smithfield harvests only company-owned hogs in Vernon. Smithfield will service customers in California with its Farmer John brand and other brands and products from existing facilities in the Midwest.

Smithfield is taking these steps due to the escalating cost of doing business in California.

Both the loss of cattle, along with the upcoming issue of Smithfield Pork reduction and the closing of the Vernon facility, will all further affect the price of meats.

As it stands, in an April 2022 report we see the "Consumer Price Index (CPI) for food increased by 7% from January 2021 to January 2022."

One of the most noticeable increases was in the meat category, which incurred a 13.6% increase. Beef, specifically, increased by 16% and pork was not far behind with a 14.1% increase.

Even geographical locations not seeing a meat shortage, are seeing price hikes, which are about to get exponentially worse when the affects from the loss of beef and pork are felt.

One reader sent images of a full meat section in one store, while mentioning seeing shortages in another store, and in trying to prepare for what is coming, has stocked his freezer full whenever seeing a sale on meat, saying in an email "Though I didn't buy much this trip, it still cost me over $70 - that's called "going broke saving money!"

News Nation reported on an interview with a fourth generation farmer, who said that high prices consumers are seeing at the grocery stores will be replaced by more empty shelves.

Breitbart offers a quote from the interview:

And it goes far beyond the gas pump: Eggs are up 32 percent, poultry is up 16.6 percent, milk is up 15.9 percent and fats and oils are up 16.9 percent, Axios reports. Overall, the cost of food is up about 12 percent — the largest increase since 1979.

TRUCKER'S DIRE WARNING!!!

Perhaps the most terrifying warning, which I used in the headline, comes from those with the most knowledge about the supply chain....truckers.

Headline: Truckers warn skyrocketing diesel prices are making US supply-chain and trucking industry unsustainable

Austin Smith, owner of Iron River Express, said it has cost him over $20,000 a week to keep his three trucks running.

"If something drastic doesn't change in the next few weeks/months, I promise you, you'll see empty shelves everywhere you look," Smith wrote in a post that was shared nearly 290,000 times. "You'll see chaos as people fight for the basic necessities of everyday life."

When you have farmers warning of empty shelves following record high prices due to inflation, and truckers warning of empty shelves leading to "chaos" while people fight over basic necessities, and meat processing facilities shutting their doors and reducing their inventory, then it is time to stop procrastinating and get your stocks in order before there is nothing worthwhile available and products that are, become unaffordable.

Over at News Break, they cover a number of states facing "prolonged," "extended," or "concerning" food shortages, which include: Pennsylvania, Maine, Arizona, Mississippi, Michigan, Alaska, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Wisconsin, & North Carolina.

In the series of images shown below from a Kansas Walmart, we see some of the same food shortages we have noted before, in yet another state, while also learning of new shortages, not focused on consumables.

We'll focus the links on the food images first since people won't starve without underwear, socks and hangers.

BOTTOM LINE

Independent Media has been warning the supply chain crisis and specifically the food shortage issues were going to continue to get worse, but now we are hearing from those directly involved with getting our store shelves stocked.

The famers and ranchers that produce our meat and produce, the food facilities, and the truckers that actually get our foods, clothing, water, medications and  every other retail items to the stores, are all telling us it is going to get much worse.

Act accordingly.
