America Fully Turned Into A Much More Brutal Version Of Venezuela Is Dead Ahead As A Long Term Grid Down Scenario, On Top Of Food Shortages, Would Be Final Nail In Our Coffin
According to this new story over at the Wall Street Journal (saved at archive.com so you don't have to pay the WSJ to read it in full), electricity shortage warnings are growing across America, with power-grid operators warning 'electricity supplies' are unable to keep up with 'electricity demands'.
Warning immediately in their story of the very real possibility of rolling blackouts across numerous regions across America over the Summer, especially during blistering heatwaves and/or during times of peak demand, that story also warned another reason for these expected outages will be due to delays in bringing new power sources, aka 'green energy', online, exacerbating the constraints.
Also warning within that story that these power plant operators hail from various states across the nation, from California to Texas to Indiana, how prepared are you for the grid to go down for an extended period of time in your own homes and offices should that worst case scenario unfold?
And while that WSJ story doesn't bother to mention the grid going down due to a Russian EMP that takes down the grid coast to coast or a 'localized' nuclear strike upon a big US city that takes down power to an entire region, it's long been warned that such a disaster could lead to 9 out of every 10 Americans dead within the following year to 18 months due to the chaos, disease and famine that followed.
So if you haven't gotten ready for such a TEOTWAWKI scenario, or for a grid down scenario that just lasts for a few hours or a few days, we'll be taking a look at doing just that in the final section of our story below with numerous alternative power options available to us now, options that will quickly disappear once the grid goes down. But first, from this new Wall Street Journal story.:
From California to Texas to Indiana, electric-grid operators are warning that power-generating capacity is struggling to keep up with demand, a gap that could lead to rolling blackouts during heat waves or other peak periods as soon as this year.
California’s grid operator said Friday that it anticipates a shortfall in supplies this summer, especially if extreme heat, wildfires or delays in bringing new power sources online exacerbate the constraints. The Midcontinent Independent System Operator, or MISO, which oversees a large regional grid spanning much of the Midwest, said late last month that capacity shortages may force it to take emergency measures to meet summer demand and flagged the risk of outages. In Texas, where a number of power plants lately went offline for maintenance, the grid operator warned of tight conditions during a heat wave expected to last into the next week.
The risk of electricity shortages is rising throughout the U.S. as traditional power plants are being retired more quickly than they can be replaced by renewable energy and battery storage. Power grids are feeling the strain as the U.S. makes a historic transition from conventional power plants fueled by coal and natural gas to cleaner forms of energy such as wind and solar power, and aging nuclear plants are slated for retirement in many parts of the country.
The challenge is that wind and solar farms—which are among the cheapest forms of power generation—don’t produce electricity at all times and need large batteries to store their output for later use. While a large amount of battery storage is under development, regional grid operators have lately warned that the pace may not be fast enough to offset the closures of traditional power plants that can work around the clock.
"Every market around the world is trying to deal with the same issue,” said Brad Jones, interim chief executive of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which operates the state’s power grid. “We’re all trying to find ways to utilize as much of our renewable resources as possible…and at the same time make sure that we have enough dispatchable generation to manage reliability.”
And with regular power outages now a part of the daily routine of the residents of crisis-hit Venezuela, along with the massive food shortages that the socialist nation has been experiencing, just imagine America with the same kinds of problems that Venezuela has been suffering from for several years now and we see the globalists plans for America. We've warned time and again on ANP that the radical left is following that same path and if Democrats get their way, America in the near future looking like Venezuela of the recent past and today is definitely not out of the realm of possibility.

So with 'every market in the world dealing with the same issue' a key sentence in that WSJ story excerpt, showing us that none of us are 'immune' to what's now happening, and that story also using the words 'supply shortages' time and again, we get a stark reminder of where America now is with gas and other energy prices spiking as supplies dwindle and food and supply shortages become a common, every day thing under Joe Biden and Democrats.
Yet one thing that would instantly make things MUCH worse would be a long term power outage. With even short term power outages that last for an hour or more quickly turning into a major disruption to those who don't have a reliable back-up power source, and who 'NEED' electricity to live their every day lives, not too many people in America are fully prepared to live a life w/o electricity in 2022.
With the Amish a perfect example of a group of Americans who do live off of the grid and still thrive and survive, let's take a look at this story over at the website Make Us Of titled "This Is How And Why The Amish Live Off The Grid." And with the subtitle of that story being "There is a group of traditionalist people, who reject many of modern society's technology, including public grid electricity: the Amish. That, however, does not prevent them from enjoying some of the comforts of technology," we see that we don't need to be 'connected to the grid' to live a normal life as the Amish regularly do. From that story.:
How would a lack of electricity affect your life? There is a group of traditionalist people, who reject many of modern society's technology, including electricity from the public grid: the Amish. That, however, does not prevent them from enjoying some of the comforts of technology.
How Do They Generate Power?
This is where it gets interesting. Since they refuse to buy electricity from the public grid, but still depend on energy for many of their everyday operations, they were forced to developed many workarounds. To power appliances, Amish use batteries, propane gas, compressed air pressure, various generators, hydraulic pumps, and even solar panels.
While not all of their power sources, like propane gas or diesel, are sustainable, they are rather creative, independent, and used to living off the grid.
How Do They Use Electricity?
Amish are probably not as backward as you think. Most use electric lights, often LEDs, instead of candles, gas or oil lamps, they have gas-powered fridges, washers, solar-powered electric fences, they use electric tools, and back in 2008, someone even developed a Classic Word Processor, aka an Amish computer.
So in the final section of this story below, we'll be taking a look at the options that are available to us right here and right now to get our families ready for the kind of scenario that the Amish deal with regularly but a scenario that if it happened long term, most Americans wouldn't survive.
Why Is Adopting An Amish Mindset So Important, From A Survival Perspective?
Imagine for just a moment that you have worked in an office sitting behind a desk punching away at a keyboard your entire adult life. At the end of the day, you get into a comfortable car, turn on the air conditioning, and listen to the radio so you don’t have to spend a single moment being bored.
A short time later, you arrive at your air-conditioned home, pull something to eat out of the refrigerator, pop it in the microwave, and sit down in an easy chair to watch television and play with your phone until bedtime.
Suddenly, the SHTF. The world that you and your family have always known disappears in an instant.
With an EMP, nuclear attack upon America or even a catastrophic weather event triggering that 'world we have always known' disappearing in an instant, as that Urban Survival Site story advised, "The Amish (about 300,000 of them) quietly live among us throughout the United States. They do not live on the grid, not in a conventional manner of speaking, at least. American Amish communities function from a power grid far superior to our antiquated electrical system – “God’s Grid.”We preppers can learn a whole lot from the Amish and their off-grid way of life…and should before it’s too late."
Several more stories giving us an excellent look into how the Amish not only still survive but thrive without being connected to 'the grid' are linked below as follows.:
Products and supplies as close by as an order and a delivery to your home that could definitely help save lives during a grid down, SHTF scenario in our futures include the following solar/wind power generator kits.:
Each of the videos below take a look at one aspect or another of the topics discussed within this story, from getting prepared for a long term grid down scenario to grid down cooking and more.
