The Trump administration has made it abundantly clear that they would be targeting those with top secret security clearance that have been feeding the MSM with classified materials and on Monday, June 5, 2017, a federal government contractor in Georgia was officially charged with "removing and mailing classified materials to a news outlet."
WHEN OLD NEWS IS TREATED LIKE A BOMBSHELL 'NEW" REPORT
Reality Leigh Winner, formerly Sarah Winner, is a contractor that was employed by a contractor Pluribus International Corporation, holding Top Secret clearance, she accessed information, printed it out, then mailed it to the website The Intercept. While we will get into more of what has been uncovered about Reality Winner later in the article, first we will deal with the "bombshell" news being treated as if it were new, when in reality, was reported on back in October 2016.
RUSSIAN MILITARY INTELLIGENCE executed a cyberattack on at least one U.S. voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before last November’s presidential election, according to a highly classified intelligence report obtained by The Intercept.
The top-secret National Security Agency document, which was provided anonymously to The Intercept and independently authenticated, analyzes intelligence very recently acquired by the agency about a months-long Russian intelligence cyber effort against elements of the U.S. election and voting infrastructure. The report, dated May 5, 2017, is the most detailed U.S. government account of Russian interference in the election that has yet come to light.
While the document provides a rare window into the NSA’s understanding of the mechanics of Russian hacking, it does not show the underlying 'raw' intelligence on which the analysis is based. A U.S. intelligence officer who declined to be identified cautioned against drawing too big a conclusion from the document because a single analysis is not necessarily definitive.
No argument that obtaining the actual documents was a scoop for The Intercept, but the news that "Russia" tried to hack the election was reported by CNN and others back in October, yet when clicking the old article about the issue, we see "updated June 5, 2017," with no mention in the article that it was originally published in October 2016, as shown clearly in the URL itself, which reads "http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/12/politics/florida-election-hack/index.html."
So basically CNN, who was recently caught staging news, decided it would be a good idea to change the date on an old article, republish it as new and act like it is breaking news. Yeah, that is going to help their "credibility" issues. NOT.
While liberals and Democrats across the Internet are acting like this is a "AHA! moment, Cybersecurity reporter for left-leaning Politico, who is definitely not a Trump fan if his Twitter feed is anything to go by, has done a good job of highlighting "the intrusion into VR Systems is the same hack first reported by CNN in October," as well as adding additional messages to explain how this isn't exactly breaking news, nor a smoking gun for liberals to claim the "election was hacked," by stating "NOTE that Russia couldn't change votes simply by hacking VR Systems or local election officials' personal computers." (Source)
While the prevailing "official" narrative from the MSM and the Intel community has relentlessly worked to place full blame on Russia, it is only fair to note that when the Wikileaks Vault 7 CIA hacking tools were exposed, part of them proved ""With UMBRAGE and related projects the CIA cannot only increase its total number of attack types but also misdirect attribution by leaving behind the "fingerprints" of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from. UMBRAGE components cover keyloggers, password collection, webcam capture, data destruction, persistence, privilege escalation, stealth, anti-virus (PSP) avoidance and survey techniques." (Via Zero Hedge)
In other words, our intelligence community can lay false footprints in order to blame anyone they want to officially blame.
This was also highlighted in the recent Megyn Kelly interview with Russia President Vladimir Putin when he told Kelly that specialists could make attacks appear as if they came from her own children. Putin went on to point out the problem isn't Russia it is American politics. At one point during the interview Putin also likens the "blame Russia for everything" mindset with anti-Semites, saying "It reminds me of anti-Semitism. A dumb man who can't do anything would blame the Jews for everything."
The point here is that Americans have been lied to by the MSM and our own intelligence communities about so much and so often, we truly may never know if Russia did indeed attempt to hack our elections or if our intel agencies framed him.
While we may never know who was ultimately behind the attempted hacks, Putin's point that what the information revealed were the actions of the DNC and the Clinton campaign, and no one rigged the Democratic primary except the DNC and the Clinton campaign, and no one wrote the emails that Wikileaks released except members of the DNC and the Clinton campaign.
Point for Putin for reminding people of those inconvenient facts.
GOVERNMENT CONTRACTOR CHARGED FOR LEAKING UNDER ESPIONAGE ACT
According to the Department of Justice website on June 5, 2017, "A criminal complaint was filed in the Southern District of Georgia today charging Reality Leigh Winner, 25, a federal contractor from Augusta, Georgia, with removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet, in violation of 18 U.S.C. Section 793(e)."
Winner was arrested by the FBI at her home on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
US criminal code Winner is being accused of violating, is from the Title 18, Chapter 37 Espionage and Censorship, where 793(e) states : "(e) Whoever having unauthorized possession of, access to, or control over any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, or note relating to the national defense, or information relating to the national defense which information the possessor has reason to believe could be used to the injury of the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation, willfully communicates, delivers, transmits or causes to be communicated, delivered, or transmitted, or attempts to communicate, deliver, transmit or cause to be communicated, delivered, or transmitted the same to any person not entitled to receive it, or willfully retains the same and fails to deliver it to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive it.... Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both."
This arrest comes just days after the New York Post reported that the Justice Department has gotten a warrant from the US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, (FISA) to conduct electronic surveillance on a group of journalists who’ve been the recipient of leaked information, but the journalists themselves are not the targets, those leaking classified information to the MSM are the ones in the crosshairs.
While the woman just charged does not fall into that category, it does highlight the fact that U.S. intelligence agencies learned absolutley nothing from Edward Snowden, as they still do not have the protective measures in place to prevent outside contractors from obtaining classified information, and distributing it to journalists.
LEAKER IS ANTI-TRUMP, ANTI-WHITE, BLM SUPPORTING, BERNIE RESISTANCE MEMBER
While we are now seeing the Trump administration aggressively going after leakers, a series of very disturbing facts are already being uncovered about the woman charged, Reality Winner, which brings up the question of what type of vetting do companies that contract for the government perform on their employees, especially those handed out clearance to view Top Secret information.
According to the DOJ statement on the arrest, Winner had been employed by Pluribus International Corporation since on or about February 13, 2017. A look at some of her social media accounts, by this person employed as a contractor and given access to Top Secret classified information, including her Twitter account under her former name Sara Winners, shows her suggesting to Kayne West that he make T-Shirts saying "being white is terrorism," responding to a tweet by President Trump saying "@realDonaldTrump the most dangerous entry to this country was the orange fascist we let into the white house," offering support to the Iranian foreign minister telling him "If our Tangerine in Chief declares war, we stand with you!," and tweeting supportive messages to Black Lives Matter.
See more of her anti-American, anti-white rhetoric at Ralph Retort, who asks the question how" did this person have Top Secret security clearance?" (Warning Ralph Retort used much more colorful language in asking that question.)
Also, it seems she was highly critical of President Trump's travel ban, as she highlighted an article and she used the hashtag "TrumpIsAC*nt.
The Blaze reports that Winner is also a left-wing activist with ties to Muslim groups, supportive of the Woman's March aka the "Vulgar Vagina March, on inauguration weekend, and the Daily Caller reports that she is part of the so-called "Resistance" and an avid Bernie Sanders supporter. Her Facebook page shows that even as a government contractor, with Top Secret clearance, she was publicly calling the president a "piece of sh*t."
Which brings us right back to the question of how on earth did this woman obtain Top Secret clearance???
Her digital footprint spans from before the election until after Trump was inaugurated, so the company that employed her could have easily seen who they were hiring before employing her, and just as easily could have uncovered the snake in their midst from her social presence after they employed her.
BOTTOM LINE
This goes beyond just the leaking of information to the MSM as this latest arrest shows a systematic failure to properly vet companies that contract out to the government, the employees of those companies, as well as the incompetence in her being allowed to print out classified and/or Top Secret information, then manage to get it out of her work place.
I understand President Trump inherited a system that was already in place, but this arrest, the leaking of Top Secret information by a contractor, even after the whole Snowden affair, proves without a doubt that the whole system needs an over-haul, from dumping the deep state actors and Obama holdovers from the intelligence communities, to investigating the procedures and type of vetting employees recieve at any and all contractors that have access to classified information.
Winner's intent was not to provide "new" knowledge, as her social media presence shows her intent was to harm the administration in any way she could because she hated Trump, which isn't "whistleblowing" where there are proper channels to provide Congress with information, this is outright treason and the charges against Winner should reflect that.
