On August 5, 2026, the White House published the release FBI Secretly Opened Probe Alleging Trump Fired Comey because he was a Russian Asset, Declassified Memos Show written by John Solomon, Editor in Chief of Just the News currently on special assignment as chairman of the White House Government Transparency Task Force. This release discusses the newly unclassified FBI documents for the investigation codenamed Oxferd Comma launched just days after then-director James Comey was fired by President Trump on May 9, 2017. The deep state actors within the FBI used the dismissed allegation that President Trump was a "Russian Asset" to initiate an in-depth investigation with the stated goal of determining if President Trump was
directed by, controlled by, and/or coordinated activities with, the Russian Federation in a manner constituting a threat to the national security of the United States and/or a violation of federal criminal statutes,” . . . “In addition, this investigation will also seek to determine whether President Trump and others yet to be named obstructed and/or conspiracy to obstruct any associated FBI investigation.”

On August 5, 2026, the White House published the release President Trump and Republicans Deliver Big Wins for the Silver State promoting the historic tax relief of the Working Families and Seniors sections of the OBBB (discussed in previous ANP Articles to which the index can be found in my August 2, 2025 ANP Article) and how these programs help Nevadans specifically the no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on social security, bigger refunds, and investment in rural health. Overall these tax cuts safeguarded $10B in state GDP and $5B in wages for Nevadans.
Companies are now investing in Nevada with Apple expanding, Amazon fulfillment centers and AI and cloud infrastructure projects, Vantage Data Centers in Storey County, Crocks expanding its fulfillment center; and First Majestic announcing a $75M investment to restart the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine in Elko County.
President Trump and Governor Lombardo will launch a joint task force to open federal lands for residential development. This task force will also fast-track energy projects, furthering President Trump's American Energy Dominance agenda.

On August 4, 2026, the White House published the Presidential Message on the Birthday of the United States Coast Guard (last discussed in my August 5, 2025 ANP Article). This year, President Trump speaks of the vigilance and grit exhibited by our indispensable Coast Guardsmen as they stand watch over our shores, waters, and way of life. Everyday these brave service members battle the invasion by sea of everything from drugs to weapons to humans. They are first to respond to weather catastrophes such as hurricanes; when Americans are at sea and in need of assistance; and any other need our homeland has. They have earned our respect and our support. To that end, the OBBB set aside $25B to put 21 new cutters, 40 new search and rescue helicopters, and 17 state-of-the-art icebreakers into their capable hands in the coming years. On August 5, 2026, the FR published the Presidential Action Continuation of the National Emergency With Respect to the Advancement by Countries of Concern in Sensitive Technologies and Products Critical for the Military, Intelligence, Surveillance, or Cyber-Enabled Capabilities of Such Countries which was signed August 3, 2026 and sent straight to the FR for publication. This Action extends the national emergency declared in EO 14105 Addressing United States Investments in Certain National Security Technologies and Products in Countries of Concern on August 9, 2023 for another year. It has been determined that ongoing activities, such as exploiting outbound investments (including intangible benefits that help companies succeed) continue to threaten the national security of the US. These activities involve sensitive technologies and products critical for the military, intelligence, surveillance, or cyber-enabled capacities.

In document, China's Acquisition and Exploitation of American Voter Data - 18 States Memo - clean - declass mark_Redacted provides no date and does not identify all 18 states identifying only Alaska, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New York, Washington DC, North Carolina, and Kansas. A minimum of voter names, birth dates, home mailing addresses, and political party affiliation were collected from all 18 states. Kansas data contained the following PII: first, middle, last name, suffix; date of birth; 10-digit telephone numbers; historical voting records; home and mailing address; military affiliation; political party affiliation; polling place name and address.
In the document, 200M Voter Records Compromised - declass marked_Redacted states as of 2019, it was noted that data between 2009 and 2018 was collected by PRC (People's Republic of China). This document provides tables with most of the information redacted and what is not redacted provides simply a generic numbered identifier. There are 8 somewhat legible tables in this document:

In the document, CIA Wire Memo Summer 2020 DECLASS_REDACTED dated 1 July 2020, acknowledges that China has had a longstanding interest in US elections since at least 2008. Since 2018, APT31 (Chinese cyber actors) have targeted email accounts of US leadership (including members of the President's office, Congress, Federal Judiciary, and others). Since 2017, a different group was using phishing emails designed to obtain or crack passwords on targeted people. In 2020, these actors targeted the Biden campaign and others. Google detected these actors and by June 4, 2020, informed government about APT31's activities.

The next simply gives thanks and notes they are happy to chat about their input on the report. The next found the draft report "too definitive" and wanted the language softened. At this point they "assess that China prefers that the President (Trump) does not win reelection". They note the PRC has begin attempting to influence US elections with election-related themes and directly naming candidates the PRC prefers and suggests possible softer rewording of the report. The next email in the thread thanks the previous person for their thoughts then tears it to shreds finishing with "we assess at this time China probably judges the risk of being caught interfering in the US election outweighs any potential gains." The next email in the thread responds to this 'transparency' by stating that it doesn't address the concern about REDACTED as well as pointing out other disagreements with the proposed statement. The next email in the thread thanks the person for their input then proceeds to tear the response to shreds. The next email in the thread wants their language kept as it illuminates why they are discussing the PRC in the first place as well as "put what we wrote back in the report" demands. The next email in the thread basically says "no because the INR wants it written our way". The next email in the thread stated they wanted to avoid a dissent but if the language is not returned to their suggestion, a dissent will be considered. The next email in the thread responds suggests they use NIC's proposed wording. The next email in the thread says the FBI concurs with the "CIA and INR's language edits and concerns." The next email in the thread is a reply that includes "are they basically saying we should self-censor our assessment on preference because it could be misused?" and goes on to state "if we can't communicate our thinking clearly, maybe we should just quit and go home." The final email in this thread brings up the concern about politics creeping into the report.

The writer suggests he/she and the NIO Cyber write an alternative analysis so as not to interfere with the what "rest of the community" has to say. The response email is fully redacted. The reply to the fully redacted email was 'thank you'. In the next, the writer states they have "burned enough political capital arguing with CIA and FBI about this" and is not sure why "so many in the community want to close down the possibility that China might have done or be doing *something.* The reply suggests that many in the FBI and CIA agree but are reticent in expressing those opinions. The follow-up email attaches a draft version of the alternative report. To which the recipient replied that it agreed with their personal assessment of the issue. the final email in the thread says that a Senior NSA is now on board to the alternative report.
NSA.MessagedPDB_20NOV2020_DECLASS_REDACT - this email is another mostly redacted thread that began on November 4, 2020 (the 3rd was Election Day) telling participants to cc everyone else on the cc line (not bcc) so everyone knows who else got the email. The next in the thread asked about status. The next says they have "deliberately massaged" a report to "avoid any direct links to the election" and the fact that the massive report is now 13 reports that will likely be downgraded [see thread above]. The reply says for them to "make sure there are REDACTED versions". The final email in this thread addresses the deliberately massaged elections PDB but the writer has not seen the draft as well as breaking the report into multiple pieces to further hide the election connection.
NSA.MessagedPDB_20NOV2020_DECLASS_REDACT - this email thread calls out the deliberate avoidance of any direct links to the election with the one massive report chopped into 13 separate reports that will be most likely downgraded and cross-posted. Although PRC has been "caught conducting election influence" the NSA appears to have "deliberately massaged our one pending PDB to avoid any direct links to the election" for "non-substantive reasons" but the writer notes the report has not yet been released so this may not be an issue. The final DNI person wants to know who the decision maker will be to reconnect the election security aspect to the report.
Everyone's Favorite Topic 23Dec2021- DECLASS_REDACTED - this email calls out the inconsistencies in an unnamed report concerning the PRC and US elections in 2020 calling out the fact that "It's the same personnel doing the same kind of activity."
In the document, FBI_ALBANY_IIR_PROVIDED_TO_CHAIRMAN GRASSLEY is a report from the FBI to a variety of organizations that is labeled as "not finally evaluated intelligence." This report is actually 3 pages out of the 6 (the first 2 pages are the list of recipients and the last page is fully REDACTED). The report is about the PRC exporting fraudulent US drivers licenses so the Chinese sympathizers in the US can vote fraudulently using mail-in ballots for candidate Biden. It was written in August 2020. The report notes that the report contains intelligence from a source who got the info from a sub source who claims they got the info from unidentified PRC government officials and clearly states that this report is for information only as it is NOT finalized intelligence. The report claims the PRC collected PII from millions of US TikTok users. This info would then be used to create fake drivers licenses with real user names and addresses. The plan was to produce 10s of 1000s of mail in ballots. Since addresses were not part of the information provided when users created TikTok accounts, the source was unable to state from where the US addresses would be obtained.
In the document, NICA Foreign Threats to 2020 US Election_19AUG2020 DECLASS_REDACTED this document is a National Intelligence Council Assessment published 19 August 2020 (NICA 2020-06885D). About half of this document is READACTED. The assessment starts with the disclaimer that it is a "downgraded version" of the NICA report of 19 August 2020. It does not make assessments and does not discuss efforts of foreign actors. What the assessment does not is project the idea that foreign states or other actors MAY attempt to influence US elections with Russia, China, and Iran as primary culprits. They suggest that Russia is against Biden whereas China wants Trump defeated. Whatever they had to say about Iran in the summary has been fully REDACTED. In a separate text box, they define election influence as overt or covert activities intended to affect a US election. Election interference is defined as a subset of election influence involving technical aspects such as voter registration, casting and counting ballots, and reporting results. Another textbox addresses threats to election infrastructure such that actors could exploit with an internet connection (voter registration databases, pollbooks, official election websites); manipulate systems that count votes (like voting machines) but they suggest this would have to be localized due to audits and paper trails; and cyber operations that target reporting results with things like denial of service (DOS) attacks to delay public access to results. As for Iran, later in the assessment, they write that Iran wants Trump defeated (like China) and think Iran will focus on online influence (social media) with disinformation focusing on criticizing President Trump while promoting news focused on civil unrest, racial justice, mail-in voting, and Trump's handling of COVID-19. The assessment claims that between 2018 and 2020 social media removed inappropriate content originating in Iran from their platforms including accounts that impersonated candidates. The assessment claims Iran has attacked election infrastructure in the Middle East and South Asia (but there is no information that they seek to do the same in the US). The assessment briefly covers other actors that might choose to interfere suchas folks from Turkey, criminal groups, Germany, and even Saudi Arabia. After reading through and summarizing these documents, I have the following comments:
Where I live, we used to have assigned polling places for Election Day (in early voting you could go to any early voting spot). By 2022, the state reduced the number of polling places available on Election Day; but, you were no longer assigned to any particular one. I think this might be one response to the PRC hacking our voter rolls that included our 'assigned' voting place.
I think they think by redacting the states, organizations, businesses, agencies, etc., involved, We The People won't panic. Thing is, not knowing is worse. Now that the data is out that our information WAS hacked, I, for one, would like to know which states and which people's records were hacked.
Have you noticed that normal users of technology tend to stay up-to-date with the latest phishing, email scams, and other nefarious online activities whereas people high up in the food chain tend to be ignorant and therefore fall for the scams? Scammers have, and that's why my 600 spam emails a day in between 1995 and 2006 dropped dramatically to about 5 a day around the same time scammers started going for people at the top of the food chain.
On August 6, 1777, 249 years ago,Patriots, led by General Nicholas Herkimer, met the British, led by Sir John Johnson, at the Battle of Oriskany at Fort Stanwix, near Rome, New York. The Patriots were comprised of 800 militiamen and 60 Oneidas (Native American Indians). The British were comprised on about 100 Loyalist light infantry and 400 Mohawks.
The battle actually started on August 2, 1777 when St. Leger arrived at Fort Stanwix with an idea to cut off the Colonies from the New Englanders. Patriots were alerted to the British having arrived and started sending troops to meet them. After 4 days of marching, the patriots were within miles of the fort. Herkimer wanted to contact other Patriots but the couriers were delayed, so he made the decision march on to the Fort.
Johnson had set a trap in a ravine near the Fort. Johnson's troops were blocking the path and the Mohawks lined both sides of the ravine. When Herkimer's troops entered the ravine, the Mohawks fired startling the Patriots. However, the Mohawks 'jumped the gun' so to speak and fired before the British were ready and the portion of Herkimer's troops that were not yet in the ravine fled. Fighting began in earnest with Herkimer being wounded in the leg but remaining to direct the troops. Then a thunderstorm came and the battle stopped while the storm raged.
While the storm was raging, Herkimer's messengers had reached the fort and Lieutenant Colonel Marinus Willet, with 250 troops, proceeded to raid the unoccupied British camp (they were all at the ambush in the ravine). Willet's troops took possession of Fort Stanwix.
When the storm finally let up, the battle continued with Johnson's troops growing tired and eventually retreating. General Herkimer was wounded in the leg. The story goes that he refused to be taken off the battlefield, asking to be propped up against a tree from where he would continue to direct the battle. There were about 555 casualties during this short battle. The Patriots suffered 385 killed, 50 wounded, and 30 missing or captured. The British suffered 7 killed, 21 wounded, and no one missing or captured. This battle is considered one of the bloodiest battles of the Revolutionary War.
Although there was no clear outcome from this battle and heavy losses, the British retreated. This battle was one of the reasons the Patriots were able to secure French support during the Revolutionary War.
Nicholas followed in his father's footsteps becoming a farmer, a trader, and a business man. He also portaged boats and goods for a fee. Nicholas is described as almost 6 feet tall with a dark complexion and black hair. He could speak German, English, and Mohawk. Nicholas built his house on the south shore of the Mohawk River in 1764. He was initiated into the Scottish Rite Freemasonry, St Patrick's Lodge in Johnstown, New York.
He married twice, both wives were named Maria. The first, Lany (Maria) Dygert, predeceased him. The second was Maria Dygert (niece to the deceased wife). She remarried after Nicholas' death and moved to Canada. Nicholas had no surviving children.
In 1957, he was involved in the defense of German Flatts when it was attacked during the French and Indian War. He had achieved the rank of Captain in the New York Militia on January 5, 1758. When German Flatts was attacked a second time in April 1758, he helped repel the attack.
By 1775, Nicholas was head of the Tyron County Committee of Safety as well as a colonel in the Tyron County militia. By September 5, 1776, he was commissioned as a Brigadier General by the Provincial Congress.
When the British seized Fort Schuyler in July 1777, he assembled the Tryon County militia at Fort Dayton. He marched to Fort Schuyler arriving there with his troops by August 6, 1777 (see the section above about the battle).
After the battle, the brigade surgeon, William Petrie, dressed Nicholas' wound; however, the wound later became infected. Hoping the infection would subside, the surgeon, Robert Johnson, waited 10 days partly because he was inexperienced and partly because he hoped the brigade surgeon would recover from his own wounds. After 10 days, the surgeon felt he could wait no longer and proceeded to amputate Nicholas' leg which went poorly and the incision bled profusely.
Nicholas died August 16, 1777, at the age of 49, in German Flatts, New York, from both the infection that set in and from having the leg that was injured the Battle of Oriskany amputated. Nicholas is considered a great military leader. He was interred near Little Falls. The cemetery is now known as Herkimer Home Burial Ground.
In 1806, German Flatts would be renamed Herkimer in Nicholas' honor. Nicholas's home is now called the Herkimer Home State Historic Site.
As part of the Eat Real Food campaign, HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy, Jr. has turned his sights to Hospitals and the food they serve to patients.
