While periodically we receive an email, or a comment from a reader assuring us that at their local store they are not seeing the massive food shortages that others are seeing and sending us images of, those firsthand accounts are getting rarer and rarer as the shortage images and totally empty shelves are becoming more frequent.
We have also noted a pattern in smaller geographical areas seeing less shortages, as well as the bigger, more visited stores, and the pattern of products we are seeing rapidly depleting, such as pastas, crackers and bread products such as bagels and biscuits, are being seen in multiple states, and different stores.
Before highlighting some of the recent reports, and showing other images sent in to ANP, we wanted to show what happens when rising costs of food, fuel and subsequent food shortages, become too much for people to bear.
The clips compiled in the short video below are from Peru, where it states in the video description "Some clips of the riots in Peru over fuel, food & inflation the MSM isn't covering."
The clips were taken from social media users in April 2022, with one stating "PERU :#VIDEO CLASHES BETWEEN POLICE & PROTESTERS HAVE LEFT 6 PEOPLE DEAD!- A total of 6 people have lost their lives since the protests against rising fuel prices and inflation began."
At around the 58 second mark in the video below is where the violent protests start, and since we here is the US are suffering the same inflation, gas and food price hikes and the type of shortages we see growing from the images being sent to us, it becomes critical to see for yourself what happens when people cannot afford to get what they need to survive.
Recently The Blaze published an article titled "Supply chain crisis: 'Shocking' national baby formula shortage forces rationing at major retail chain."
The supply chain crisis has prompted Walgreens – the second-largest pharmacy store chain in the United States behind CVS – to limit the amount of baby formula that customers can purchase. A spokesperson for the national drugstore chain told CBS MoneyWatch that customers may only buy three infant and toddler formula products per transaction. Walgreens – which operates approximately 9,021 drugstores in all 50 states – said the reason for rationing is because of "increased demand and various supplier issues." The restrictions are already in effect at stores.
CVS is also experiencing baby formula shortages. A CVC Health spokesperson told CBS News that "product supply challenges are currently impacting most of the retail industry." The largest pharmacy store chain said it is working with "national brand baby formula vendors to address this issue and we regret any inconvenience that our customers may be experiencing."
As of the week of March 13, an analysis by Datasembly found that 29% of the top-selling baby formula products were out of stock at more than 11,000 stores. A steep increase from 11% in November.
We start with the baby formula reports because an image sent us by a reader in PA, sent us an image that "shows" us what the written report cannot.
Visual confirmation.

Another issue causing shortages is the demands on the trucking industry, specifically the actual drivers, with Walmart dramatically increasing pay just to keep its supply chain going, after 4,900 drivers quit the industry in just one year, as reported by The Daily Mail.
The Daily Caller reports "California Is Single-Handedly Making The Supply Chain Crisis Even Worse"
California issued sweeping environmental regulations to reduce fossil fuel emissions throughout the state that will worsen the national supply chain crisis and cripple the trucking industry, industry leaders told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) issued a set of revised regulations called the Air Resources Board Truck and Bus Regulation, which required trucking companies in the state to upgrade their trucks with 2010 or newer engines by Jan. 1, 2023. The provision will add additional pressure to the supply chain crisis and cause many small trucking businesses to close or significantly reduce their workforce, industry leaders told the DCNF.
“We in the industry know that if you think there was a supply chain problem over the last year, wait until you take this many trucks out of the marketplace that are not replaceable,” Joe Rajkovacz, director of governmental affairs and communications at the Western States Trucking Association, told the DCNF. “You can be talking about something we as a country have never seen before.”
The rule will take roughly 80,000 commercial trucks, or roughly 17% of the trucking fleet, off the road, adding significant pressure to the supply chain crisis, Rajkovacz said.

The White House spent much of Monday trying to excuse, justify, and blame "Putin," rather than the Biden regime's policies, for the latest inflation reports, which they admitted would be one of the worst in recent memory.
April 11, 2022 headline from Fox News pretty much says it all: "Axios, Bloomberg, others forecast 'nasty' March inflation report: 'Number likely to be ugly'."
Sure enough, the numbers have been released, and is as ugly as predicted. "Inflation surges 8.5% in March to highest level since 1981," is the New York Post's headline on April 12, 2022.
MORE READER IMAGES
Below are just a few of the most recent images sent to us by readers over the past couple of weeks, from both Pennsylvania and Virginia, two different store chains, Walmart and Giant.
The next set of pictures I find particularly interesting since the new "shortage" at least in the images sent to us, seems to be crackers of different types, in different states, sold at different stores.
The bagels, breads, biscuits and crackers, among other consumables, all have an ingredient in common, flour.
As we see the shelves become emptier and emptier in certain geographical areas, we are also now seeing that flour shelves are becoming barer, as more people are learning to make their own bread-like products.
Links to how-to books, grinders and mills, and wheat berries can all be found at the article linked above, so we can focus on other problems and solutions in this piece.
Other consumables we are seeing an uptick of shortages of are juices, Gatorade, and other types of energy drinks. The shelves not "empty" but the sections have been made smaller to appear more full, and there are holes in the sections that aren't being restocked for longer periods of time.
Of course, for those that prefer their fruit juices and energy drinks without all the extra ingredients and sugars, juicing your own fruits is far more healthy and delicious.
The other shortages we have been documenting over the post two years include meat, specifically chicken and dairy products.
If you have been putting off stocking up on emergency survival, or in this case, simply survival foods as the food shortages become increasingly concerning, now would be a good time to get your pantry and stocks in order.
As Venezuela went from being one of the richest nations to one of the poorest, where at one point people were dumpster diving just to feed their families, and Peru is now seeing riots because of the same type of inflation we are seeing, and food shortages, Americans must stop with the mindset of "it could never happen here."
Prepare.
