Today I am tag-teaming the issue, looking at it from a slightly different angle, where masking is yet again being mandated in select areas, and lockdown chatter has gone viral, despite claims to the contrary by the liberal-leaning mainstream media, and how the media is creating the same type of fear and conditions that brought about a number of shortages, closures and panic, that occurred in 2020 and 2021.
We're told by those not attempting to strike fear in the hearts of Americans that this variant is no more hazardous that the Omicron variant, which was more like the flu, and will likely be around as long as the flu has. So the howling by the media about vaccines, and new strains, is nothing more than an excuse to
Considering the many variants that have come and gone since 2020, isn’t it curious that media are now all of a sudden focusing on particular COVID strains again, just as we’re moving into fall and influenza season?
The overreactions in 2020, lockdowns, forced masking, vaccine mandates, were all a lead in to medical tyranny yes, but at least there was the excuse that ":Covid" was new.
They no longer have that excuse, but what we do have is the knowledge of what did not work, and what made the situation worse.
The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses — including Covid-19 — was published late last month. Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is its lead author, were unambiguous.
But, wait, hold on. What about N-95 masks, as opposed to lower-quality surgical or cloth masks?
Makes no difference — none of it,” said Jefferson.
• The claims made by "experts," and Joe Biden himself, about not being able to catch Covid is you were vaxxed with the experimental vaccines and had your boosters, ended up being an outright lie.
As each natural mutation occurred we saw the MSM push for vaccines, and as the months wore on, most Americans became sick and tired of the lockdowns, the forced masking in public, and the social distancing in places of business, among other things.
Do Not Comply has become a mantra to half of America, while the other half, the ones that still believe liberal state leaders and the Biden regime, are ready to get in lines for yet another experimental vaccine, booster, or whatever they are calling it today, while still masking and attempting to shame those that refuse to mask.
Remember, the unprepared, the people who run out of dinners or lunches once a week because a weeks' worth of food is all they ever keep on hand, are the very same people that went "panic shopping" when the lockdowns began.
The "preppers," never panicked, never went and grabbed grocery carts full of toilet paper, never emptied shelves, because they already had enough to survive the insanity.
Remember the signs saying the limiting of sales for toilet paper would end once the "sheep-minded morons have all starved to death in their homes, surrounded by toilet paper, but without anything to eat?"
Well, while we cannot predict how much overreaction will occur, we do have 2020 and 2021 as a lesson,, because if the MSM cause the same type of fear, the panic shopping, shortages, and insanity will once again become our reality.
Let us take a look at the recent articles about this new "variant."
CBS, three days ago: "Should you be masking with new COVID variants? Experts weigh in."
A couple quotes to show you what the MSM is pushing: The first citation in this new article, is from 2021, so they are using older quotes, despite evidence since then to the contrary, to strike fear into the hearts of their readers.
• "We can certainly stop it making as many mutations by stopping it infecting as many people - if we block its transmission, if we wear a mask, if we get vaccinated, if we do social distancing," Duprex said.
• After news broke about the BA.2.86 variant earlier this month, the CDC said the agency's advice on protecting yourself from COVID-19 — which includes wearing a high-quality mask among other recommendations listed on its website — "remains the same."
Those are representative of what we are seeing in the news, masks, mask mandates
Some other headlines from just this last week:
That was just on the first page, using a time range of one week, and there are 6,340 results shown for just the last week. Some are duplicates as MSN republishes a number of MSM articles, but the fact is in just the last 7 days the media has worked overtime to "warn," aka scare the hell out of Americans, and we have already witnessed what that caused in 2020-2021.
Morris Brown College in Atlanta has reinstated a mask mandate, while Rutgers University in New Jersey continues to enforce both a vaccine mandate and a mask mandate nearly four years after the first COVID-19 case emerged in China.
AUGUST 2023, mandates begin again.
HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!
August 25, 2023, CBS News: "As COVID cases flare, some schools and businesses reinstate mask mandates."
• Movie studio Lionsgate is reinstating an in-office mask mandate at its Santa Monica headquarters...
• Lionsgate is also reviving other safety measures. All employees are required to perform a self-screening for COVID symptoms daily before reporting to the office, according to Deadline. Employees with symptoms, or those who have recently returned from international travel, are asked to stay home and notify the company's response manager, the publication reported, citing an internal company email.
• In Northern California, health care company Kaiser Permanente has reintroduced a mask mandate at its Santa Rosa hospital and medical offices "in response to this latest increase in COVID-19 cases," a spokesperson said in an email to CBS MoneyWatch. It applies to physicians, staff, patients, members and visitors.
Then we have the mask shaming, from the same article: "If I were with people who aren't public health-trained, I would wear a mask, particularly in crowded situations, because I really don't have time for COVID. Mask mandates are challenging because they make people really bent out of shape out of proportion to the ask."
Newsflash to the doctor that said that: It isn't the "ask" that people get bent out of shape about, it is the "mandates" or to put it more accurately, "forced masking."
This is how it started before, and here we go again.
WHAT TO EXPECT OF COVID HYSTERIA WINS OUT....
We are going to take a trip into the past for this part, so we can get a reminder of what happened when America let fear rule us.
An article from 2021, in the midst of the shortages, titled "Pandemic shortages: Products we've struggled to find during COVID." Everything from foam for boats, refrigerators, boats and RVs, to liquor, dumbbells, and specific cereals are on the list, along with used cars, roller skates, camping equipment, bicycles, outdoor pools, trampolines, kayaks and canoes, web cameras, and freezers.
While those items were in short supply back at the end of 2020 and 2021, unless manufacturers close again, most shouldn't be an issue.
The panic shopping type stuff on the other hand all depends on the level of panic the Biden regime, with the help of the MSM, cause, so we may want to stock up on just those items over the next few weeks, as a just in case measure.
All items that will be used at some point anyway, so it isn't a waste to have on hand.
From that same article showing the shortages back then:
While those fed up with mandates will not wear the masks, if there is a place you absolutely must visit that requires them, like a bank or grocery stores, it is good to have a few on hand.
Also, we do not recommend filling your house with toilet paper because you do not want to be one of the sheep-minded morons that die of starvation with surrounded by toilet paper.
Readers are encouraged to add anything they remember that I forgot onto the list in the comment section.
