David Brock, the founder of Media Matters, who in 2014 the website The Nation reported to be the man that "created an empire to put Hillary Clinton in the White House," failed in that venture after Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election, but has now become a driving force to attempt to put high profile conservative media personalities out of business.
In early April, Brock's Media Matters went after Fox News' Bill O'Reilly by publishing lists of advertisers with spots during O'Reilly's show, encouraging a boycott campaign to get advertisers to pull their ads to force Fox News to get rid of one of their shows with the largest audience. It worked, O'Reilly is no longer with Fox News.
Then they went after Sean Hannity, using the same methodology, which initially appeared to be headed the same way, when a huge advertiser, USAA, a financial services firm geared toward military members and their families, pulled their ads from Hannity's Fox News' show, but after a backlash by the very people they claim to serve, by way of over 1,600 irate communications by military members in a 48 hour period, reinstated their advertising on the Hannity Show.
Brent Bozell, president of the conservative Media Research Center, said he wasn't surprised by USAA's decision, "given the avalanche" of protests. His group was behind mobilizing that backlash, and said its members generated more than 1,600 phone calls to USAA within 48 hours.
"They did the right think in going back on that show," he said, "and so long as the other side isn't participating in personal smears, they should participate on those shows, too."
In an email from MRC, they conclude by making the following point:
Thank you for your support. We will continue to monitor efforts like this to silence conservative voices by intimidating advertisers. It’s a trend that must be stopped. Enough is enough.
MRC is right, Media Matters and Brock will not stop their attacks against any and all conservative media voices, while encouraging and supporting MSM sites, to which nearly two-third of Americans say report "fake news," like Rachel Maddow, MSNBC, CNN and others.
'FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE'
Which brings us to a number of patriots and conservatives that are banding together and have decided to "fight fire with fire."
Melanie Morgan and Brian Maloney, two longtime radio talk show hosts and media analysts, have united for the #StopTheScalpings project for Media Equality Project, where they have decided that if Media Matters is going to target advertisers for conservatives like Sean Hannity, they will target the advertisers of the liberal "Fake news" media, starting with the Rachel Maddow show.
Hillary Clinton is one of the founders of Media Matters, and George Soros is a main benefactor, this is a group that has targeted numerous conservative voices for the sake of their being conservative.
While not one liberal has stood up in defense of liberty and freedom for Hannity, there are numerous liberal hosts who have faced criticism for their point of view, that he has supported in the past.
To counteract these fascistic tactics, #StoptheScalpings has decided to fight fire with fire. As long as Media Matters continues to attack conservatives, we will return them the same kindness. We begin with Rachel Maddow who has been the biggest purveyor of lies and propaganda in the media today. Like Media Matters, we will now inform the public and the advertisers about who they are financing.
While we prefer not to be involved in this type of effort, we need to be on equal footing. We will continue to announce the advertisers that finance these efforts and support these hosts who allow lies and conspiracy theories to permeate the airwaves. If Media Matters ceases these type of assaults, we will do the same.
They provide a list of advertisers, along with all their contact information including names, email addresses, phones numbers where available, suggesting people ask them them why they are affiliated with outfits that do not uphold the Constitution. Ask them if they believe in freedom of speech, and if they are aware that they are connected with organizations and hosts who are vehemently opposed to those values.
When I say these are patriots, I mean that in a literal way. Years ago I interviewed Morgan, who used to host a radio show on KSFO, but then went on to become chairman of Move America Forward, a charitable organization that supports the U.S. armed forces and their missions, well known for her advocacy for the American military. The organization holds drives collecting basic necessities, care pages and other items to which they box up and send to our military overseas, making sure they know they have the support of Americans at home.
Now she is part of a movement to "fight fire with fire," in a battle for free speech.
Below you can hear Hannity discussing the #StopTheScalpings initiative.
Others joining this fight in their own way, including Phil Valentine, at Talkers, which is a radio industry trade publication, who not only speaks up for Sean Hannity, but for Hannity's right to ask legitimate questions about the mysterious murder of Seth Rich, saying "The radical left has mobilized against Hannity. They aim to have him removed from the airways. This is certainly their right, but it’s curious that they’re so worked up over what they call some silly conspiracy theory. Would they be calling for Hannity’s removal were he exploring the mysteries of Area 51 or the chupacabra? Obviously not."
Valentine then asks "If this is just another conspiracy theory, why are they launching a massive boycott against Hannity’s sponsors?"
He continues:
Too many of us in broadcasting stand idly by while our colleagues are destroyed by people who claim to love diversity except when it comes to diversity of thought. We stand on the sidelines while colleges cancel speeches by speakers who a violent, vocal minority don’t want to hear. We climb back into the cozy confines of what’s acceptable speech instead of standing on the battlefield of free speech, shoulder-to-shoulder with our brethren who endure these withering attacks.
There’s not a talk show host alive with whom I agree 100 percent. Yet there’s not a talk show host alive for whom I will not go to the mat to protect their freedom to express their opinions.
Corporations tend to react when cowardly sponsors pull their money at the first sign of trouble. Why these sponsors signed on to an opinion show in the first place is puzzling. But if there’s not pressure pushing back from the other side, those who wish to force their agenda through intimidation will always win.
The title of his article is one that every single Independent Media writer and website should take note of "Today Hannity, Tomorrow Maybe You."
If a Clinton lackie like Brock, supported by George Soros and other opponents of free speech are permitted to go unchallenged in taking out high profile conservative voices like Hannity, does anyone think they will stop there or do you think they will turn their eyes to the smaller Independent Media sites that do not have the funds to fight back until there are no voices but the Fake Stream Media?
Mark Levin is also stepping up, and suggesting that Sean Hannity file a suit against Media Matters, its board and its officers, for the "purposeful tortious interference with his employment contract."
His FB post below:
Levin is not alone as others with large followings, are speaking up in support of Hannity, and against those that are attempting to kill conservative voices online. On Twitter, Facebook, radio talk show, videos, from writers to pundits, we are seeing the same theme emerge, as you will see below, that message being "It's time to fight back."
