While everyone knows the name Robert Mueller, the man charged with carrying out what President Trump dubbed the "Witch Hunt," with liberals & the MSM believing Mueller was their last great hope to remove the President from office for "colluding" with Russia during the 2016 election campaign, a hope that has now been shattered for them as he shuts down his investigations, finding the president did not collude with Russia, almost no one is talking about the name John Huber.
Who is John Huber? An American lawyer who has served as the United States Attorney for the District of Utah since June 2015, who back in 2017, was tasked by the former Attorney General Jeff Sessions to lead a senior team of prosecutors to investigate "prosecutorial and investigative determinations" made by the DOJ and FBI in 2016 and 2017, "in cooperation" with the DOJ's inspector General, Michael Horowitz, who has staff of approximately 470 people.
The scope of Huber's task is far bigger than Mueller's was, but has been severely under-reported by the MSM. The scope of the combined reviews and investigation of Huber and the IG, includes investigating the DOJ's "compliance with certain legal requirements and Department and FBI policies and procedures with respect to certain applications filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA).
While the general public did not learn of Huber's appointment until March 2018, via a letter (embedded above) Sessions sent multiple members of congress that were requesting a special counsel be appointed to investigate FBI and DOJ misconduct, a recent Freedom of Information Act request has revealed that Huber has been investigating these matters since before November 2017.
According to the newly revealed FOIA document, published in early March 2019 (embedded below), in late November 2017, Huber, in cooperation with the DOJ IG as mandated by his appointment, was tasked with another investigation, specifically to scrutinize what has been dubbed "Uranium One, scandal" which was the the "sale of a Canadian uranium mining company with interests in the United States to Rosatom, a Russian state-owned company," which Republican lawmakers believe was not opposed by then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton because of donations made to the Clinton Foundation.
Republican lawmakers sent their request for an investigation into the Uranium One affair after The Hill reporter John Solomon exposed a Russian bribery plot before Obama administration approved controversial nuclear deal with Moscow, which highlighted that "Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow."
WHY THE FOCUS SHOULD BE ON THE HUBER INVESTIGATIONS
The media preferred to produce wall-to-wall coverage into the RussiaGate hoax, but now that Robert Mueller has ended his investigations and handed over his report to Attorney General William Barr, with no indictments or charges against any American citizen, including members of the Trump campaign and associates, for "colluding" with Russia, we turn our focus on the sprawling and so far leak-proof investigation into the conduct of the FBI, DOJ and other Obama era intelligence agency officials, being conducted by John Huber.
He has been scrutinizing the issues he and his team of prosecutors have been tasked with investigating, for at least a year-and-a-half.
I have long maintained that we would hear nothing directly from the Huber investigation until the "witch hunt" by the special counsel team had concluded and their findings turned over to AG Barr, because the media attention promoting the RussiaGate hoax needed to come to its conclusion before the official investigative details of FBI, DOJ officials misconduct could be revealed, so that they will receive the attention they deserve.
That time has now arrived.
While Huber reports directly to AG Barr, and serves on the AG's advisory board, there have been a number of statements made by President Trump, and chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee Lindsey Graham, calling for the "other side," to be investigated, to which both are fully aware is already happening and has been ongoing, quietly, without media attention or fanfare, for nearly two years.
On Sunday President Trump told reporters "Before I even got elected, it began and it began illegally. And hopefully, somebody's going to look at the other side. This was an illegal take-down that failed."
As many know, President Trump has often brought up a topic that foreshadows what is to come. One prime example was when he asserted the Obama administration spied on him and his campaign, which was roundly mocked by the media until months and months later when it was revealed that the Obama administration did, in fact, spy on his campaign members and associates.
As an interesting aside, John Huber, along with other U.S. Attorneys, met with AG Barr earlier this month, as shown with an image Mr. Huber posted on social media, with the statement "US Attorneys thoroughly enjoyed our time with AG Barr this week. He is a solid, proven leader with a clear vision for the @DOJ. We will move forward with his priorities, hold offenders accountable, and advance the rule of law."
I wonder if the status of his investigations was discussed with the AG.
BOTTOM LINE
The fact that President Trump is highlighting the "other side," while fully aware that there has been a nearly two year long investigation into just those issues, along with Senator Graham highlighting FISA abuses, the FBI, DOJ, the Steele Dossier, among others thing in his press conference today, while calling on another special counsel to investigate those issues, mentioning multiple times he wants "someone like Mueller," brought in, again fully aware that they already have "someone like Mueller" in John Huber, appointed by Obama and Trump respectively and given bipartisan support when confirmed, already investigating, tells me that both the President and Graham want the media to start doing their jobs and report the "news" rather than focusing on Russia hoax.
