President Trump Meets With Qatar And UAE At G7, DNI Nominee Jay Clayton, CEQ Expo, America250: Battle Of Quebec, And More

By S.E. Gunn, PhDAll News Pipeline

On June 16, 2026, President Trump met with the Emir of the State of Qatar. The 2 men held a 24 minute press conference.  President Trump started the conference by saying that the Emir is a fantastic man, and the prime minister (who was also present) likewise.

President Trump addressed the issue of Iran first. He acknowledged the 2 recent US attacks against Iran and how the 3rd was put on hold because the Iranians decided to make a deal. President Trump called it a good deal noting that we are not investing any money in Iran.

He then moved on to working with Qatar saying that Qatar fought with us, helped us, and showed great bravery. He acknowledged Qatar was in a dangerous position being so close to Iran.

The Emir then thanked President Trump for his leadership noting that this is a very important and critical time in the Middle East. He acknowledged there is still a lot of work to be done but there is momentum to achieve and do great things in the region as well as for Iran. He reiterated that Qatar is available to help however it is needed.

The Emir mentioned the historic trade partnership agreed to in President Trump's historic visit last year noting that the trade deal will reach $1.2 trillion. He is also appreciative of the US and American Companies investing in Qatar. The Emir again thanked President Trump for his leadership.

President Trump noted that Qatar will be investing more than $1 trillion in the US, setting a record. Since his trade agreements, over $19.2 trillion is being invested into the US. The US is building more factories, we are leading in AI, we're building automobile factories, we are building more now than we ever have in the history of our country. Some of these factories being built will open over the next year to year and a half while some are already open. Pharmaceutical companies and car companies are returning from overseas. These companies are removing old plants and building new in their place. He mentioned that if these companies do not follow through, they will see tariffs upwards of 200% imposed upon them. The autopen CHIPS act (where companies were provided billions of dollars and they did not use it to build CHIP factories) and President Trump thinks about 50% of the CHIPS industry will return. To avoid the imposition of tariffs, these companies simply need to build & produce within the US.

Then President Trump transitioned back to Iran, stating unequivocally that Iran can NEVER have a nuclear weapon and the US is NOT investing ANY money in Iran (it was the Obama administration that paid Iran billions of dollars - in US cash). Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. They cannot develop one, buy one, or accept one as a gift, or use any other method of acquiring one or there will be unbelievable consequences - ultimate consequences. President Trump reiterated he was never after regime change; however, he did note that the first 2 groups of 'leaders' in Iran are now dead and part of this 3rd group is also gone. He noted forced regime change does not work. He commented that the Qatar Emir and Prime Ministers are respected by their people and pointed out this is the way a country should be run: out of respect not fear. President Trump mentioned the Iranian wrestler who was at the UFC event on June 14, 2026. This wrestler spoke about how Iran put a great wrestler to death because he spoke ill about the regime. The wrestler and about 42,000 other protesters were put to death in Iran for protesting the regime.

President Trump circled back to Qatar and how brave they were during this military action. Qatar was on the literal front line and was also being attacked by Iran. He said Qatar was tested and found brave.

Of course, the press did their usual inane thing and asked questions about things unrelated to the meeting with the Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar. They asked about Ukraine (already met with Ukraine and Russia). They asked about Iran (what if they continue to kill their own people - response we will talk to them about it and see). President Trump did spiral down the Iran can't have nuclear weapons spiel again. However, he does think Iran has rational leadership now.

The press asked about Israel's expectations. President Trump said it's Hezbollah and the man he put in charge of Syria is doing an amazing job of pulling things together; however, Israel and Hezbollah have been fighting for a long time. President Trump said he suggested that Israel let Syria take care of Hezbollah. They asked if President Trump was frustrated with Netanyahu. Answer: No. Without the US Israel would not exist. It's just that Netanyahu has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon. However, President Trump is not happy with the way Israel handled themselves with Lebanon and Hezbollah. . . it's just going on forever. President Trump then went on with dumocrats and wondered how anyone could vote for them because they are dumb people.

They did ask about Qatar: what are the economic opportunities? President Trump said the economic outlook is good, Qatar has a lot of oil, so they should be good. The Emir pointed out that Qatar was not interested in 'opportunities' in Iran. The interest was in stopping the conflict. However, he is sure there will be huge opportunities once a final deal is sealed.

On June 16, 2026, President Trump met with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The 2 men held a 14 minute press conference. President Trump began by stating that His Highness is a warrior and a man of great respect. He is a courageous man. He has a fantastic country. They have invested trillions of dollars in the US, reiterating that over $19 trillion has been invested into the US since President Trump took office. President Trump stated that our relationship with the President and with the UAE has been outstanding. The UAE is a very powerful ally. President Trump then moved into the Iran Deal where Iran will never have a nuclear weapon and the Straight of Hormuz will be fully open by Friday.

The President of UAE then spoke saying that he was grateful for US support and commitment to supporting allies. He thanked President Trump especially for his support during the 6-week war. The President of UAE mentioned that there were a lot of things to talk about moving forward between our 2 countries.

Of course, the press did what they always do and ask questions about things not related to the UAE meeting. They asked about the 2nd stage of the Iran deal (it's a 60-day period, Iran wants to get this done so they can get back to business). Why not release the text of the document (it will be released but we want it signed first - it says Iran will never have a nuclear weapon & the straight will be open toll-free beyond the 60 days on Friday and we paid them nothing and we have no obligation to Iran in the future). President Trump thanked our US Navy for the excellent job they did on the blockade. Then he went on to say that when he releases the text of the deal he will probably have a press conference and read it to you word by word so that the press covers it accurately.

The Press asked about the Abraham Accords, noting that the UAE has signed on to it, and asking about whether the other Arab leaders would sign as well. President Trump said the UAE President is a very advanced man and was in on the Abraham Accords right away. President Trump thinks the other Arab leaders were afraid of Iran and now that Iran is coming to the table, the rest of the Arabian leaders will join.

The Press asked about Lindsay Graham being skeptical about the Abraham Accords. President Trump says Lindsay is fine, he is not skeptical. The reporter followed up asking about Graham's thinking that the eventual agreement with Iran should be sent to Congress for review. President Trump said he did not think about doing that but he likes the idea of sending it to Congress saying they should not approve it so it would get approved.

The Press asked about whether he was briefed on the attack plans for during the UFC event that the FBI found. He was not. The President of UAE asked if there would be another UFC event next year. President Trump said he did not know, that he got away with it because of America's 250th Anniversary.

The Press asked about Russian sanctions. President Trump said that we would be able to do that soon because oil would be flowing shortly and we removed the sanctions because the oil was not flowing.

The Press asked how can we make sure that the Straight remains open in the future. President Trump replied to make sure you have a strong US President. You can have all the agreements you want but if you don't have the strength to back it up, they are useless.

The Press asked if he could speak about the plan for the enriched uranium in Iran. President Trump said we would take it. There is no rush, we have cameras from space monitoring every location. It will be a tough excavation. We are not taking it, we will destroy it.

The press wanted to know what prompted President Trump to attend the Versailles dinner. President Trump said he is a fan of beautiful places and the French President invited him to dinner. It means he will arrive back in the states in the early morning; but, he doesn't sleep much so he'll be back in the Oval Office at his usual time.

President Trump ended the press conference by stating that our country is doing very well. Stock markets are high. The autopen inflation he inherited is dropping. Gas is dropping with oil prices dropping due to the potential Iran Deal. Inflation will continue to drop and prices will continue to come down.

I am still annoyed with the Senate for not posting ALL their votes on their website like the House does (discussed in my June 16, 2026 ANP Article). I am also annoyed with the House for taking yet ANOTHER 3-day holiday, this time in the middle of the week.

The SENATE convened on June 16, 2026 at 10am and adjourned at 6:39pm.

The Senate made 3 votes that they chose to post on their website:

    • Vote 175 On the Motion to Proceed HR6644 - 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act PASSED 87-8 with 5 members not voting.
    • Vote 174 On the Motion to Discharge SJR172 - A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress. Rejected 47-48 with 5 members not voting.
    • Vote 173 On the Motion to Proceed SJR190  - A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Executive Office for Immigration Review relating to "Appellate Procedures for the Board of Immigration Appeals" Rejected 46-48 with 6 members not voting.

The SENATE will reconvene at 10am on June 17, 2026.

The HOUSE is still on their 3-day vacation. They will reconvene at 10am on June 18, 2026.

A new lawsuit County of Santa Clara v. United States Immigration & Customs Enforcement docket # 5:26-cv-05604 filed in District Court, N.D. California on June 10, 2026 about Santa Clara County Immigration Detention Center where Santa Clara County sued the Department of the Homeland Security over the decision to build a immigration detention facility in the county. (This lawsuit is similar to the one in Utah that I reported on in my June 16, 2026 ANP Article.) The lawsuit seeks the following relief:

    1. Declare unlawful, vacate, and set aside Federal Agency Defendants’ decisions to enter into the Lease and to begin construction of an ICE facility at the Holsclaw Property on the basis that they are not in accordance with, without observance of procedure required by law, and arbitrary and capricious.
    2. Declare that in Federal Agency Defendants’ siting of the ICE holding facility at the Holsclaw Property, they have failed to “arrange” for an “appropriate” place of detention pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1231(g)(1).
    3. Declare that Federal Agency Defendants violated 8 U.S.C. § 1231(g)(2) by failing to consider the availability of any other location for the ICE facility that will detain individuals at the Holsclaw Property.
    4. Declare Defendants’ intended use of the Holsclaw Property as violative of the restrictions imposed by the Williamson Act contract and enjoin Defendants’ continued development, construction, and intended use of the Holsclaw Property.
    5. Stay Federal Agency Defendants’ decision to enter into a lease of the Holsclaw Property, decision to begin construction of an ICE facility at the Holsclaw Property, and implementation of those decisions pursuant to 5 U.S.C. § 705 and issue all other necessary and appropriate process to preserve status or rights pending the conclusion of the proceedings;
    6. Preliminarily and permanently restrain, enjoin, and stay Defendants from further implementing the Lease and the decision to begin construction of an ICE facility at the Holsclaw Property, including without limitation enjoining any further work, construction, or other physical modifications on the Holsclaw Property in connection with the proposed facility;
    7. Award Plaintiffs reasonable costs and attorneys’ fees; and
    8. Grant such other relief as this Court may deem proper.

Plaintiffs are represented by County of Santa Clara California and State of California.

On June 10, 2026 the suit was assigned to Magistrate Judge Susan van Keulen.

I was not anticipating other states following Utah's lead to attempt to restrict the creation of NICE Detention Centers in their cities/state. But now that California has jumped on board, expect other blue cities/states to join in.

After the Patriot's defeat at the Battle of Bunker Hill (discussed in my June 12, 2026 ANP Article), the Patriots regrouped. When they looked at what had happened so far, they were reminded of the Fort Ticonderoga incident (discussed in my May 9, 2026 ANP Article) and by the fact they as of this time, the Patriots still held the Fort. This event led to both the British and the Patriots to consider the Province of Quebec as a strategic position for the upcoming Revolutionary War. But, they neglected to remember that the French Canadians were Catholic and mostly neutral where the British vs Patriots were concerned. They just wanted to live their lives in peace.

Congress authorized the Continental Army's commander of its Northern Department to invade the Province of Quebec if the Major General thought it necessary. Major General Philip Schuyler was given the approval on June 27, 1775. He carried letters from Congress to Quebec that promised liberation from their oppressive government.

By September 1775, the Army began moving into Quebec with a goal of driving the British troops out of Quebec. While the major battle was fought on December 31, 1775, skirmishes continued through June 1776. Many Patriots were unprepared for the brutal winter they endured.

The Patriots ultimately lost Quebec.  They started with 1,200 troops and ended with 50 killed, 34 wounded, and 431 missing or captured. It is unknown how many State Militia were present or what their final count was at the end.

The British started with 1,800 troops and ended with 5 killed and 14 wounded. By June 1, 1776, the British increased their ranks with more than 9,000 soldiers and 4,000 German auxilaries. British General Carleton forced the Canadians to quarter the troops as punishment for their disloyalty in not signing up when he called for the Canadian Militia.
