The New Normal Is Coming To A Store Near You - Products Locked Behind Plexiglass, & A 40 Minute Wait To Buy Toothpaste, All Because Cities Run By Democrats Are Soft-On-Crime
Would you spend the better part of an hour at a store waiting for an employee to come unlock the glass barrier between you and your favorite brand of toothpaste? Toothbrush? Vitamins? Let's me ask another question instead of naming individual products.
What product from Walgreens, Walmart, Target or your favorite drug store, would you be willing to wait 20 or 40 minutes for an employee to mosey on over, unlock the plexiglass cage, before moving to the next aisle, just to kick back and wait again for the next product?
This is the new normal for people in parts of California, New York, New Jersey and other high crime cities and states.
A recent piece at Daily Mail is headlined "Frustrated shoppers are forced to wait as long as 40 MINUTES to get their hands on basic groceries like toothpaste, baby formula and vitamins at Walmart and Target as retailers lock up products to combat soaring crime."
Shoppers are being forced to wait as long as 40 minutes to buy basic essentials like baby formula and body wash as major retailers lock up products to counter skyrocketing rates of theft.
Reporters from Inside Edition visited five Targets, five Walmarts and five CVS stores in New York and New Jersey and timed how long it took for employees to retrieve different products from glass casings.
'Everything's locked up,' journalist Lisa Guerrero said as she stepped inside a Target in Manhattan where baby formulas, razors and cleaning products were kept under lock and key.
In 2018, they were locking up condoms, so we can see how over the years, more and more items were put behind plexiglass, and then more and more stores started doing it, and then more and more cities were added to the list of geographical areas where practically everything was being locked up.
As a side note: If Soros DA's and prosecutors would do their job and arrest, charge and prosecute the thieves, maybe people wouldn't have to wait 40 minutes for an employee to come unlock the cage the products you want are locked up behind.
Just spitballin' here.
ANP Emergency Fundraiser: The globalists war on ANP is all part of the globalists 'Big Tech' effort to silence conservative and independent voices, allowing them to maintain a monopoly on the flow of information. As George Orwell made clear to us decades ago, "The further a society drifts from the truth, the more they will hate those who speak it." But, with your amazing help, we at ANP promise to keep 'speaking truth to power' because, as Orwell also reminded us, "If liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."
COMING TO A STORE NEAR YOU.....
On October 25, 2023, the worst cities for retail theft were reported on. Those are Los Angeles, California, Oakland/San Francisco, California, Houston, Texas, New York City, New York, Seattle, Washington, Atlanta, Georgia, Sacramento, California and Chicago, Illinois (tied), Denver, Colorado; Miami, Florida; and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Now if you look at the original Daily Mail store cited above, you'll note that New Jersey Walmarts, CVS stores, and Targets, are also locking up products, so we see that this practice isn't limited to just the "worst" cities for theft.
Other stores, including Target are simply shutting down stores in major cities.
Target’s decision to close nine of its stores in major cities, citing persistent large-scale theft at those locations, is the latest signal that retailers may be struggling in their battle to contain a growing and dangerous problem.
Industry experts say even a small increase in crime can have massive, cascading effects that cause retailers to close stores.
“It’s proof that store crimes are reaching a new level,” said Burt Flickinger, retail expert and managing director of retail consultancy Strategic Resource Group.
Watching this happen, first with condoms at drug stores in 2018, to 2023 where now multiple store chains are locking the majority of their products up, we see how fast this is becoming the new normal.
While this shouldn't be a political issue, it appears as though it truly is because the crime, including theft, is more prevalent in cities and/or states run by Democrats.
Look above at the top worst cities for theft, and you will see every single one of them is run by a liberal mayor or liberal governor, like in California.
It is not just retail theft, but high crime rates for shootings, and car jackings, are all higher in liberally run cities than they are in conservative run cities.
A majority of Americans have had it with the surge in crime and are leaving and avoiding dangerous cities, trying to cope with the wave of shootings and car jackings or simply giving up on their situation, according to a new law enforcement survey.
Not everyone can afford to move away from high crime states/cities, some cannot leave family. There are a number of reasons why a person or family can't get out of a hellhole state or city,
We are not for a moment suggesting one hide away in their homes, scared to walk outside, but if even close to a high crime city, having personal protect on you is critical. Whether a firearm for those comfortable with one, or other personal protection products for those not comfortable owning a gun.
Between the high crime, "sleeper cells" crossing the border and waiting for instructions to attack and the porous border where terrorist on the FBI watchlist have been caught, with no idea how many crossed without being caught, personal protection is necessary in this dangerous world we now live in.
We recently linked to a number of different personal protection items, such as tasers, mace, batons, for those wanting non-lethal weapons of protection. That article is at this link.
Awareness and caution should be the number one priorities for Americans in this day and age.
If you can avoid crowded stores, or large gatherings, or big cities, especially big cities, why not do it? They are loud, smelly, crime-ridden and in many places like Kensington, PA, San Francisco and other cities, have open drug dens in the middle of the sidewalks.
EMBRACE ONLINE SHOPPING
"Circling back" to our question at the beginning of the article: "What product from Walgreens, Walmart, Target or your favorite store, would you be willing to wait 20 or 40 minutes for an employee to mosey on over, unlock the plexiglass cage, before moving to the next aisle, just to kick back and wait again for the next product?"
If your answer is no one single product is worth a 40 minute wait, then it is time to embrace the art of online shopping.
Perhaps Stefan and I have a head start here since our closest Walmart is 35-40 minutes away, so other than groceries, we do all our shopping online.
CVS, Walmart, and Target all have online shopping options, load your products into the virtual cart, pay and have it all delivered right to your doorstep. These days it is also safer if one lives in a big city, especially a city run by liberals, because those are the high crime cities and states.
Here is a list of items from just the Daily Mail article, that are locked behind plexiglass, each linked to the products themselves.
Those were just the products named or seen in the images, but some of those images showed quite a few other products behind lock and key.
Another benefit of online shopping is the options you have. Safer and easier, with more to choose from.

NON-LETHAL SELF-DEFENSE WEAPONS
Starting with the non-lethal, the products below are affordable and have some very good reviews.
Pepper Sprays:Note - This seems to be best used for outdoors, but not advisable for indoor use unless absolutely necessary as some of the reviews were clear that the rate of dissipation ended up affecting the user as well as the attacker.
Out of all the products researched, when it came to pepper sprays, the SABRE brand received the best reviews with 4 and 5 stars.
Tasers: (Note- Tasers are a little more expensive, but rather than just stunning the attacker from up close, they fire barbs attached by wires to batteries, which will incapacitate them temporarily.)
