It is very easy for people to jump on the "politically correct" bandwagon when the issue very rarely affects them in a personal manner and when the main stream media continues to portray an issue by only focusing on one side of the controversy, but "opinions," positions and support for a cause can change on a dime when it is your family, your children, that are affected..... when things leave the world of "abstract," and become very real, and very personal.
The head of the Georgia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, Maya Dillard Smith, a woman that self-identifies as "progressive," and "unapologetically black," one of the youngest ACLU directors in the nation, and one of the only three African Americans employeed in that role at the ACLU, has just resigned from her position after it became very apparent that an agenda the ACLU is pushing is one that puts her children in harms way.
The organization's increasing focus on legislating the transgender lobby's concerns pushed Maya Dillard Smith, interim director of the Georgia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, to tender her resignation.
“I have shared my personal experience of having taken my elementary school age daughters into a women’s restroom when shortly after three transgender young adults, over six feet [tall] with deep voices, entered,” she wrote.
“My children were visibly frightened, concerned about their safety and left asking lots of questions for which I, like many parents, was ill-prepared to answer,” she continued.
Dillard Smith goes on to state "I understood it to be the ACLU’s goal to delicately balance competing rights to ensure that any infringements are narrowly tailored, that they do not create a hierarchy of rights, and that we are mindful of unintended consequences."
"I believe there are solutions that can provide accommodations for transgender people and balance the need to ensure women and girls are safe from those who might have malicious intent," she said.
That ladies and gentlemen is the flip side of the coin that the main stream media refuses to address.
While they continue to claim that "conservatives" want to discriminate against transgenders who are "uncomfortable" using a bathroom geared toward their biological gender versus the gender they "identify" with, they neglect, in fact refuse, to point out that the presence of a transgender in a bathroom specifically created for the opposite sex, does in fact, make others uncomfortable.
Make no mistake, they are not fighting for "equal" rights, they are attempting to strip the right of privacy, saftey, and equality from others.
Proof of that assertion is clearly shown in the video below, which we have highlighted before, because it is the perfect example of the fact that transgenders do not wish to use a bathroom created as "gender neutral," or "unisex," which is the perfect compromise on this controvsersial issue, but insist they be allowed into dressing rooms and bathrooms for the opposite sex.
Nearly 200 students walked off-campus for about two hours as part of the protest before returning to class. Another 30 to 40 held their own gathering in support of Perry, who has identified as a girl since she was 13 but only publicly revealed her gender identity last year. She also told officials she did not want to use a unisex faculty restroom, but wanted to be allowed to use the girls’ locker room and restrooms.
“I wasn’t hurting anyone and I didn’t want to feel segregated out,” Perry said. “I didn’t want to be in the gender neutral bathroom. I am a girl. I shouldn’t be pushed off to another bathroom.”
One can see the media and the Obama administration's push for this agenda of stripping the rights of many in order to appease the few, with Obama now issuing a Presidential Proclamation, stating that June is " LGBT Pride Month, 2016 - LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, AND TRANSGENDER PRIDE MONTH, 2016.
What month is "Heterosexual Pride Month," Mr. Obama?" Where are OUR equal rights? One cannot say if there was a "heterosexual pride month" it would be bigoted without admitting that to have a gay pride month is bigoted and discriminatory as well.
Then the media attempting to tell little girls they need to "overcome the discomfort" of seeing "male genitalia" in their restrooms and dressing rooms, as the Charlotte Observer editorial board recently wrote, is further proof of the media's complicity in pushing the LGBT and transgender agenda while attempting to strip the rights of the majority away from them.
LGBT AND TRANSGENDER MANIA- GENDERS BEING ERASED - A 'SYMPTOM OF CULTURAL COLLAPSE'
Ironically, one of the best arguments against the LGBT and Transgender community's assertions comes from Camille Paglia, who is a self-proclaimed feminist and lesbian, who once stated that "Sex reassignment surgery, even today with all of its advances, cannot in fact change anyone’s sex," because "Ultimately, every single cell in the human body, the DNA in that cell, remains coded for your biological birth." She continues on to say "I think that the transgender propagandists make wildly inflated claims about the multiplicity of gender."
She points out there are a lot of lies being propagated and it is not in anyones best interest.
Other noteworthy points made in her commentary below include reference to a topic ANP recently addressed about the feminization of men, where she highlights the consistent theme of futurists and sci-fi, where "men and women will conform to each other in gender," saying gender is being "erased" and pushing the idea that "masculinity is retrograde."
Perhaps the most interesting point Paglia makes is in regards to her study of sexual persona, she speaks of late phases of culture where she found in her studies a pattern in ancient times that leads her to assert that "as a culture begins to decline, you have an effloresence of transgender phenomenon," and continuing on to say "That is a symptom of cultural collapse."
BOTTOM LINE
We have finally found an issue where people have finally said "ENOUGH," as shown by the massive push-back by Americans against Target over their new transgender policy which sent their market cap into a downward spiral, where shoppers hit them where it hurts, their wallets. An issue where states are standing up and suing the Obama administration over his massive over-reach in insisting schools allow boys into the girls bathrooms and locker rooms and vice versa, and threatening their funding if they don't comply.
With the resignation of the ACLU head because her daughters were "visibly frightened" by men in the women's restroom while they were using it, we are also witnessing progressives pushing back against "progressive" agendas because it is endangering their own families.
