Fake News Alert! MSM Deliberately Spreading False Headlines  - 'Tell A Big Enough Lie And Tell It Frequently Enough, It Will Be Believed'

By Susan Duclos - All News PipeLine

The little darlings, or un-informed brats depending on your opinion of them, from Marjory Douglas High School that have been used as puppets by gun control proponents are absolutely livid again, and pushing false news again, claiming that the NRA is hypocritical because they are banning guns during their annual convention.

The mainstream media is helping them spread this false narrative, this "fake news," in their headlines, yet for those that click on many of the stories, the truth which contradicts the headlines is buried within.

Esquire: The NRA Believe In The Right To Bear Arms (Unless Its At Their Own Event)

Washington Post headline: The NRA said guns will be banned during a Pence speech. Parkland students see hypocrisy ( link)

Politico: Parkland students criticize NRA for banning guns at upcoming Pence event

ABC News NY: 'Am I missing something?' Parkland community shocked over weapons ban during Pence appearance at NRA event

USA Today: NRA draws fire from backers, foes for gun ban at event with Vice President Pence

MSNBC: Ruhle Suggests 'Serious Hypocrisy' in Banning Guns from Pence Speech

Huffington Post: NRA Convention Bans Guns To Protect Mike Pence. Parkland Survivors’ Jaws Drop.

The Daily Caller has even more pumping out similar headlines.

The implication is that the NRA is banning weapons at their convention when they fight against gun control proponents that want to buy weapons. That implication is clearly seen in how gun control proponents are spreading the news on social media, with the founder of MomsDemand and EveryTown supporter, Shannon Watts claiming "Once again, the @NRA will not allow attendees to be armed in the convention center when keynotes are speaking." Celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon to spread the news to their supporters, with actor Morgan Freeman stating "Wait -- doesn't the @NRA & @DLoesch believe that more armed people means more safety??? So why would they disarm their audience? What if one "bad hombre" sneaks a weapon in and no armed "good guys" are there to shoot him/her dead?"

On and on it goes..... the problem is, while the NRA did inform their attendees that during VP Pence's and potentially President Trump's keynote speeches, "firearms and firearm accessories, knives or weapons of any kind will be prohibited in the forum," and despite the misleading headlines, many of the stories above acknowledged that it is not the NRA that is "banning" anything, because in that same notice by the organization it states clearly "Due to the attendance of the Vice President of the United States, the U.S. Secret Service will be responsible for event security at the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum."

The NRA was simply informing attendees that the Secret Service takes over security, and according to the SS spokesperson, found way down the article in paragraph 7 of the Washington Post story, "The NRA is complying with laws that prohibit firearms from being brought into areas where Secret Service protectees visit, agency spokesman Shawn L. Holtzclaw told The Washington Post in a statement Sunday."

As was noted when the Secret Service took over security at the GOP convention when their protectees, specifically Donald Trump, was in attendance, Title 18, United States Code Sections 3056 and 1752, "permits the agency to overrule state open-carry laws when it is overseeing a protected site." A statement at that time by another Secret Service spokesperson, Kevin Dye, "Only authorized law enforcement personnel working in conjunction with the Secret Service for a particular event may carry a firearm inside of the protected site."

18 U.S. Code § 1752(c) - Restricted building or grounds:

(1) the term “restricted buildings or grounds” means any posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area—

(A) of the White House or its grounds, or the Vice President’s official residence or its grounds;

(B) of a building or grounds where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting; or

(C) of a building or grounds so restricted in conjunction with an event designated as a special event of national significance; and

(2) the term “other person protected by the Secret Service” means any person whom the United States Secret Service is authorized to protect under section 3056 of this title or by Presidential memorandum, when such person has not declined such protection.

In other words, the NRA has only two choices, do not invite the VP or the President, or any person that is under Secret Service protection, or comply with the law giving the SS control of security of "Restricted building or grounds," when an individual they are protecting is on the premises.

Whether one agrees or disagrees with the law, or the SS not allowing weapons, to imply, and spread disinformation that implies the NRA is "banning" weapons is a deliberate attempt to spread fake news, via headline.

For the record, when the SS and their protectees are not in attendance, the attendees are allowed to carry their firearms at the NRA convention.

The MSM has been pushing gun control for decades, using every tragedy to highlight gun control proponents while ignoring Second Amendment supporters, uncaring that they are promoting a false narrative, as long as they can attack law-abiding American gun owners and Second Amendment supporters.

Proof of this is how they continue to push this very narrative, doing so in 2017, and 2015, in regards to the exact same situation at the NRA conventions held in those years, as highlighted by RedState this morning.

They get away with it by using their headline to give a false impressions, then burying the facts that it isn't the NRA rules, but the Secret Service's, so technically they can say they "reported" it correctly, despite giving a different impression in their headline, so those that read the headlines but not the articles, are left to spread the fake news, rather than the complete picture.

Others now spreading the fake news include Kurt Eichenwald, former writer and investigative reporter with The New York Times, Condé Nast's business magazine, Portfolio, and later a contributing editor with Vanity Fair Internet, who states "I dont understand. The NRA has banned guns at their convention because Pence will be there. But guns don't kill people, people kill people. I know that because the NRA says so. They should be banning the people, and leaving cheering guns in the the seats of the auditorium."

In response to ABC News NY pushing this false narrative, NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch, blasted them by saying "NRA banned nothing. The media does this every year. It’s Secret Service SOP and they supersede all start and local control. Don’t complain about your eroding credibility and people calling you “fake news” when you publish things like this," then she linked to the ABC 7 NY promotion, which was promptly deleted off their Twitter feed, although their "story" is still on their site.

ABC News NY, then re-promoted the story, which shows the headline in their promotion as "Weapons banned during Pence NRA Appearance," yet when you click their story it goes straight to the one headlined "'Am I missing something?' Parkland community shocked over weapons ban during Pence appearance at NRA event." In that second promotion they finally admit ".@NRA follows @SecretService protocol for weapons ban at @VP appearance at Dallas convention......"

She also had to call out the AP, which also provided a fake promotion, stating "NRA bans guns at President Trump, VP Pence speeches during it's annual meeting in Dallas."

Kudos where it is deserved, journalist Salena Zito, calls out the Huffington Post headline by responding to their promotion, where she corrects them by saying "Now I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that the Secret Service is the group who is barring the guns."

In a piece titled "The Perennial Fake Controversies Surrounding the NRA Annual Meeting," Jim Geraghty concludes with "When you see the same false story – “the NRA banned guns from its own convention!” year after year, it demonstrates that certain news organizations don’t care if they get the story wrong."

That ladies and gentlemen is the bottom line, they don't care if the news is fake, misleading or inaccurate, as long as it pushes their anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment attacks against the NRA and other Second Amendment supporting groups.

It seems the media and gun control proponents believe the same thing Hitler did, "Tell A Big Enough Lie And Tell It Frequently Enough, It Will Be Believed."

Disarming Americans is always, let me repeat ALWAYS, their ultimate goal.

NOTE TO READERSWith digital media revenue spiraling downward, especially hitting those in Independent Media, where attacks from every direction continue to come unabated, it has become apparent that traditional advertising simply isn't going to fully cover the costs and expenses for many smaller independent websites.
